I Love the Life We Live

Is it too early to wish you a Happy New Year? I'll do it anyway, HAPPY NEW YEAR! Imagine me throwing confetti in the air and blowing one of those noisy horns in your ear!.

I am pretty excited about 2015! I'm ready for it!

I chose the Make It Merry cut file from The Cut Shoppe, for this layout. I have wanted to use this paper for quite some time and I thought it would be perfect for this project to feature the stars on this bright paper from MAMBI. The photo is actually an older photo of the boys, but I felt like it fit with the rest of the layout beautifully!

Overall, I kept the layout relatively simple, that isn't always the case. But, I really want this photo, their expressions and the story it's telling to be the focal point.

I took two close up photographs to show you the detail in the star designs.
I love that they have both positives and negatives throughout the entire design.
You really should try it with patterned paper!

Don't forget today is the last day to snag up all the great cut files to use throughout the year! Use code MERRY25 to say 25% on your purchase!  I can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks for stopping by!
Happy New Year!

Parade fun

Hey everyone, Amy here to share a layout I created using the Bitty Borders cut file, which I just love!

Here's the layout I created.

I managed to use the cut files in a couple of different ways. I used the negative of the plus sign as a mask with mist, then stitched down some of the plus signs as well.  Then I cut apart the border and put them all around my page.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

Xmas Lights

Hi everyone,

I hope you had a great holiday!  Gina here, and I am excited to share a new layout with you using the Make It Merry cut file.

To Create my layout I took the Make It Merry cut file and cut it from Candy Cane Lane paper, ande adhered it to white cardstock.  Then I repeated the pattern to cut the stars several times from different pieces of patterned paper.  I adhered the stars, photo and embellishments and then used a needle and embroidery floss to outline a few of the stars.  I love the way the stitched stars stand out on the page!

Naughty or Nice?

Hi there everyone!

It's Tarrah back with you today.....I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas?!!

I am popping by to share a layout that I created using 3 of my favourite cut file sets from the Christmas range in The Cut Shoppe store right now!

I just love that you can cut any file with any type of medium....for my cut files on this layout, I have used mostly cardstock but you can use patterned paper or vellum as well....the list goes on!
I teamed up the awesome cut files with the Heidi Swapp 'Believe Collection' and some of my favourite pieces of Christmas wood veneer...

The cut files I used on this layout are:

The Naughty and the Nice from the 'North Pole' set

The middle tree from the 'Season's Greetings' set..

The Merry Frame from the 'Christmas Captured' set..

Thank you so much for stopping by today...I hope you didn't eat and drink too much!!

Snowflakes & Pineapples

You might ask how snowflakes and pineapples can even relate to one another... the answer?
They don't. Haha. Except when they're in the same blog post, like today.

It's Heather here to share a couple of projects with you!

I made this layout with the snowflake diecuts from the Winter Weather cut file. I'm pretty sure I could create hundreds of projects with just this one cutfile. I think it is my fave. :) Also that little heart snowflake on the bottom left is a FREE cutfile from a past newsletter. Be sure you're signed up for the newsletter to snag all those free files!

I wanted this page to be very colorful, so I backed the snowflake diecuts with some bright patterned paper. After backing the diecuts with paper, I sewed over them with some grey/silver thread.

This past weekend, my dad, sister, and I took a little weekend getaway trip to the beach. Of course it was a little chilly, so I thought the snowflakes would give a nice "cold" feel to the page.

And now on to the pineapples! :)

I had this brilliant-not-so-brilliant idea to make a stencil from a piece of paper. My original plan was to make GOLD pineapples. So trendy, right? First I heat embossed them, using the diecut stencil I created from the Prickly Pineapple cutfile. But my gold embossing powder was way too dark. So next I tried gold paint. Nope. Didn't like it. So, I ended up just using some basic yellow watercolor paint and BAM! Loved it. :) And you can see that I got my bit of gold touch in the form of a doily. So not all is lost.

The pineapples just add a little cute whimsical feel to the card, don't you think?

So that's it for today, folks! Thanks for joining me!

Like

Hi everyone, it's Danielle here with you today. I hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas with all your loved ones!

Today I have a layout to share about one of my very favorite places in the world: San Francisco! I had to take a pic of the Fisherman's Wharf sign, it's a big like in my book! The Word Art cut file was a perfect fit for this layout and I decided to make a big title with it.

This is the complete Word Art cut file:

Thank you for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Christmas Goodies

Hey there!  It's Missy here today.  I have a fun and colorful Christmas layout featuring two awesome cut files.  I used the Christmas Captured and Season's Greetings, which are so fun and festive :)

Christmas morning photos are always so full of color, and it's hard to find papers and embellishments that match all those busy colors.  And I never want to change these types of photos to black and white.  So I just decided to get creative with the cut files and create my own background color scheme.

I used those adorable frames and cut several of them out in various patterned papers.  I took my square acrylic block that I adhere my clear stamps to and dabbed various ink colors on it.  I spritzed it with a little bit of water and used it as a stamp all over the white cardstock.  It creates a messy square watercolor look.  It's a great way to get a controlled look, if that makes any sense.

I layered all those frames and then used some light blue thread to stitch them down.  The papers I used are from the Chickaniddy Crafts Jolly Good line.  The cute number circles and enamel stars are from the same line.  These frames are so fun to use in different ways than just framing a photo.

I just love these Christmas trees! I cut them in white cardstock and then took a green chalk ink and a light green gelato and smudged it all over the tree part.  I used a brownish/gold gelato for the trunk and a yellow one for the star on top.

One more close up of the die cuts, messy background and fun layers.

I hope this inspires you to use some of these fun die cuts in a different way than they were intended.  Who says a frame has to actually frame a photo?  You can do just about anything with these.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful Christmas, friends!
