fall favorites | iris fox

Hello friends! Iris here ready to shed summer and head into my most favorite time of the year, Fall. So when Ashley designed the new Fall Favorites Digital Stamp, I couldn't wait to play with them.  Nevermind that it's just the end of August. And since Fall is my love language, it was completely fitting that I document my love for fall with the new cut file called Love Language.

A heart with a bunch of speech bubbles, how fab is that?!  To begin, I cut the Love Language cut file out of white cardstock twice, because I had plans to tuck some elements under and knew it would look better if the whole cut file was raised.  In the Silhouette Studio, I decided where my pictures would go, which gave me the dimensions I'd need to print them at. I also opened individual PNG files that come in the Digital Stamps, copied my favorites to the same design space that my cut file was on, and resized them into the speech bubbles I wanted them on.  Then I moved them onto an 8.5x11 space and sent them to my printer directly from Silhouette Studio.

To add a different element, I printed the Digital Stamps on vellum.  I absolutely love how crisp the black words look on the vellum, and how they still let the background show through.

With the whole layout planned out in Silhouette Studio, it all came together easily.  It took some time to cut everything and back the file, but as usual it's totally worth it!

I tucked some fabric leaves from my stash in 3 spots, and added embellishments from Ashley's Oakley Avenue Collection from Pretty Little Studio. Totally unplanned but totally perfect!  This includes the flair along with the title acrylic and little word strip.  In my clusters I added and a few misc brads and enamel dots.

I did add white splatters onto my background before settling the cut file on top, and to tie everything together I added more splatters in aqua and orange, concentrating on the areas around the embellishment clusters.

This layout, with the super fun Love Language cut file and Fall Favorites Digital Stamp set was such a treat to work on!  Stop by The Cut Shoppe to check these out and the other fabulous digital stamps that Ashley just added to the shop.  They add a whole new dimension of fun!

Happy Fall!

Hey friends! It's Monique on the blog today and I'm so excited to share my layout with you. I created today's Fall layout with The Cut Shoppe's Oakley Avenue cut file and the matching paper collection "Oakley Avenue" from Pretty Little Studio, which is also designed by Ashley Horton.

and this is the cut file, which you can find in the Etsy Store HERE.

I chose the leaf and cut it 32 times from 4 different sheets of paper and adhered them evenly over my white background. Next I machine stitched them horizontally and then built the rest of my page from there. I matted the photo, found this perfect foxy 3x4 journaling card to place right next to it and added a few fun die-cuts, some word stickers and a flair button. Last but not least came the paint drops and I was done.

This is all from me today. Thank you so much for stopping by to take a look! Be sure to check out all the fun cut files in The Cut Shoppe Etsy Store before you go.

Until Next Time, Happy Scrapping!!

Love Fall

Hello! Candace here with you today to share a fun fall layout using the Flock of Feathers 12x12 cut file.  I love this file!  It has so much detail and is so versatile!

I cut this file out of white card stock and cut it up to separate the feathers and have already used it on 4 different projects!  Today I wanted to use the feathers on a nice fall layout.
I started with a white 12x12 cardstock and stitched a big circle 3x around the edges.  Next, I placed the the vellum backed feathers and my photos around the stitching.
For my large title I used embellishments from the Oakley Ave collection from Pretty Little Studio.  I added the final details to the layout with a little more stitching and a few gold ink splatters.  Here is a look at the final layout!

A few close ups of the details...

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope this inspires you to cut up one file and try using it on multiple projects too!  Have a beautiful fall day!

Love Fall

Hello there, friends. I'm back today with a new layout featuring the beautiful Oakley Avenue collection designed by Ashley Horton and one of the cut files in the Wreathed in Love set available in The Cut Shoppe Etsy store.

I knew I wanted to back the cut file with the Leaf Love patterned paper in the collection, but I also wanted to be able to put embellishments on it. I chose to add an extra layer of vellum in between the cut file and the paper to soften the image, then fussy cut some of the leaves out of the same patterned paper (I used the vellum version of it) and stitched them here and there inside the circle.

I also stitched the top and bottom portions of the circle and the sentiment, to make them stand out more.

Some Fall Florals, die-cuts and enamel dots finished the layout.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my process. Check out The Cut Shoppe Etsy store for this and many more awesome cut files.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great day!

Fall Love

Hello!

