Pretty Little Studio and The Cut Shoppe Product Swap - DECEMBER JOY

Welcome to the second day of the Pretty Little Studio and The Cut Shoppe product swap.

Nathalie here with a new layout using a few images from the Tinsel Town, and the Misc. Mistletoe cut files along with the new Tinsel Town collection by Ashley Horton for Pretty Little Studio.

The background of the layout was created by using the Tinsel Town cut file.  I simply welded the star shapes in rows forming a triangle shape.   Then I used the tree  outline image of the cut file and welded the pieces together.  Once the cut-out was created, i used the papers from Pretty Little Studio's  Tinsel Town collection to back all the stars.  A large vellum triangle was glued behind the entire image, and to add more interest, I simply stitched along the edge of the tree with gold embroidery floss.   The large acrylic star comes from the collection's Twinkle Accents.

The beautiful papers, and embelishments of the  Pretty Little Studio's Tinsel Town collection were perfect to frame the layout, and the picture of my little nephew trying to touch the Christmas tree star.  Here are some close ups:

For the title of this piece, I went into the Cut Shoppe's blog for one of last year's free cut files,  Misc. Mistletoe.  I cut the words from the Gift Wrap paper from the Tinsel Town collection.  An offset to the words was also created on the software, and cut on white card stock.  I simply glued the words to the offset, this brings out the title when added to the project.

Be sure to check the Pretty Little Studio to see what their DT is creating with our cut files, and to pick the beautiful collections they have in the PLS store, including Ashley Horton's Holiday collection, Tinsel Town.

If you want to check the cut files used in this layout (and the many new cut files available), stop by the Cut Shoppe store and take advantage of the month long 31%off sale (use the code MERRY31 at checkout).

Halloween Boo!

Hi crafty friends! Kelly here today sharing a fun Halloween layout using the Ghost Town Digital Collection and the Wicked Fun Cut File.

For my layout today I knew I wanted to use multiple images from the Ghost Town Digital Collection! I used my wide format printer to print a 12x12 pattern paper from the collection to use as my background. I then used the Print Then Cut feature on my Cricut Explore for a few of the ephemera pieces included within the collection. Keep in mind there are maximum sizes for the Print Then Cut feature. For easy reference I've created a diagram posted below. You can also find more information on Cricut's Website.

I also used the "patterns" feature within Cricut Design Space to cut the bat from the Wicked Fun Cut File. I love this feature within DS because it allows me to size the patterns to fit within the image. This way I don't have to print the entire pattern on a sheet of cardstock! I've included how to use the "patterns" feature in my process video.

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays to scrapbook. I think it's because I only create a few pages a year and then I tuck away all of the papers, ephemera, photos, etc so when I grab my Iris container (okay let's be honest...it's containers...not container ha!) it is like seeing new product for the first time! Fun products like the cut files and ephemera pieces just add to the fun!

Here's the process video I promised! I have also had multiple requests to create a video showing how to upload cut files from The Cut Shoppe into Design Space from start to finish. That is coming within the next couple weeks so keep your eye on my YouTube channel!

Thanks so much for joining me today!!

Fall Snuggle

Hello everyone!

Nathalie here with you today to share a new fall layout for the Cut Shoppe using three cut files from the store:  Boys Rule, Leaf it to Me, and Oakley Avenue.

For this layout, I started by using the scribbled star  image  of the Boys Rule cut file to create the circles on the background ( i just cut out the star on the file),  I backed the circles with vellum, and added some hand stitching around the edge of the circle.  The leaf shapes of the Oakley Avenue, and Leaf it to Me  cut files were used to create all the leaves in the design.

I used vellum, and papers from Ashley Horton's Oakley Avenue collection for Pretty Little Studio  to  create, and back the leaf cut-outs (from the Leaf it to Me, and Oakley Avenue cut files).   The rest of the embelishments come from the Oakley Avenue collection.

I hope this inspire you all to visit the Cut Shoppe Etsy store, and pick some of  the many designs available.  There is so many to choose from  that can be used to document your memories.   Remember to link your finished projects to the blog, or tag The Cut Shoppe when you share your projects on social media (#thecutshoppe).  We love to see what you are creating!

Thank you for visiting today.

See you all soon!
