You & Me

Hello and Happy Friday!  Gina here with you today and I have a layout using the brand new Sweet Hearts and Love Letters cut files!  I loved taking one of the hearts from the Sweet Hearts set and enlarging it to use on my layout.

To create my layout, I began by painting watercolors on a white cardstock background.  I also flicked white paint and gold spray mist across the page.  Next, I enlarged my heart and cut it out of white cardstock.  I backed a few of the open spaces with patterned papers.  Next, I cut out my title a small heart and a few + signs and added them to my page.  I added my photo and a few cardstock embellishments, thread and buttons.

Happy Moments

Hey! It's Heather here to share a new layout I made with the AWESOME "Let Them Eat Pie" cut file! I loved this pie chart/sunburst shape, and I immediately knew I needed to back each piece with patterned paper. 'Cause that's what I do. :)

This is honestly the first time I have ever cut one of my photos into a shape other than a circle or square. And I kinda liked it! Something different.

After picking all my papers, I decided to hand stitch the entire shape. Wow. That took a long time. But really, it was worth it.

I used one of the shapes from the "Because I'm Happy" set for the title, Originally my title was going to be "happy girls," but I changed it to "happy moments" when I found the little phrase diecut in a pack of Heidi Swapp ephemera.

So there you have it! I haven't made a center-focused page like this in a while. It just goes to show how awesomely diverse these diecut files are!

Summer Love

Hey there!  Missy here with you today :)  Even though it's January, I have been in the mood to scrap Summer pictures.  I have so much Summer stash on my shelves, so I pulled out my Echo Park stack and came up with this bright and fun layout.

I used both my Cameo sketch pens and the blade on this layout.  I used the Totally Triangles and Word Art cut files shown here.

I started with white cardstock.  I shrunk the Totally Triangles cut file down and traced it with my black sketch pen.  Then I covered the whole design with clear gesso and then used a blue watercolor marker and some water to messily color in the triangles.  I layered some patterned papers under the photo, added some white gesso & watercolors and finished the cluster off with some flair pins, stickers and thread.

I cut LOVE from the Word Art file and decided to place it vertically.  I found some awesomely bright rub-ons in my stash and they adhered perfectly over the cut file.  That was a pleasant surprise because you know how tricky old rub-ons can be.

Here's a close up of what the sketch pens can do.  Instant patterned paper!  And you can shrink the files or blow them up...so many possibilities!

I just LOVE this cut file!  I made it rather large for this particular design.  I also decided my journaling needed to be vertical as well.

One more close up...I just love all the rainbow colors!  They all matched the colors in my daughter's swim suit so perfectly.

I hope this gives you some ideas on using the sketch pens.  They really are fun and can give you a completely different look.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hey everyone, Amy here to share a layout I created of my sweet boy wearing his first set of hockey gloves to his preschool.  I mean really, could he be any cuter?? I used this fabulous cut file, Let Them Eat Pie.

Here is my layout.

I simply enlarged the cut file that I wanted to use to fit my page, and backed the spaces with different patterned papers.  I adding in some embellishments and stitching and was done.

Love...

Hi everyone!

Tarrah back with you today to share not one but 2 layouts with you featuring some of the beautiful cut files from The Cut Shoppe Etsy store!

I enlarged the 'Love' Pop Cap cut file from the Pop Cap Cut File Set and cut it out on white cardstock, I then machine stitched around the outside of the LOVE and the outer edge also...

I used all different American Crafts collections on this one Dear Lizzy's 'Daydreamer' Amy Tangerine's 'Cut & Paste' and 'Stitched' and Shimelle's collection...

I also used the 'Love Us' arrow from the Write This Down cut file set...

Here is the second layout that I am sharing.....
I wanted to show you that I made use of the 'LOVE' title from the previous layout that I cut....I machine stitched it to the bottom of my layout...

I used the 'Always' arrow from the Write It Down cut file set on this layout too...

I used Amy Tangerine's 'Stitched' 'Cut & Paste' and 'Plus One' for this layout...

All the Things!

Hello! I'm REALLY excited about today's layout!  Often times you get a paper collection with a few papers with very large prints that you just can't figure out what to do with. I had the chance recently to work with Webster's Papers Beautiful Chic and this "ALL THE THINGS" cut file from Ashley at The CUT SHOPPE!!

I LOVE this cut file and it comes with a really awesome hashtag cut, too!
I already have plans for that one too, but I'll share that another time.

I decided to go big or go home. That's the motto, right? If you are going to do it, do it up big! I made the ALL THE THINGS cut pretty big and used it on this cherry blossom paper.  I placed it, walked away, and came back and knew that's exactly what I wanted to do with it.  Sometimes you need to just walk away and see if you are still in love with it when you come back. I definitely was!

The layout is relatively simple, but I'm really pleased with it. I feel like the emphasis is definitely on the photo and the cut. It makes me happy.

Be sure to check out this and all of Ashley's other files in the shoppe!  Thanks for stopping!

Pineapple Art Print

Hi everyone,

I hope your Friday is off to a great start!  Gina here, and I am excited to share a new project with you using the Prickly Pineapple cut file.

To create my art print I cut out the Prickly Pineapples cut file using my Silhouette Cameo.  Then I used it as a mask.  I painted over it with watercolor paints onto watercolor paper using a water brush. Once it was dry I framed it.  This simple art print will make a sweet addition to any room.

Pink Pea Coat

I have a confession to make...I really love background cut files!  They are one of my favorites to use, when I am creating a layout.  So when you visit The Cut Shoppe, you will probably notice a "couple" or 50 background cut files!!  :)  I couldn't wait to try out the newest background, Totally Triangles, with lots of overlapping skinny Triangles.  So it is making a debut on the new layout I'm sharing today!

I cut the Totally Triangles 12x12 background on White cardstock, and wanted to layer it over a floral patterned paper included in the Dear Lizzy Serendipity collection.  Then I chose four other patterns from the 6x6 Serendipity Paper Pad, hand cut them into skinny triangles, and layered them randomly under the background cut file.  Once I had the background cut file in place, I sprinkled it with some Primrose Color Shine, and used a Pink Gelato to draw over a few of the areas and smudged the color with my finger.  I kept my photo, title, and embellishments clustered together, to draw attention to my photo, since I went with such a busy background.  I also incorporated the new Candid Camera cut file, and cut the word Hello to add to my page.  These words all have a brush script look and can be used in lots of fun ways on your projects!

You can stop by the Shop today, and check out all three new cut file sets!  I haven't had a chance to use the Let Them Eat Pie set, but I can't wait to play with that one!  And I've seen what some of the DT Ladies have done with it, so look for their layouts coming soon!
