Love Fall | Kelly Janes

Hey there, friends! Kelly here today and I'm so excited to be returning to The Cut Shoppe Design Team for another term! Today I'm sharing a new fall layout using the Fall Foliage Cut File & the Leaf It to Me Cut File.

I started in Cricut Design Space by inserting the large leaf with the heart from the Fall Foliage Cut File. I duplicated the the leaf and used the contour feature to hide the heart on one leaf and to hide the leaf on the other so I only had the heart remaining. I then resized the heart to a little larger than 2". I rotated the leaf so it was at an angle and repositioned the heart so it was centered in the leaf. I then sliced the heart through the leaf. I then resized four of the intricate leaves from the Leaf It to Me Cut File so they would fit along the larger leaves from the Fall Foliage Cut File.

I used Design Space to draw 3 circles around the layout and added hand stitching to the circles to create a wreath. I positioned all of the leaves in the upper left & lower right corners of the layout. I added mixed media under the leaves for more interest and color. I placed my photo behind the heart and to draw more attention to the photo I added white machine stitching around the heart shaped photo. I then added multiple die cuts & gold alphas for my title.

I love the way this layout came together! Fall is my favorite season to scrapbook and I'm so inspired by all of The Cut Shoppe Cut Files and Fall colors!!

"Fall Love" by Jill

Hello TCS Fans!  I'm using the Fall Foliage cut file released on November 5th for my newest layout for The Cut Shoppe.  Check out the other files released earlier this month below:

I started by cutting the fall love leaf, then removing the interior cuts and cutting it again from solid paper.  Next I cut several sizes of the heart leaf, then backed the cut out heart with more solid papers.

When I use cut files, I tend to go lighter on the embellishments because I don't want to take away from the gorgeous shapes I cut on my Silhouette.

Leaves are one of my favorite icons, right after feathers.  I felt like the leaves added enough to this layout so I didn't want to clutter it up with a ton of other stuff.  I love it when a cut file works as my title, then I don't have to try and think up something clever, haha!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today, I hope you enjoyed checking out my newest TCS creation.

New Cut Files | It's Fall Y'all

What's a better way to kick off the week, than with new Cut File designs??!!  Thursday's are usually our new cut file reveal day, but our family was in Disney last week, so I decided to do the new reveal today!  :)  This week we've got a mix of fall and everyday cut file designs.  I had to go with one of the fall designs, and I'm sure there's no surprise there!!  The Fall Foliage cut file set has one of my new favorite designs, and I've been waiting to use it for today's layout!

I created the word fall in this set to mimic the veining in a leaf.  I love the variation it gives you for adding patterned paper behind the design.  You can back each individual section, each letter or the top and bottom half of each letter like I did on my layout!

I wanted to add more of an eye-catching look to the title, so I hand-stitched around each of the letters with a different colored embroidery floss.  I coordinated the thread colors to match the papers and embellishments from the Crate Paper Gather collection.

I layered my photo and some of the embellishments over the large letters, and kept everything else a bit more on the simple side.  I really wanted the title to be the focal point of the layout.

There are plenty of fall designs included in the Fall Foliage cut file set.  You can pick it up in The Cut Shoppe Etsy store, along with our other new designs!
