Hello Autumn

Happy Halloween Eve everyone!  With that said, today's layout isn't a Halloween layout, but make sure you join us tomorrow for some Halloween fun on the Blog...Design Team inspiration, a giveaway, and Halloween cut files will be on sale!  Now, on to today's new Cut Files and layout!  There is a variety of new Cut File sets available in The Cut Shoppe today.  I used some of the images from the November Notions set and part of the background from the Lucky In Love background cut file.

I just had to use that cute owl from the November Notions cut file set.  I may have purposefully chosen a photo, that would work on a Fall themed layout, that could work with an owl!!  He is ready to cut as is and leave the White space negative, but I wanted to add a little bit of extra something, something to my owl.  Here's a quick look at how you can separate the owl in Silhouette Studio, to add your own fun touch.

1.  After you open your Owl in Silhouette Studio and Trace the image, go to Object and select Release Compound Path.  This will separate all of the individual parts of the owl.

2.  I wanted to back the chevron pattern instead of cutting each piece separately, so I only moved the eye and nose pieces.  Once you decide how you want to cut each piece, you can move the extra pieces off of your mat, before sending your owl to cut.  I just cut each piece on the patterned paper I wanted to use, and then put all of the pieces together, once everything was cut.

**Color added to emphasize the separated pieces.**

I hope you enjoy all of the new Cut Files in the Shop this week!  Here's a look at all of the ones that have been added today!

I spy some great Planner cut files, that are available today!!  And they come in two formats...Cut Files and Printables!!

Be awesome Be you

Hello, it's Danielle here today with something different than usual. Instead of a scrappy project, I decided to decorate a canvas bag that I had for a while but never used before.

Silhouette has this amazing Stencil material which is sticky and reusable. I picked the 'Be awesome Be you' quote from the Words to Live By cut file and cut it out with the Stencil Material. Now I only had to pick a bright pink fabric paint and I was good to go.

This is how my bag turned out.

This is the complete Words to Live By cut file, which you can find overhere in the store.

We love to see all kinds of projects made with The Cut Shoppe cut files, so please share them with us on Facebook or Instagram!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Fall

Hey everyone, it's Amy with my very last post on The Cut Shoppe's blog. :( Time has just flown by and I've loved being on this team so, so much!  I wanted to create a special layout for my last project, and I knew documenting my favorite season would be perfect. For this page, I used the new Gossamer Blue Gramercy Road line, along with the fabulous Feeling Fallish from The Cut Shoppe.

Here are some closeups of the amazing leaves.

I hope you're enjoying your Fall as much as I am.

The Open Road

Hi friends,  Gina here today to share a recent layout that I made with you, using some brand new files from the shoppe!

The Open Road

I started my layout by cutting the Chevron in a Triangle cut file as my background.  Then I cut the Right on Target cut file and placed it behind my photo.  I then used Silhouette sketch pens with the Counting Stars cut file and Pack your Bags Tags cut file.  Once the sketch designs were dry I painted over them using watercolors and a waterbrush.

I used a total of 4 cut files on my layout today.  I think that is the most that I have ever used on one layout and I just love how everything coordinates together!
I used:

                                                                    Right On Target

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed my layout.  If you have made a project using cut files from the shoppe we would love to see them.  Link us up on our Facebook page!

& XO

Hi everyone, Michelle W here sharing my last layout for my term. I have had such an amazing time creating with Ashley's cut files and I know I will definitely continue to add them to my layouts going forward.

For this layout, I thought I would do something a bit different and I have used  'And Then' cut file on my layout but instead of using the actual file, I have used the negative left over Ampersands to create a mixed media background using texture paste.  It is a really simple technique background to achieve, firstly, just paint on some texture paste or similar gel medium would work.  I then used this is a glue and added the Ampersands randomly overlapping to create some texture and interest.
Here is my finished layout:

I hope I have inspired you to use up those little left over negative pieces of your cut files!
Cheers

Happy Fall Y'all!

Hello friends! It's Lee-Anne here and today is my last post for my term on The Cut Shoppe Design Team and it has been so much fun!  What an amazing four months!  I can't say enough about Ashley and the team.  They are one classy bunch and fantastic to work with.  Without further ado, here is a Fall layout I created.

I wanted to create a plain and simple layout using the cute Happy Fall Y'all Cut File. I love the way it gives a warm, casual feel to my page.  I used the Sweater Weather Collection by Simple Stories for the papers, enamel, dots, stickers and ephemera.  Here are some more closeups.

This and many more amazing cut files and printables are available in the store now!  Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day!

All Day Everyday

I always love stopping in every Thursday, to share a layout with you, using the new Cut Files sets, that are added to The Cut Shoppe!  And today is no exception!  Today I used the new Hugs & Kisses 8.5x11 background cut file and the Tag, You're It cut file.  One of my favorite ways to use cut files, is finding creative ways to use the positive and negative shapes...because let's admit it, as scrapbook paper hoarders, we hate to throw anything away!!  :)

https://www.etsy.com/listing/208155161/the-tag-youre-it-cut-file-includes-4?ref=shop_home_active_10

I used the Hugs & Kisses 8.5x11 background cut file behind my photo, by sizing it down to 6x6 size.  Then I had all of the left over "X"s and heart shapes on my mat, so I decided to scatter them around the page and machine stitch through each one.  And I have a thing for tags lately, so I used two tags from the Crate Paper Notes & Things collection, to create a cluster around my photo and then cut the All Day Every Day tag from the Tag, You're It cut file set, to use for my title.

Make sure you visit The Cut Shoppe today, and you can find these new sets in the store!

It has been an awesome four months working with the Design Team and sharing their amazing work with you, using Cut Files and Printables from The Cut Shoppe!  And I can officially say, that after the first four months, the hardest part is choosing a new Team, when you have worked with such amazing Ladies!  I would love to keep everyone of them, but we just wouldn't have enough days on the calendar for everyone to post!!  :)

I want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who applied for the call and to all of the current Designers who reapplied!  It's so hard to choose, when all of your choices are good, but now it's time to introduce the new and returning Designers, that will be sharing with you from November to February!  Let's welcome them!

So excited to begin working with these Ladies!

The new Design Team will begin sharing with you on November 1st.  And each of their bios will be available on the Design Team page starting November 1st, so make sure you stop by to find out more about each one of these talented Ladies!  I know they can't wait to start sharing their projects with you, for the next four months!

We are saying good-bye to six of our current Designers, and I hope you will continue to follow each one of them, by visiting their Blogs.  They have been wonderful to work with, and I loved seeing what they created each month with the cut files.

I would like to say Thank You to each one of you, for being so awesome and taking a chance on the first Design Team for The Cut Shoppe!  I couldn't have done it without you!!
