Although the only watercraft I pilot are kayaks and canoes, I still can't resist the charm of anchors, lighthouses, and other such seaworthy symbols. To my delight, both are included with the Land Ho cut file set, as well as a few jolly good phrases. How perfect is that lighthouse on the page below!
Erected in 1858, this lighthouse has the distinction of being tended by female lightkeepers for more years than any other lighthouse in the U. S. One such keeper assumed the role after her husband died, tending the light for 53 years! Having survived scores of hurricanes, the Biloxi Lighthouse today is a Mississippi landmark and tourist attraction.

Cut from a grey print paper, my lighthouse was inked for dimension: black ink for shadows, white for highlights. A washi tape banner picks up the yellow, red, and navy of my papers:

Wow, it's hard to believe this is my last post here on the Cut Shoppe blog. It's Katrina sharing a layout with a couple of different cut files for you.
I started with the Picture Perfect cut file. I had only seen this used as smaller frames, so I thought it would be fun to make one big frame out of one of them. It was hard choosing, but this one was the only one that would fit my pictures! LOL
Next, I wanted to create a title, but wasn't sure what I was going to use. The Open Letter Alpha to the rescue! I first traced all the letters I needed and then played around with the sizes. I decided the i and c would look fun smaller than the rest. Once I got everything sized the way I wanted, I welded it all together for a fun title.

Hey, friends! Missy here with my last layout for this awesome Design Team. I want to thank Ashley for having me. I have truly enjoyed every second of my time here, and I will continue to use her awesome cut files!
I used the new Fresh Squeezed cut file for my layout, and I couldn't love it more!
I was in a stash-busting mood, so I pulled out the Crate Paper The Pier and Poolside collections. This is a photo of me and my husband in St. Maarten back in December. We were walking around Phillipsburg after lunch and stopped in at a gelato place. In the back they had this awesome little lounge area, so we sat, relaxed and took selfies :)
I used various papers from both collections to back these circles. I love all the fun and light colors. I was inspired by the bright blue and soft yellow in the photo. I worked in some wood grain as well. I used white gesso and Shimmerz sprays on the background to create messy blue/green watercolor effects behind the cut file. I used a ton of chipboard on this page...something I rarely do.
I have a few retro Summer flair buttons from A Flair For Buttons that matched perfectly with this page, so I had to use them. I love how these two collections work so well together. And I love using so many patterns like this on one layout.
I used a chipboard frame under my photo & paper layers and also a chipboard flower cluster. I have a ton of dimension going on here! I added pop dots behind the title and used some tiny Studio Calico wood veneer alphas to complete the title.
These tiny wood veneers are a challenge to get glued down because they're so small! But I got it done :) I used a Crate Paper jounaling sticker down here at the bottom to write about the photo.
It's Chipboardpalooza here...haha! Ice cream comes and word pieces...and I love how they all look together. Since we had just eaten gelato, these cones were perfect to use. I've had them for years and haven't had a use for them until now. That is a perk of hoarding...haha! There's another flair button as well. I added dark blue thread under the cones to give them some separation from the busy background. Without it, they sort of blended in. The thread helps them stand out a bit more.

Hi there! It's Flóra back on The Cut Shoppe blog with a summer, seaside layout. I chose the anchor from the new Land Ho cut file set to use this time. I over sized it as this is my favorite what I can do with a cut file. I thought it would be super fun to match it with the Crate Paper Bloom collection by Maggie Holmes. I know this does not have a typical nautical theme but you see everything is possible if you complement it with a appropriate colored cardstock.
For my background I chose this beautiful pink striped patterned paper (Crate Paper Bloom). In the first step I added some small white "bubbles" using a stencil and gesso.
Then I clustered the lovely pink, yellow and blue Crate Paper flowers on the left side of my photo. Then I started to work on my visual triangle added other different embellishments like cardstock stickers, puffy stickers, enamel shapes.
I finished the page with stamping. For this I used Lora Bailora stamps. In the end I wrote my journaling all around the layout.

There's noting better than a cold glass of Sweet Tea on a hot summer day! I used the Fancy Pants Attwell collection to document my photo of a glass of Peach Mango iced tea. It was so good!! The mix of colors from this collection are perfect for summer themed projects and I used a mix of the patterned papers from the 6x6 paper pad to back the Right On Target cut file from The Cut Shoppe Etsy store.
I also used the Open Letter Alpha cut file to create a large title for the layout. I welded the letters together for the title, Tea Time, backed the letters with patterned paper and adhered them to the layout on an angle. I finished the layout by adding a mix of embellishments from the Attwell collection around the Right On Target cut file.
