Welcome to our Halloween Blog Hop! We've got some amazing inspiration, cut file giveaways and a $25 Gift Certificate giveaway! Make sure you visit each designers Blog, because they will be giving away their favorite Fall/Halloween cut file during the Hop, through November 2nd! And we also have a FREE Halloween cut file to share with you! Make sure you read all the way down, to download the cut file.
We are kicking things off here on The Cut Shoppe Blog, and I have a layout to share with you using the Very Squarey background cut file and the Spooktacular Cut Ups.
I started my layout with the Very Squarey 8.5x11 background cut file, and enlarged it a bit in Silhouette Studio. Then I removed some of the squares from the bottom portion of the cut file. Next I cut it from a Black & White striped paper, and removed the paper from the mat once it was cut, leaving the squares on the mat. I placed the die cut piece over my background paper and traced some of the square shapes, so I could stitch them with embroidery floss. Then I placed some of the patterned paper squares from the mat back in place, by using the 12x12 cut piece as a stencil.
The Cut Shoppe is giving away a $25.00 Gift Certificate! A random winner will be announced on the Blog on November 6th, along with the cut file winners from each of the Design Team members' Blogs.
TO WIN: Just leave a comment on this post by November 2nd and tell us your favorite Fall or Halloween activity/tradition!
Before you head to our first Designer's Blog, we have a Free Cut File to share with you! Just click on the image of the Haunted Halloween cut file to go to the Download page or click HERE.

DeleteJust finished the hop and there are some amazing projects! You have an awesome DT! Every fall we rent a cabin in the Adirondacks during the peak foliage time. It is a great way for our family to get away and enjoy the woods and beautiful colors and to spend a lot of time bonding!
ReplyDeleteFabulous page! So clever how you used the awesome Very Squarey file and added stitching to your background! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love having the trick or treators come to our house! It's fun to see them all excited about getting dressed up and going from door to door to get their goodies! I actually missed this a lot when my kids were younger and needed a chaperone for trick or treating (some parent I am, huh?)
Thanks so much for sharing this fab cut file and the inspiration today!!!

ReplyDeleteMy fav tradition is to carve pumpkins! But one that's been a tradition in our family since before I can remember is that we ALWAYS have hot dogs for dinner on Halloween! Just because they were quick and we could go trick or treating right after! It's funny, but it's always been like that and still is with our kids now too!
ReplyDeleteI love taking walks and looking at all the beautiful colors. Love the stitching you added!
ReplyDeleteGreat layout!! Thank you so much for the free cut file (LOVE IT!) & the opportunity to win the gift certificate! Our favorite tradition is the Halloween parade that the school puts on for the kids so this cut file is perfect!!
ReplyDeleteOur family love to go to Bob Evan's Farm Festival and walking/driving around the parks to see leaves for outdoor Fall activities :)
ReplyDeleteCarving Pumpkins! I also love taking the boys trick or treating. AND that first cool morning fall run is always my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI live near the ocean and we travel to the mountains for fall color change. Always find great picture ops
ReplyDeleteLove the page. That square file is awesome. My traditions have changed so much since my boys are now in their teen years. Suddenly chili, trick or treating and coming home for hot chocolate to warm up again aren't on their list of priorities anymore...:(
ReplyDeleteI love this background cut file... I don't have any trick or treaters where I am now but I used to make the older kids (teens) do a dance before a gave them their treat... It made for lots of fun for both me and them... happy halloween!
ReplyDeletemy favorite Halloween tradition is carving pumpkins with my 3 kiddos and helping them get their costumes on. And taking pictures of all of the activity for my scrapbooks. We had rain last night but it didn't stop my kids from getting a ton of candy, but my photography was limited (I didn't want to ruin my camera or phone:(
ReplyDeleteLove all the wonderful projects and thanks for the cut file! One of my favorite traditions is to go for a fall drive thru the mountains with my family:)
ReplyDeleteApple bobbing for me! My kids love it too.
ReplyDeleteWe all get together and enjoy an evening of pumpkin carving and painting. Everyone comes in costume for a fun evening of creativity.
ReplyDeleteCarving pumpkins. I am excited to start the traditions with my daughter.
