Things may have changed around here, but cut files will still be coming your way here and there! Today, I have four new designs that have been added to The Cut Shoppe Etsy store! We recently visited The Silos in Waco, TX, and I had a photo that I couldn't wait to get on a layout. Actually, it inspired the Wonky Windmill cut file that I used on the layout.
I thought the Chasing Dreams collection by Maggie Holmes would be perfect for a layout about The Silos. It definitely has that shabby, farmhouse feel. I cut the Wonky Windmill to fit the 12x11 background paper...but I actually used one of the Oasis papers for the windmill. I love how the Crate Paper collections coordinate so well together. Then I backed the open sections of the windmill with patterned papers from the 6x6 paper pad and machine stitched around the cut file.
I used pop dots to adhere the Wonky Windmill to the background paper, so I could create dimension behind the cut file. I clustered all of my embellishments around the photo on the layout. I love the contrast of the black & white from the photo, with the soft colors of the Chasing Dreams collection. I also wanted that contrast for the title, so I cut my letters from Black cardstock on the Cameo.
You could use this cut file in so many other ways, and I hope you've been inspired today to use it on one of your upcoming layouts! There are also 3 other new designs that you can find in The Cut Shoppe Etsy store, so make sure you stop by to check them out.
So lovely Ashley!
