Guest Designer | Sarah King

Happy Saturday everyone!  Today, we have an awesome Guest Designer joining us!  Let's welcome Sarah King!  Sarah is one of my fellow Team members on Hip Kit Club, and she always does an amazing job with cut files.  We are excited to have her on the Blog today, and to check out the gorgeous layout she created.  Before we get to Sarah's layout, let's get to know a little bit more about her.

My name is Sarah, I'm a stay at home mom of 4 kiddos and and awesome hubby,  I love them all so much! Ive been scrapping off and on for 21 years now and it never gets old. I love to play with paper and other pretty things. I love my firends and family, they keep me doing what I love.

I love that Sarah used a tone on tone look with the Geo to Go background cut file and added some fun layers with the Nautical Notions cut file set.  The pops of color look great against the White background!  Beautiful work, Sarah!

Be Original

Hey there!  Katrina, from Paper, Scissors and Glue, sharing a layout with you today using an old cut file and a new cut file!

I used the new "Girl Stuff" cut file for my title work.  The "be original" just went with the entire subject and it was fun to replace the dots for the i's with enamel dots!

Yep, I love to cluster!!!  LOL

And I used the "Words to Live By" set for this little card.  I just sized to fit my area and then backed with some fun papers.

Boys Rule

Are you ready for some awesome new Cut File sets!  This week there are four new sets in The Cut Shoppe Etsy store.  I created a layout with the new Boys Rule set.  I needed a break from girly layouts!  This set is perfect for the boys in your life.  I used several of the images from this set on my page.

I started my layout by enlarging the Boys Rule image.  I wanted it as the title, but also as a large element on the layout.  I backed each of the letters with patterned papers from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Made of Awesome collection and then machine stitched around each letter.  I also cut the sketchy circle with the star center and the multi sized star shape.  I like to create my own die cut embellishments to mix in with pre-made embellishments.  I finished the layout, with some Black Velvet Color Shine and the date from the Studio Calico large date stamp.

Life's Ruff

Hey crafty peeps, Aimee here sharing a super simple and easy layout using some printables from The Cut Shoppe!

Aren’t these 3x4 cards the cutest! I love how easy they are to work with. If you don’t pocket page scrap, but love the cards, this grid is a great way to use those cards on a layout.

 

I printed the cards on some pretty thick card stock, and just ran it through my photo printer.

 

I used some foam adhesive on my photo to “lift” it off the page giving a bit of dimension.

 

I also used some cut files for some simple accents.

                                give a dog a bone                                                                                            for the dogs

 

A little bit of splatter paint, machine stitching and puffy stickers and I have a layout that took less than 30 min!

Everyday Should Be Caturday

Laura here with you today. I've been fighting the flu this week. I've felt awful and not like doing much, but I've had this snuggle buddy to keep me company and warm. I saw the adorable kitty printables in the shop and knew the Caturday one would be purrrfect to use for this photo I took for my daughter to show how good her kitty was treating me. I found this seriously cute heart paper that complimented my printed card quite nicely, that I stitched down, then grabbed love heart from Notebook Doodles for my main embellishment and the heart from Hello Kitty to add with my wood veneer hearts. A pile of string and sprinkling of sequins finished off the piece.

Dive In & Swim

When a group of swim team friends gathered together for a picture at their end-of-the-summer-season party, it made for quite a colorful snapshot. I brought all those colors back when I created the layout below.

To contrast with the vivid papers and embellishments of my page, I cut a title and star flourish from black cardstock, using the Make A Splash and Let's Make Music cut files from The Cut Shoppe:

To tone down the stark black of the cardstock cuts, I spritzed them both with white mist. They still made quite a statement!

I love the contrast of black and white with the saturated teal, yellow and red of the patterned paper, enamel dots, tags, and acrylics. It's a wonderfully bold look, a look that works well for my colorful photo!
