Fall in Love-Family
Hi friends so happy to be here again to share with you a fall layout. For today's layout I decided to use two cut files in the shop, Fall in Love and Thankful Tidings.
As soon as I saw these cut files I knew exactly what picture I wanted to use. This photo was taken of our little family in a grove of orange trees and I just adore how they turned out!
The Fall in Love cut file is so beautiful I knew I wanted to use it as a layering piece. Once I cut it out on my Silhouette I left the paper on the cutting mat and used distress ink to color the leaves. The Thankful Tidings cut file is perfect for titles on a layout so I used the "family" to title my layout. Here is a look at how the final layout turned out.
And a few close ups...
This was such a fun layout to create and I love the fall feel that the leaves cut file gives to the layout.
Just a heads up on super fun things that are happening next week! Make sure that you are stopping by the blog and the shop for all the fun and details!
Thanks again for coming by today! Have a beautiful day!

Thankful For You
Often times the fall season gets a little rushed for me as we all head towards the big Christmas holiday, but this year I have managed to keep my excitement for fall scrapping strong. Yay! And this is totally great for me--I love the fall season and all of the fall themes and photos that it brings.
My layout today is an example of all that I love about fall--the colors, the falling leaves, and the sense of gratitude and thankfulness that is forefront in my mind during this time of year. Luckily, The Cut Shoppe has a great variety of cut files to help me tell my autumn stories.
For this particular story I once again turned to my favorite Leaf it to Me cut file and paired it with the new Thankful Tidings cut file:
I really love how the Thankful Tidings cut file contains a big variety of traditional fall phrases. There are a total of eight phrases that I could use together or on their own as I did here:
I built my layout around the "thankful" title: I wanted it to be pretty big and in a bold plum color, so I went ahead with a simple linear design to let the title shine. By layering the leaves in two spots I not only softend the lines, but I worked in some complimentary colors.
Don't forget we have a Black Friday Sale happening right now! You can save 50% off of your purchase in The Cut Shoppe! This is a great time to stock up on your favorite cut files!

If your wondering about how I go about placing my leaf "piles," there really isn't any secret! My goal is simply to make them look like they do in real life. I place a group of leaves in the area I want them to go, make sure they are facing every which way, and then "rake" them into a pile. To adhere I simply hold them into place with one hand and dab a liquid glue underneath in a few spots. This keeps them from all laying flat and gives them added dimension. To add some extra hold, you could also stitch over them.

Together
Hey there, friends! Missy back with you today. I have an obsession with background cut files, and I couldn't wait to use this At An Angle cut file!
I shrunk the 8.5x11 cut file down to a smaller size and cut it on white cardstock. I used papers from the Simple Stories I Am collection to back the cut file and then adhered it to the background paper. I used white gesso over a lot of the area of the cut file and the background and then came in with ink sprays and gelatos to create a watercolor look. I do this a lot, don't I? Haha....I can't help it...I love it!
Here's a closer look at the cut file...it's such a unique and fun shape, and it's perfect for backing with patterned papers. I used gold thread to stitch through each row, and I stitched black around the edges of the entire cut file. I also added a bit of grey & white striped washi tape.
I used a few patterned papers behind my photo and then layered a flair button and few stickers and die cuts here. I love the look of the gelatos and spray inks here...it creates such a great texture and color.
I fussy cut those pretty flowers from patterned paper. I pulled in this Thicker from the Dear Lizzy Documentary collection. I love how it curves perfectly over that "enjoy the ride" banner die cut.
Here's another angle of the title area and below the photo. I love adding little details to my pages :)
And one more close up here...I added a little chipboard circle heart, a die cut tab and a fun sticker to the top of the photo.
Here's my process video for this page if you're interested in watching it come together from start to finish. I hope it inspires you in some way :)
Thanks so much for stopping by, and don't forget about the HUGE BLACK FRIDAY SALE going on NOW in the Shoppe!

So Cute & Loved Criss Cross Arrow Style
Katrina from Paper, Scissors and Glue today on the blog, sharing a layout with one of the new files, Criss Cross Arrows (12x12). Honestly I love a good cut file to get me out of a scrappy slump and that is just what happened when I saw this file.
Click on the Titles to go straight to the files!
And I also used a FREE cut file set that appeared on NSD day! The Etc. Etc. Etc. file is a fun one also! The "so loved" cut file with it's arrow just seemed meant to be for the layout.
To add a little fun to the background I cut strips of different papers to layer behind the arrow cutouts. I can tell you that if you have the arrows as a full background, like I do here, your strip will need to be around 2.5 inches wide. You may have to overlap a little, but not much, depending on how you place the cut file on your background.
Thanks for stopping by The Cut Shoppe blog today! If you are doing a little shopping for the whole "Black Friday" madness, head over to the Etsy Shoppe and pick up a few cut files while you are at it! And you won't even have to get up early or get out of your PJ's! Happy Thanksgiving to those who are celebrating!

Blessed
Hello friends! It's Thanksgiving week here in the US so I wanted to do a layout all about being grateful! There are so many fun cut files in shop to choose from!
I like to start with a background cut file and I chose the Quirky Quilt 2. You get three cut awesome cut files to use when you purchase this from the shop! I adhered different patterned papers into each "star".
For my title, I used a word from Thankful Tidings. You can choose from eight different words or incorporate multiple ones into your page.
How cute are these Thankful Tags? I used the "Family" tag to accent my photo.
On the other side of my photo, I used a cute frame plus a leaf from one of the border files in Fall Finds! I had it left over from another project and thought it would look cute on my page!
Thank you for stopping by! Don't forget each month you can link up your own layout using one of The Cut Shoppe designs on our blog! We would love to see your creations! Have a great day!
