Na-sing!

Hi there, it's Cara here today, with my not so sneaky son. ;) I used a few cutfiles for this layout to make it fun, and to highlight my son's sneakiness and his habit of hiding things :D

The background cutfile is Spinning Spirals.  I love the whimsical feel it adds to the page.

The Spinning Spirals background cut file is available in 8.5x11 and 12x12 sizes, for your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

The compass comes from the Happy Camper cutfile.  Sometimes I feel like we need one to find all the things this boy has hidden or lost, so it was perfect!

The Happy Camper cut file includes 7 travel/camping themed icons, that can be used for your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

I wanted to do a bit of stitching but not spend hours on it, so I took the longer arrow from the Doodle Dandy cutfile and instead of cutting it out, I cut holes at specific points around the edge. Stitching it was fun and easy :D

The Doodle Dandy cut file set consists of 7 hand-doodled icons, that can be used for your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

I have a couple of blog post that talks about adding stitching holes, if you'd like to try it.  You can find  them here and here.  Have a fantastic day!

Daddy Love and a Sad Good Bye...

Hi everyone!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you today and sadly, its my last time sharing my layouts here on The Cut Shoppe blog but its time to introduce some new members to the team for some fresh inspiration! These girls are super talented so watch out for their work!

Ashley has just included the gorgeous new 'All Heart Remix' cut file in the Cut Shoppe store so I jumped at the chance to use it on my final layout!

I cut the file out using white cardstock as I knew I wanted to back the hearts with different patterned papers. I played around for ages deciding which background cardstock I wanted to use, I pulled out American Crafts Black, Stone, Kraft and Smoke but finally decided I preferred just plain white!

I used the gorgeous American Crafts Amy Tangerine 'Stitched' collection for this layout...I still had some in my stash and I have been stash busting a bit so it was perfect to use! I find the 6 x 6 paper pads perfect to use for these times when using just little bits and pieces of paper!
I machine stitched through the hearts for added texture and to secure the layout. I used some Thickers for my title that I had in my stash however I didn't have a 'y' in this particular style so I improvised and made it with a 'u' and cut up the number '9' to use the tail of it! I am always doing this!
\
Thank you so much for joining me on the Cut Shoppe blog today and for all your lovely comments over the past few months...I hope I have inspired you in some way to use your Cut Shoppe files!

Happy creating, farewell for now....

I used the Right on Target cut file at the center of a large hand-stitched title.  And I completely backed the cut file with patterned papers from the Pink Paislee Bella Rouge collection.

If you would like to see how I created the stitched title and completed my layout, check out my new Process Video!

And even though, it's #Throwback Thursday, we do have two new cut files that have been added to the Shop this week.  The Just Be You cut file is a take on the title I used for my layout, and the All Heart Remix, is a fun redesign of the All Heart cut file!  Make sure you stop by the Shop to check it out!

Hello & Goodbye

We've got some changes coming to The Cut Shoppe, and we are saying hello to some new designers that will join us starting in June, and we are saying goodbye to several of our amazing current designers.  All of the Ladies that have been a part of The Cut Shoppe Design Team, from the beginning, have all done an incredible job.  I have loved working with each and everyone of them.  It's been fun to "meet" and work with so many of them and it's always hard to say goodbye, when it's time for anyone to leave the team.

Let's start out by welcoming our newest Designers!  They will begin posting their work in June, and I can't wait for you to see what they are creating!

We are so excited to have them join our DT family!  Make sure you visit their Blogs to find more of their work and connect with them on Social Media.

With the addition of our new DT members, there are several of our Ladies whose terms will end this month.  It has been a pleasure to have each of them on the Team, and see their amazing layouts each month.

Thank you so much Ladies, for all of your hard work over the past months, and we want to wish you continued success as a Designer!

I Love You a Bunch

Hey there!  Missy here today.  I have a fun and colorful layout to share with you all.  I used two awesome cut files today...Picture Perfect and Geometric Graffiti.  I've been wanting to use those geometric triangles for a while now, and I finally made them into a background.

Here is my layout.  I used two older Pebbles collections for this...Hip Hip Hooray and From Me to You.  They are both fun and bright, and so I chose lots of papers from both lines to back the triangles.  I traced the edges with a black pen to make them pop a bit more.  Once my background was finished, I used white gesso to prime the area behind the photo and then came in with some watercolors and gelatos.  I then just added in lots of fun little chipboard pieces, stickers and tangled thread.

I used the Picture Perfect frame on top of my photo.  As you can see, it is originally a rectangular shape.  I resized it and made it square since my photo was square.  I also machine stitched around the edges.

I added in some Thickers for my title and a fun Crate Paper rub-on down here at the bottom.  I actually went too fast when I was tracing and my black pen made a big mark outside one of the triangles.  So I covered it by adding in these cute sentiment stickers.

Here's another look at those beautiful triangles.  I love how the color mix turned out and how the watercolor looks blended over it all.  I did add a bit of washi tape and tangled thread under the photo.

Here's another angle of the fun frame.  I did add a Jillibean Soup stamp here...I stamped it on vellum.  It was an impulse decision simply because the stamp set was lying on my desk at the time and I just felt like using it!  Haha...the crazy mind of a scrapbooker, right?! :D

I did make a process video of the making of this page if you're interested in watching.  Here you go!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!
