Today

Holding on to scrapbook supplies and waiting for just the right project to use them with seems to be pretty common place. For me, this even extends to digital cut files and this next layout that I am going to share features a cut file that I have been patiently waiting to use.

The Little Letter's cut file appeared at The Cut Shoppe a few months ago in anticipation of all the back to school stories that were going to be recorded and I have finally found the time to use it! Yay!

The Little Letters cut file is an alphabet background, that can be used on your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

The Little Letter's cut file is an alphabet background and that is exactly how I chose to use it to tell my daughter's own story about how she rocked the first day of kindergarten!

Today

I worked on a 9x12 background and I sized the cut file to be even smaller than that with the idea that I would layer my papers and photo on top of it while leaving some white space. Since I thought that using an additional alphabet for my title would compete with an already busy background, I made sure to layer in a tag with a small title word.

Today 2

It felt really great to finally get a chance to use this fun background on my layout-almost as fun as listening to my daughter tell me all about her first day of school! Wishing you a great day!

Lake Hike

Hey there, friends!  Missy back with you today.  I have a layout to share using the Autumn Acorns and Tall Type cut files.

I used the Pink Paislee Cedar Lane collection for this.  I decided to scrap this photo of me and some of my friends on a cold November day by a mountain lake in Georgia.  We hiked all through a mountain trail that day and made our way down to the lake, and it was just beautiful.  I think the colors in this line really bring out the Fall "feel" of the photo.

I used some light kraft cardstock to cut the acorns.  I used some iridescent watercolors and gelatos to give the die cut some shading.  I wanted it to look somewhat weathered and dirty, so I used some browns.  I also splattered a bit of blue ink onto it.  I also used some of the blue watercolors on the background and then stitched with gold thread through each row of acorns once I adhered it down.

I used several patterned papers to back some of the acorns.  I didn't want them all backed, so I left a lot of them open.  I used some items from my stash, such as this flair button and wood veneer piece.  I love the idea of mixing light blue into a fall collection.

Here's a close-up of the acorns.  A few of the little thin strips did tear, but I like the way it looks imperfect.  My cutting mat is almost not sticky anmore, and my blade is close to needing to be replaced.  I used a 5 setting when I cut this, and it came through okay.  I like how you can see a lot of the watercolor from the background through the cut file.  I fussy cut that large flower from a piece of paper and layered it over the photo with some of the coordinating die cuts.

I love these letters turned out!  I cut them using a piece of light grey wood grain paper from the collection, but they blended in too much when I put them down.  So I took some white acrylic paint and dabbed some onto the letters using my finger.  I then used a dark brown gelato to cover the bottoms of the letters to make them look like they had been dipped in mud.  Finally, I added some gold glitter washi tape to back the open spots for a bit of sparkle.  Sometimes dirt and sparkle go together, right?  :D

Here's one more look at the acorns.  I also added some gold splatters and did my journaling at the bottom of the design.

Here's the process video if you'd like to see how this layout came together.  I hope it inspires you in some way!

Thanks for stopping by!

Pretty Fantastic

I am super pumped about all the new fall designs in the shop! I couldn't wait to use the beautiful and fantastically-named Autumn Acorns cut file.  The little patterns are so adorable!

Despite having such small designs, it cut beautifully from my Cameo (though it did take a long time). Such a beautiful cut file deserved to be back with beautiful papers! I used the Cedar Lane collection from Pink Paislee and backed the acorns with different sheets from the 6"x6" paper pad. I edited it in Silhouette Studio to make a few of the acorns solid because I was feeling lazy. That saved a little time when I was backing all the acorns!

And don't forget that you don't have to have a fall themed photo to use fall cut files. I just used a photo that had foliage in the background. Faux fall :) Have a fantastic day, and I hope you enjoy the new fall cut files!

Hello Love, Planner Bag

Aimee here, sharing my absolute favorite way to use The CutShoppe’s digital files:
Heat Transfer!

I am so in love with the heat transfer material from Silhouette and Circut. Im sure there are other brands available too. These 2 brands are the most available at Joanns Michael's and Hobby Lobby. I have used both companies, and feel they are pretty equal.

