School Days & New Cut Files!

It's that time again...time for new Cut File sets in The Cut Shoppe!  This week, there is a mix of cut files, but also a few that will get you ready for Back to School!  If you're still waiting to scrap last year's school photos or maybe school photos from several years ago, then these would be great for your pages!

I used one of the new cut files, Alphabet Soup, on my layout for today.  We homeschool our kids, but I still like to take their photo every year, and had not gotten a chance to scrap last year's photo of the girls.

I wanted the Alphabet Soup background cut file, to stand out on my layout, so I created two clusters, one with my photo and title and a smaller embellishment cluster with the year the photo was taken.  This design approach, allowed me to use the cut file, without covering a lot of it.  I used the School House collection from Chic Tags and some papers from the Heidi Swapp Serendipity collection.  Once the background was finished cutting, I backed some of the alphas with patterned paper and used some of the stickers from the Chic Tags School House sticker sheet to coordinate with the alpha, from the first word on each sticker!

You could find a lot of different ways to use this cut file on your back to school layouts or even your everyday pages!  Design Team member Annelie Maddock has another take on the cut file, coming to the Blog soon, with a totally different look to her page!

XO Layout

Hello! Lee-Anne here today and I am excited to share my layout for The Cut Shoppe.  For this layout,  I created a background and a title using the Around My Heart Cut File and the Handwritten XO Cut File.

Here is a closeup using the Handwritten XO Cut file

Here is a closeup using the Around My Heart Cut File.

Both of these designs can be found in The Cut Shoppe Etsy Store.

I loved creating with these designs.  There are so many to choose from that it was so difficult to decide what to use.  There are cut files being added to the store every week.  Have a great day!

This is my Happy Place

Hi everyone,

I have my second layout to share with you today!  I have actually used three different cut files on this one.  Firstly, I have used the negative images from the 'It Adds Up' cut file which are the little plus signs on my layout.  I had cut out this file for something else but I am always looking for ways in which to utilize all parts of an image that I have cut out and using the negatives are a great way of doing this.  I have also used one of the new cut files in store 'borderlines' which I just loved and is so versatile with four different borders to choose from.   Lastly, I have used the 'Stars and Stripes' cut file to create some visual interest down the left hand side of my page.   I have also added some of the same piece of the striped patterned paper behind this cut file to add some colour to these shapes.  All of my cuts I have outlined in black with my precision pen as I really wanted these shapes to 'pop' and be quite graphic.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today!  I hope you have enjoyed my post!

Hey Mr DJ!!

Hi Everyone! Sarah here to show you a layout I made using a cut file named after one of my favourite shows when I was a teenager "the X file" hehe! I loved that show and when I saw the name of this file it made me giggle! I love it!

I really like the versatility of this cut file! You can use it in 12x12 or 8.5x11, but really you can size it to any size your machine will cut!

I backed some of the circles with a few different pieces of patterned paper and embellished some others with wood veneer or chipboard pieces. I also added some wood grain enamel dots to other circles to dress them up a bit!

Here's some close ups:

Sushi Love

Hi Everyone,

Gina here, and I have a layout to share today using a couple of really fun cut files.

Sushi Love Layout

To create the fun background I used the It Adds Up 8.5x11 cut file and added some fun pattern papers and hand stitching to accentuate the plus signs.

To create my title, I used the Sushi Love cut from the Food For Thought Cut File.

Good Dog! & New Cut Files!

There are A LOT of new cut files available today, in The Cut Shoppe, including our new Thursday files and ALL 50 states!  The State cut files are great for travel layouts, layouts about your home state, or for upcoming school projects for your kids!  Make sure you stop by and check them out!

And I have a new layout to share with you, that uses cut files from two of the new sets, that are now available in the Shop!  Pet lovers you definitely need to stop by and check out the For the Dogs cut file and the That Darn Cat cut file!!

I love to use background cut files, so I couldn't wait to give the Cross My Heart background cut file a try!  Instead of using the full 12x12 background, I used the 8.5x11 cut file for my layout.  I backed some of the circles with different patterned papers and left some open, for the background paper to show through.  After the background was in place, I added some vellum stamped circles and smaller hearts to several of the larger heart shapes.  And even though we don't own any live pets, our son's Pup Pup stuffed animal usually goes where ever we go...even to Mardi Gras in New Orleans!  I've wanted to document this photo for a while, so this was the perfect opportunity, since I had the For the Dogs cut file to go along with the photo!  You can pick up the following files that I used, in The Cut Shoppe today!

And don't forget to check out all of the new State cut files, and all of the other files available in the Shoppe!!  There's even something for all of the SciFi Lovers out there, with the new Geeked Out cut File!

Be You

Hello everyone here is Cari with my second post! This time I used the cut Be You to make a very big tittle in my layout.

I really enjoy painting with neocolor 2 lalety so what I often do is to cut my files on Fabriano paper so this way is easier to paint them and the paper doesn´t get damaged no matter how much watter you put on it.

Here you can find the cut Be You on the etsy store.

I hope you like it and this idea help you a little!
