Away We Go | A Two Page Layout With Theresa

Hello Lovelies! Theresa here today with something I don't do very often: a two page layout! I am using the Away We Go cut file, so let's have a look!

Here is my layout I created using the Away We Go cut file plus Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper Sunny Day.

This layout had such an evolution while it was on my desk, and I am so excited to share with you how it came about! I cut out the florals from one of the patterned papers in the Sunny Days collection, knowing I wanted to surround one side of the cut file with those flowers. I used two sheets of that patterned paper and then laid out the cut file with the flowers onto the background paper.

When I had that all laid out, I still had tons of those flowers left over and the layout did not feel "complete" to me. So I decided it could easily be a two page layout. I added the second background page and laid out the flowers in a vertical line on the opposite side, creating a sort of parenthesis.

I then backed the cut file with other patterned papers from the collection. I was really inspired by the indigo blue and have used that for the ocean in the cut file and for the words in the title.

Once I had the cut file backed I adhered it onto the background paper and then tucked all these gorgeous flowers around. I also tucked a few butterflies and word art around, and layered my photo on top.

For the right side of the layout I already had the flowers lined up so I glued those down and layered my photos like a photo strip. These photos are from a trip we took to Charleston, SC, in 2013. They are from visiting downtown and the Aquarium and feature our daughter Emberlynn. These layouts will go in her personal album.

To connect the two pages I used the indigo blues to create a sort of visual triangle across the page. The cut file with its brilliant ocean leads us to this side where we find blue butterflies and blue die cuts. Of course the flowers plus the touches of yellow and black tie all the elements of the layout together as well.

If you would like to see my full process video for this layout, you can watch here.

Thank you so much for joining me today for this two page scrapbook layout using the Away We Go cut file! Have you purchased this cut file yet? Please share your layouts with us and be sure to tag so we can see! See you again soon.

Delightful | Iris Fox

Hello lovelies! Iris here with a sweet layout that I made about my mama.  One day we were looking through old photos and she told me she'd been a model for a photographer.  I hadn't known that and thought it was so cool!  So I'd scanned the photo and had been hanging onto it until I found the perfect products to scrap it with.  And then along came the DELIGHTFUL cut file from The Cut Shoppe.

I cut it about 8x9, to have a great big title to back with all the pretty papers (which are from the Felicity Jane "Megan" kit). My mom's photo is 4x6, so everything together fills the canvas nicely.

I backed the cut file first with vellum to soften the prints, then distributed the patterned papers so that lighter and darker ones alternated.  Before I adhered it to the background I did a little mixed media - gesso, watercolor in a light pink, and some warm grey splatters.
I clustered embellies in a few key areas to move the eye diagonally - at the top where the D is, since it's a solid letter with lots of white space; where the cut file overlaps the photo in the middle; and at the bottom right corner of the photo.  The way the L ends under the photo and the embellishments are across from it gave me a natural place to put my journaling, which I did also in a warm grey.  I wanted to keep everything on this layout soft.

The pastels, butterflies, and all the vellum touches were just so delightful, I knew I wanted to use them with the DELIGHTFUL cut file!! ;)

Go visit The Cut Shoppe to snag this file.  I can see it being versatile with lots of different color ways and patterns.

And if you'd like to see how I put this together, visit my Youtube channel.

Lots of love,

Sand baby's castle | Sasha Biyanova

Hey friends!

It's Sasha here today with my new layout using the Sand Castle cut file from The Cut Shoppe!

My layout is about baby's castle from sand on our playground! I moulded it and my son broke the castle. This is so funny in his age))

I added flowers and a bird at my paper castle. And I love how the colors of the photo coordinate with paper.

And the bow as sun, I think it's really cute. My sand castle like a rainbow and I love the mood of this layout!

Thank you for stopping by today!
And happy crafting!!

Summer Sunshine with Joanna

Hi friends, Joanna Bandelin here sharing a sunny 12x12 scrapbook page. I used the Summer is Coming cut file and I just love all the things that add that summer feel!

I knew I wanted to cut out the cut file in some pattern paper for a change. I usually like to back my cut files with some fun papers, but I felt like this one didn't need it for the look I wanted.

I embellished the large title with lots of fun ephemera, little puffy stickers and arrows all from my stash.

I also added a few chipboard stickers and washi tape to add a border to the top and bottom of my page.

I love the end result and I hope you were inspired to created some summer scrapbook pages.

So Fun | Tarrah McLean

Hi Cut Shoppe friends!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you and today I am sharing a pretty layout using the gorgeous Dainty Doily cut file. I was totally inspired to use this cut file because of the Ferris wheel photo! I teamed with the Crate Paper Carousel collection and I love how it turned out!