Today i am bringing you a layout about some of my favorite subjects: my kids and fall.   For this page i am using one of the new designs available at the Cut Shoppe Etsy store, "Flock of Feathers", and the beautiful "Oakley Avenue" collection by Ashley Horton for Pretty Little Studio.

During the fall, it is a tradition in our household to go apple picking on Thanksgiving weekend (here in Canada, we celebrate Thanksgiving the second weekend of October), so I have lots of pictures of my kids at different ages at different apple orchards.  Since, i wanted both the picture and the background to stand out, I decided to use just one of the rows of feathers from the 8.5x11in version of the Flock of Feathers cut file, and enlarge it to fit into a 12 in width.

I used the knife tool on my Silhouette Cameo to isolate the row of feathers, and i use the Edit points tool to join all the lose lines left in the cut.   The cut-out was then backed with the different papers from the collection (the colors are so vibrant, you can help but try and use all of them!).  A little bit of machine stitching added just a bit of texture, and secure the cut-out in place.   Since in the picture, my kids are standing on a ladder, I chose to flip the feathers, as if they were cascading down the page.

Like i mentioned before, i wanted to highlight both background and picture, so I used just a few die cuts from the Oakley Avenue collection to create little clusters around the picture.  Here are a few close ups of the layout:

I really liked how the the beautiful Oakley Avenue collection worked with this awesome cut file to create a soft but vibrant look on this layout.   I hope this serves as inspiration to print your fall pictures, and pick some of the Cut Shoppe cut files to document those beautiful memories.  Don't forget to link your projects to the blog, and tag The Cut Shoppe on social media (we love to see how you are using the cut files!)

Thanks for visiting today!

Sharing the Fall Love

Hello Cut Shoppe friends! Today I am sharing a fall-themed layout created using the Wreathed in Love cut files from The Cut Shoppe Etsy Store and Pretty Little Studio's Oakley Avenue collection by Ashley Horton.

This photo of the tree in my yard is perfect with the reds and golds in the Oakley Avenue papers and embellishments. To begin, I splattered some black paint on white card stock. Next, I used the clear Pretty Poppies paper and cut the wreath with my Silhouette Cameo. I followed that with another file from Wreathed in Love and used the red paper for a bright pop of color.

With the two files in place, I used the "love" and "Fall" sentiments as my title. I placed the photo to the right of that and backed it with a 3x4 Golden journaling card.

Next, I layered Fall Floral stickers with double-sided foam tape to create a bouquet of sorts next to the title. I followed that with wood and stickers on the photo and enamel dots for added color and dimension.

Thank you for stopping by today, and I hope you are inspired to create!

Fall with Oakley Avenue

Hi Girls! It's Flóra here today. This time I made a 12x12 scrapbook layout with fall theme. I documented a photo from last year as this year we haven't taken any true fall photos with colorful leaves etc. :)

I used the fun Pretty Little Studio Oakley Avenue collection designed by Ashley Horton. I bought the 6x6 paper pad what perfect for backing cut files.

The cut file I used for this layout is Leaf Love. This is actually a background cut file and it gives great base for your layout.

I used a craft cardstock as my base and added white paint splatters to give pattern to the paper. I cut out the Leaf Love background from white cardstock with Silhouette Cameo. Then I cut out leaves from the Pretty Little Studio Oakley Avenue paper pad and backed some of the leaves.

Once the background was finished, I machine stitched the middle of the leaves and embellished the layout with Pretty Little Studio Oakley Avenue Stickers, Wood Veneers and cute Flair Buttons.

I hope you like my layout. It was so fun to make it. Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Fall

Hello friends! Candace back with you today to share something a little different, a fall travelers notebook spread!  I just adore fall and I wanted to capture the feeling of fall in my travelers notebook.  The Oakley Ave collection is perfect for documenting all your fall memories.  Here is a look at the collection.  You can check it out in the Pretty Little Studio store here.

Ashley has thought of everything when creating this collection!  There is everything from acrylic pieces and stamps to stickers and wood veneers that coordinate with the paper and vellum!
For today's spread I wanted to use coordinating pieces layered over a fall photo of pumpkins.

I paired the wood veneers with the beautiful arrows on the opposite page.  To adhere the arrows down I added a bit of stitching.

Instead of traditional journaling I decided to quote a lovely poem about Autumn.  I printed the poem on vellum and stitched it down below my photo.

A sweet and simple spread in my traveler's notebook that will document fall this year.  Try layering embellishments on top of your photos to add interest and impact!
Thanks for stopping by!  Have a beautiful fall day!
