Hi! Orange Gearle here with a new layout for you using April's Freebie FriYAY cut file called Geo Florals.  Here is my layout:

I started with the cut file on a full 12x12 page. Then I deleted a few of the flowers to leave some empty spaces. Finally, I turned three of the florals into stitching lines. Then I cut the file and got busy!

 

I backed my flowers with papers from Page Evan's Turn the Page 2x2 pad. I used a few pieces from the 6x6 pad as well. Here are a few close ups.

I fussy cut some flowers from the 6x6 pad to use as embellishments, added a few paint splatters and some enamel dots to finish it off.

I made a video of my process if that is something that suits your fancy! I have also added a short tutorial that shows how I change the cutlines to stitching lines in my Silhouette software.

FREEBIE FRIYAY | Geo Florals

Hi there friends!  We've got something fun kicking off this month...Freebie Friyay!  On the first *Friday of each month we will have a new FREE Cut File for you to download, here on the Blog.  This month's FREE design is the Geo Florals cut file.  I love this type of cut file because it can be used in so many different ways.  You can download Geo Florals by clicking on the image below, and check out some inspiration from the layout I created!

I wanted to use the cut file as is, so I could bring in different patterned papers from the Pick Me Up collection from Pink Paislee.  I did want to do something to give the layout dimension, so I did pop up some of the hexagon florals with pop dots, instead of having them flat on the page.

I love that the shapes from the cut file, mixed with the patterned papers did most of the work for me on the layout.  Once I had the background design completed, I just had to add my photo, title and a few embellishments to finish the layout.
