Fall with Oakley Avenue

Hi Girls! It's Flóra here today. This time I made a 12x12 scrapbook layout with fall theme. I documented a photo from last year as this year we haven't taken any true fall photos with colorful leaves etc. :)

I used the fun Pretty Little Studio Oakley Avenue collection designed by Ashley Horton. I bought the 6x6 paper pad what perfect for backing cut files.

The cut file I used for this layout is Leaf Love. This is actually a background cut file and it gives great base for your layout.

I used a craft cardstock as my base and added white paint splatters to give pattern to the paper. I cut out the Leaf Love background from white cardstock with Silhouette Cameo. Then I cut out leaves from the Pretty Little Studio Oakley Avenue paper pad and backed some of the leaves.

Once the background was finished, I machine stitched the middle of the leaves and embellished the layout with Pretty Little Studio Oakley Avenue Stickers, Wood Veneers and cute Flair Buttons.

I hope you like my layout. It was so fun to make it. Thanks for stopping by!

Guest Designer Tina Walker

It's time to meet our July Guest Designer, and this month we have the very talented Tina Walker joining us!  I started following Tina's work years ago, when I discovered her on the Creating Keepsakes Message Board.  And I had the pleasure of designing with Tina, on the Love My Tapes Design Team.  Tina not only create amazing layouts, but you will also find gorgeous Mixed Media projects on her Blog and Galleries!  I'm so excited to share the three layouts Tina created for us, but first let's get to know a little more about her!

Hi!  I'm Tina Walker and I am so excited to be Guest Designing for The Cut Shoppe!  I dabbled in scrapbooking approximately 15-20 years ago and would create in bursts of artistic energy, but it wasn’t until 7 years ago when I really started to be ‘obsessed’ with Scrapbooking and all things creative.  I am a working mom, working outside the home.  My children are grown, so much of my inspiration comes from my two French bulldogs, Moose & Flikka.  They have quite the reputation in the scrapbook world.  You can see more of my Scrapbook, Home Décor, and Mixed media projects on my blog, A Dog’s Life.

WOW!  Tina did such an amazing job with the cut file sets!  And I really love the way she incorporated them into the backgrounds of her layouts!  Thanks so much Tina for sharing your beautiful work with us!  You can find more of Tina's work and Mixed Media on her Blog, A Dog's Life.  Make sure you check it out, and follow her on Social Media.

Go Team

What a great day it was around here for my boys when I told them I scored two Patriots tickets!  It was a late Sunday night game and pretty darn cold outside.  Throughout the evening, I received texts and pictures of what I was missing.  I wouldn't have it any other way.

I decided on these two cut files below, to emphasize the football theme on my layout.  When I saw the Leaf Love cut file, I saw FOOTBALLS not leaves!!  I placed a brown patterned paper behind some of the "footballs" to help them stand out.  A splash of blue and green papers behind my photo help bring out the field and the team colors.

I hope that I have inspired you today to think outside of the box.  Just because it says "Leaf" doesn't mean you can't make them into footballs, right?
