Stay Colorful | Donna Espiritu

Hello, crafters! Donna here with my take on one of The Cut Shoppe's files, "The Untamed Heart" cut file.

I love how super cute my layout turned out!

I cut the file twice. I cut the file first using the papers from the Stay Colorful collection by Dear Lizzy.
Then I matted the colorful triangles with a white cardstock. I lifted some of the edges of the triangles so it's not totally flat on the surface.
I mounted the photo on foam tape and placed a mixture of flat/layered stickers and chipboards as embellishments. Using a black Micron pen, I wrote the journaling around the heart.
Lastly, I splattered pink, coral and white misting sprays while the photo is covered, for some messy texture.

That's all for now and I hope you liked my layout!

Thanks for dropping by and happy crafting,

Shello! Layout | Elsie Robinson

Hey friends, it's Elsie back again with another 12x12 layout to share with you! This time I'm using another one of the newest items available in the store: The Beach Bum cut file set.

As soon as I saw the shell cut file, I knew I had to make a page with it. I love anything to do with the ocean so this cut file set is one I will get a lot of use out of!

I cut the shell from white cardstock and sized it to approximately 8x8 inches, as I wanted it to be the stand-out image on this layout. I backed each section of the shell with different patterned papers from the Dear Lizzy Stay Colorful collection.

I love backing cut files with patterned paper, as it helps all of the contrasting patterns and colours on the papers work together... It's a totally foolproof technique!

I created a land/sea scene around the shell, and made sure all of the scenic elements and my photo were touching the shell. This creates a more cohesive design as the large cut file helps join all of these separate elements together.

I hope you're inspired to grab The Beach Bum set for yourself and create lots of Summer pages!

DIY Easter Banner | Elsie Robinson

Hey TCS fans, it's Elsie here! I love decorating my house for the holiday's, and with Easter this upcoming weekend I thought I would get into the spirit and create a 'hoppy easter' banner to hang in my home.

For this banner I used the Open Letter Alpha cut file. Any alpha cut file would work well for this banner, but I love this alpha in particular because I could back each letter with some pretty patterned papers!

I used papers from the Dear Lizzy Stay Colorful collection, as I love all of the bright, spring colours and patterns.

And then I made the (slightly) crazy decision to hand-stitch around each letter...!

I love the texture stitching adds and this banner is something I will bring out year after year to decorate my house with, so I didn't mind spending the time hand-stitching. An alternative would be to use a sewing machine or not to include stitching at all! But I love how cute and whimsical the hand-stitching looks!

The banner looks great with just the patterned paper letters, but I couldn't resist adding embellishment clusters onto each letter. This was a fun way to use up lots of scraps and stickers that I had leftover from previous layouts, so it was a good stash-buster!

I hope you all have a Happy Easter, and are inspired to create your own Easter banner with some of the many alphas The Cut Shoppe store has to offer!
