Stay Golden | Kelly Janes

Hey friends! Kelly back today with a new 12x12 Fall themed scrapbook layout using the Leaves are Falling Cut File.

I was actually intending on using the World of Octobers Cut File for my project today. But I stumbled on these letters that were left over from a previous project I created using the Leaves are Falling Cut File and a new idea popped in my head! I added hand stitching to each of the letters using white embroidery floss and positioned the letters at the top of the layout.

I've been LOVING using patterned papers as backgrounds lately, so I grabbed an ombre striped paper to use as the background and fussy cut a bunch of leaves from a different patterned paper from the Truly Grateful Collection.

I sprinkled those leaves down the layout and added just a few smaller embellishments in the mix of those leaves. I didn't want the journaling to distract from the colors on the layout so I added hidden journaling behind the photo. I used one of the fancy paper clips to help hold it in place.

This layout was so fun to put together and I'm SO glad that I saved those letters from my first project! It just shows the versatility of this cut file! Remember to visit The Cut Shoppe Store to check out all of the cut files, digital stamps and classes!

Pumpkin Patch by Audrey Yeager

'Tis the season for everything PUMPKIN!  I used the "Pumpkin Patch" cut file from the store for this page about our visit to the patch!

I wanted the pumpkin to be the stand out element on the page, and because the lines were very detailed, I didn't want to cut it too small.  In Silhouette Design Studio, I always draw boxes that are the size of my photos to help me gauge how big to cut a file. You can see that process in my video below.

Pumpkin Patch Cut File

I began by back the cut file (which I cut from white cardstock) with different patterns and shades of orange paper. For this particular file, I first traced each shape with a pencil and then cut it out and glued it to the file.

I wasn't thrilled about the white outline after I backed the file, so I went in with some watercolors and painted the white edges a corresponding color.

I used clear gesso on the background with some green inks and splatters.

Finally, I cut some simple leaf shapes from green paper and machine stitched over them to add some detail.

A few stickers and enamel dots finishes it off!

You can check out the entire process below:

Thanks for watching and Happy Fall!

October 31st | Tarrah McLean

Hi Cut Shoppe friends!

It's Tarrah back with you and today I am sharing some Halloween inspiration!
I am getting a little low on Halloween embellishments but still have loads of papers! I decided to enlarge and cut out the 31 in the star from the Wicked Fun cut file set. I cut it out from a multicoloured stripe paper and I was happy with how it turned out.

Wicked Fun

I decided to adhere the cut file straight onto some white cardstock, tucking part of my photo under the top right of the cut file. Because the paper I chose to cut it from has lots of colours in it, I was able to add lots of different coloured embellishments too!

I have been wanting to use up some of my Thicker stash lately too so I added 'October' over the cut file using some black chipboard Thickers. I had a web doily left over from another project so I tucked that into the bottom right of the cut file design. I then added a spider sticker over the top, it was the perfect addition to add to the web.

I used lots of other stickers, die-cuts and a super cute flair button too. I added some black cotton thread underneath the flair button and tucked some in over on the right hand side of the photo to balance it out.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you are inspired to create a Halloween project using some of the awesome cut files in store!

Happy creating!

Living The Dream layout | Kylie Kingham.

Hello friends! It's Kylie back with you today to share a new layout. It features the lovely Diamond Cut cut file.

I chose to work with a white background for my layout so that the coloured papers backing my cut file would really pop. I'm using the gorgeous 'Unforgettable' collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio and chose several varying papers to fill each square.A 1 x inch strip of paper was added to each side of my layout for a little extra colour.

I wanted the diamonds to be a main feature of my design so have added my photo to the lower left corner of my page. A small floral cluster was also added to the opposite corner, giving a nice sense of overall balance.

The lovely floral die cuts were added over my cut file with some foam tape so that they had some height and dimension.

The diamond background gives a lovely stand out finish to my layout, almost like a lattice effect. I loved being able to add so many different coloured papers to back each square.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today.I hope you have enjoyed seeing my latest layout.Don't forget to check out the latest new cut files in store today!

Make It Happen - Kim Jeffress

Hi there everyone!  Its Kim Jeffress  and I am happy to be back on the Cut Shoppe blog sharing my latest layout.  As I was searching the store I came a cross the "Make It Happen" cut file and it drew me in. I loved the retro vibe to it and I knew I wanted to use it on a layout straight away.

Make it happen

I started by cutting the "Make It Happen" cut file out onto some white textured card stock and then backed it with velum to create a translucent feel.

Make it happen

I then adhered it to the right side of my layout using pop dots to create depth and shadow to my layout. That is my favourite technique!

I added some of my ephemera and photos in and around the cut file, I also added one on top for extra dimension. I love how the white of the cut file pops against the colourful pattern paper from Heidi Swapp!

Thanks for stopping by today and happy scrapbooking!

Hello October Fun - Lisa Fonseca

Hey scrappy people,

it's Lisa back on the blog and today I'm sharing a new fall layout.

I used an older TheCutShoppe cutfile that I really like. It's called FALL FINDS and has got a few different designs. I  chose the one with the pumpkins and cut it out a few times to created this page full of pumpkins.

When my cutting machine was cutting out the cutfile, I went through my stash to find the papers that I wanted to use to back it. I had a few options but stuck with the Shimelle Box of Crayons paper pad. I thought that the collection had all the colors I wanted and that way it was also easy to use a photo with a lot of different colors.

I backed the cutfile with different patterned papers and love the result.

Then I adhered all of my pieces to a white sheet of paper and created a border for the page, by trimming the edges and adhering it to a mint cardstock sheet. I went over it with my sewing machine, giving it some more detail around the border.

I matted my photo on some gold and then some pink cardstock and I really love the gold frame... I think I have to do that more often ;)
I then placed my photo on the layout using foam tape.

As a title, I wrote "Hello, October fun". The yellow banner and pink letters are from the Shimelle collection and I found the gold and blue thickers in my stash.

To finish, I added a lot of enamel dots, using the same colors as the ones on the pumpkins. I also added some star and heart stickers from that same Shimelle collection.

I think it turned out really cute :)

Thanks for stopping by, see you soon!

Lisa

Love Language | Vânia Fonseca

Hello crafty friends! Vânia here with a new 12x12 layout using the Love Language cut file from The Cut Shoppe.

Really love all the speech bubbles in this cut file. And it was perfect to document a photo of me and my mum.
I chose to work on a patterned paper as background so i cut out the cut file using white card stock.

I used the Heritage collection from Maggie Holmes, and backed the speech bubbles with a couple of different patterned papers, a little bit inspired by patchwork.
On the top i add different kinds of stickers, die cuts, so i could have a lot textures.

Also leave some of speech bubbles empty, so i could stamp directly on my background and add one more layer to my page.

I used foam between the cut file and the background to give dimension. This way the heart really stands out from the background.

To finish my page i add some withe ink splatters.

Thank you so much for watching!