*Note be sure to follow the packages directions and your machines suggested settings.

Here I used The Cut Shoppe's "In Stitches" red heat transfer from Circut, on a denim tote I bought at Hobby Lobby.

Number 1 thing about this project: remember to flip your image! I forgot to flip the image when I sent the image to my Silhouette. I didnt even realize I had forgotten to flip it until I was done weeding the material. Instead of throwing the cut away {the material is not cheap} I thought I would rock a backwards design, doesn’t it look super trendy/hipsterish?

And of course I have to share my cute little photo bomber/prop modeling this bag!

Isnt this the cutest planner bag?!

I just love the red stitching on the denim.

Hello Lovely!

Hi! Irit here with a new layout using my favorite cut file- Fancy Feathers from the shop. Love feathers! I could use them on every layout without a problem. I enlarged one of the feathers and since I was already cutting something I filled the whole 12*12 sheet with feathers in different sizes (I show it in the video). Here's the finished layout-

The background paper I used is Pinkfresh Studio from the Happy Things collection, and then rest is from the Project Life Sweet range.

Here's the cut file I used here-

And the video-

Thanks for visiting and I'll be back soon with a new project. Have a lovely day!

You + Me = Us

It's officially my favorite time of the year, and I'm stopping in today to share a layout using one of my favorite new cut files with my most favorite Pink Paislee collection of all time!  Lots of favorites going on today!!  I used the new Fancy Feathers cut file on this layout, with the Cedar Lane collection from Pink Paislee.  This photo was taken a few days before the official start of Fall, but it was close enough for me!

https://www.etsy.com/listing/249153547/the-fancy-feathers-cut-file-includes-3?ref=shop_home_active_2

I started the layout by adding a few different colored patterned papers to the feathers that I flipped and cut on my Cameo.  Then I added some machine stitching to each of the feathers to add texture and interest.  I knew I wanted to layer my photo over the feathers, but I didn't want to completely cover them, so I clustered my embellishments around the photo.

I created a Process Video to go along with the layout, if you would like to check out my complete process!

And don't forget to head over to The Cut Shoppe to check out all of the new cut files that are now available!

Hello Friends!

Happy Wednesday! Candace here today to share with you my first layout for TCS!  I am so thrilled to be a part of the team and work with the amazing cutfiles!  For my layout I chose to use the Chevron Burst cut file that comes in the new Let's Cut Class!

I used the fabulous So Rad collection from Simple Stories to compliment the fun cut file.  In my silhouette software I cut the burst in half and lined it up along the left side of my paper.  So fun!
Here is a look at the final layout! To see the whole process video just click on the link below!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a rad day!

Dance!

Hi, it's Laura today. As soon as I saw the Get To The Point file, I knew I needed to make a shirt for Zumba!  I used the 8.5x11 cut,  in the Silhouette software. I love how all the arrows point into a perfect little circle. I used that space to add the word "Dance!"

I opened Get To The Point in my software, sizing it to the desired size. I then used the text tool to add "Dance!" and chose a font that had a feeling of fun about it and placed it in the circular space the arrow create.

After lining up the word just the way I liked, I grouped everything together by using the group icon in the bottom left of the program, then flipped it horizontally. I usually do this by right clicking and choosing the flip horizontal in the dropdown menu that appears. This step is super important or you will have a backwards design, which is ok if you desire people to be able to read your shirt in their rearview mirror. Not saying my dancing is bad or anything... I digress.

After making the cut, I weeded out all the vinyl I didn't need, leaving just the arrows and "Dance!" left on the plastic. I laid out my shirt, as centered as I could on my ironing board. I use a cloth napkin, over the plastic, to keep from melting it. Follow the directions for adhering your vinyl. I usually iron until it doesn't pull up and I can easily pull off the clear plastic, ironing again to really get a good stick.

Here is my shirt, already to go! I got to wear it for my first day of teaching a Zumba class!

Be sure to stop by the shop today and find the perfect cut for your next project.