Dainty Doily

I cut the cut file out from white cardstock as I knew that I was going to back it with a bright coloured paper. Once I had backed it, I machine stitched around the main circle to add texture and detail. I then added craft foam underneath to adhere it down to the background patterned paper, creating shadows and dimension. I then took some of the scallop stickers and added those tucked in around the perimeter to enhance the scallop design.
In the centre of the Dainty Doily cut file, I added a chipboard Ferris wheel and then placed my photo to the left of the centre. I added a few phrase embellishments to my photo that were suitable for the photo and also used some of the packaging under the photo to repeat the scallop design. I also added some embellishments to the top of the page to create a sense of movement.

My title was made up of the chipboard stickers from the Carousel collection and I added many other embellishments including puffy stickers, die-cuts, enamel dots and clear stickers to decorate my page and tell the story. Lastly I added the date stamp of the day I took the photo.

Thanks so much for stopping by The Cut Shoppe blog today!

Happy creating!

Discover | Kelly Janes

Hey friends! Kelly back today with a new layout using the Summer Vibes Cut File!

I recently took a trip to Los Angeles and I remembered how much I love palm trees. After I snapped this picture I text my husband (who was still home in Indiana) and told him we need to live where the palm trees grow. I knew I wanted to scrapbook this photo using the Summer Vibes Cut File.

I cut the palm trees using two patterned papers from the Pink Paislee Paige Evans Horizon Collection. I added machine stitching to each of the palm trees. I love the added texture stitching brings to a layout! I positioned the palm trees on the right and left of the layout with the photo in the bottom center.

Before adhering anything to the white cardstock background, I added a sunburst using an older stencil and a combo of modeling paste and yellow acrylic paint. I then adhered everything down to the background and added a few embellishments around the photo.

Thanks so much for spending part of your day with me, and remember to visit The Cut Shoppe Store to check out all of the cut files!

Summer IS Coming

Hey there! It's Devra here with you today with a project featuring the Summer is Coming cut file.

I cannot begin to tell you how much I love summer. Let me tell you, signs of summer are everywhere! One of my favorite things to do when its warm is to sit in the backyard in the morning, drinking coffee while listening to the birds sing. So this cut file is perfect!

I used AmyTangerine Stay Sweet papers to cut and back the file. I love using patterned paper to cut and back files! I added an extra strip of paper behind the line to add more color. My photo fit nicely tucked over and under some of the letters. I really love when a cut file is a little bit of everything: title, focal point and embellishment. It makes a layout come together so easily.

That's all I have for you today. Head over the The Cut Shoppe to gt this and so many other amazing cut files. Share what you make in our Facebook group! We always want to see your creativity. See you next time!

Delightful Little Girl | Erica Thompson

I am so excited about the new cut file release that happened yesterday! Check out all the new files!

I knew I had to use the Delightful file right away. I cut if out on some smooth white cardstock and backed it with papers from Photoplay Paper Snuggle Up collection.

I love the colors and patterns in this collection and of coarse the cute Koala bear and sloth. The photos are of our daughter Alyssa on the day she was born and then a couple days after she was born. Doctors told us she was a boy and at 6 months I went in for an ultrasound and they discovered she in fact was a girl! We were totally surprised and super excited!

She was a little love bug and when we brought her home from the hospital she was about 5 pounds and the tiniest little thing. We ended up having to get her preemie clothing and some were still to big for her. I knew these photos would be perfect with this file and collection. I love when Ashley releases the big word files like this! They are my absolute favorite and so easy to back and get a layout done. Make sure to check out the file HERE in the shop. Here is a look at my completed layout.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

NEW CUT FILES | Delightful

It's time for NEW Cut Files in The Cut Shoppe store!  We're ready for all things Summer, so today's designs are great for any summer themed projects.  I used the NEW Delightful Cut File for a large title on a layout in my Traveler's Notebook.  I always love backing large titles with my favorite patterned papers!

https://thecutshoppe.com.co/collections/new-designs/products/delightful

Since I was using a photo from the pool, I wanted to use the Crate Paper Sunny Days collection by Maggie Holmes.  I started by cutting down one of the 12x12 patterned papers to fit my Traveler's Notebook, for the background.  Then I cut the design from White cardstock.  I used different patterned papers from the 6x8 paper pad to back each letter in the title.

Once I finished backing all of the letters, I placed the cut file on my TN page to see where I needed to cut it.  I made a mark at the top and bottom of the cut file and then used my paper trimmer to cut it.  This way, you know it will match back up perfectly when you add it to your TN page.

I kept my embellishments contained to two clusters, because I was using the smaller TN format.  I used most of them around my photo and placed the second cluster near the "D".  I really like the diagonal look of the two embellishment clusters with the large title in the center of the page.

Make sure you visit The Cut Shoppe store to grab out 4 NEW designs!!  There are also a lot more summer themed cut files in the store, so don't forget to check them out while you're there!
