Summer Coffee Lover's Blog Hop

Hi there, and welcome to the Summer Coffee Lover's Blog Hop!  We are so excited to join in the Hop and bring you a bit of inspiration!  There are a ton of sponsors for the Hop, and you'll have the chance to win some amazing prizes, by linking up. I'll share more on that, after a look at what I created for the Summer theme, using coffee, tea &/or cocoa images.

There's noting better than a cold glass of Sweet Tea on a hot summer day!  I used the Fancy Pants Attwell collection to document my photo of a glass of Peach Mango iced tea.  It was so good!!  The mix of colors from this collection are perfect for summer themed projects and I used a mix of the patterned papers from the 6x6 paper pad to back the Right On Target cut file from The Cut Shoppe Etsy store.

I also used the Open Letter Alpha cut file to create a large title for the layout.  I welded the letters together for the title, Tea Time, backed the letters with patterned paper and adhered them to the layout on an angle.  I finished the layout by adding a mix of embellishments from the Attwell collection around the Right On Target cut file.

September Guest Designer | Monique Liedtke

We had a great time last week with our Simple Stories Product Swap, and today we are kicking off a new week with an amazing Guest Designer! Monique Liedtke is joining us today with three gorgeous layouts!  Monique has been an online friend for several years and her work with Cut Files is always so eye-catching.  And I love seeing the way she mixes and uses patterned paper on her layouts.  Let's get to know a little more about Monique, before taking a look at her work!

Hi everyone! It's Monique today and I'm thrilled to be this month's guest designer! 

Here's a bit about me: I live in The Netherlands with my husband and 3 kids (a girl: 18 and 2 sons: 16 and 10 years old). I work part-time in a small HR office in town and when I'm not working you'll most probably find me scrapping. I've been scrapping for about 12 years now and it's still what I love to do most. I'm so very fortunate to be (have been) on the teams of some of my favorite manufacturers like Imaginisce, Pretty Little Studio and Doodlebug Design and on the teams of two magazines. I find it hard to describe my scrapbooking style, but you’ll find that I mostly use lots of bright colors, many embellishments and (Silhouette) cut files and I almost always use my sewing machine. I used the Right on Target cut file at the center of a large hand-stitched title.  And I completely backed the cut file with patterned papers from the Pink Paislee Bella Rouge collection.

Fancy Pants Designs/The Cut Shoppe Team Up: Ashley Horton

I created two layouts, using the Flutter and Office Suite collections from Fancy Pants, mixed with several cut files from The Cut Shoppe.

Love You Just the Way You Are:

How awesome are the colors in the Flutter collection??!!  Love them!  I decided to use the Right on Target cut file and cut it in half once I backed it with different patterned papers.  I adhered the two half circles to the top and bottom of the layout, and used the circle design to add the alphas for my title.  And I wanted to incorporate one of our new cut files for this week, so I cut the Love banner from the A Banner Day cut file set, and used it for part of my title.

If you haven't noticed yet, I kind of have a thing for the All Heart cut file!  :)  I think this is probably the 5th layout I've used it on so far.  I wanted to cut it from the Black & White diagonal striped patterned paper in the Fancy Pants Office Suite collection and back it with the Light Blue patterned paper.  Then I layered my photo, title and embellishments over the background.  I also used one of the cut files from thew new Wild Cards cut file set, to layer next to my photo.

We've also got three new cut file sets in The Cut Shoppe today!  These sets are perfect for coordinating with the Office Suite and Flutter collections.

Guest Designer Els Brige

It's time to introduce a new Guest Designer, and we are so excited to have Els Brige joining us today!  I am fortunate enough to work with Els on the A Flair for Buttons Design Team.  She worked with some of the cut files from The Cut Shoppe during our team up with A Flair for Buttons last year, and I was blown away by what she created!  And she has some gorgeous layouts to share with us today!  First, let's get to know a little more about Els!

I live with my husband and two kids in a small town in Belgium. By daytime I work as a psychologist, by night you can find me in my craftroom. Back in 2008, shortly after my daughter was born, I got into cardmaking, and soon after also took the plunge to scrapbooking. I found a way of documenting the many fun memories of our family life. Since then, I’m totally addicted to stamps, paper, scrapbooking and cardmaking. I had great fun playing with Ashley’s amazing cut files, I think I could get addicted to my Silhouette this way;) Thanks, Ashley, for having me!

Love This | The ‘Love This’ title from the The Love Club cut file was just perfect to match up with this picture of my daughter. I paired it up with some of the Let Them Eat Pie shapes. The background of this layout is colored with watercolors, so that the white die-cuts can stand out against the background. I finished this one up with a few XO cuts from the XO Background cut file, probably my favorite background design.  ;)

  

You Are Here | I just couldn’t resist the Right On Target cut file. I love this type of file, that truly grabs your attention. I positioned the pictures of my boy a bit to the side, so that the star in the center of the target wouldn’t get completely covered. Yet I placed them close enough, so that they would benefit from the attention grabbing die-cut. For this layout, I also used a few flair that Ashley designed for a joined blog hop with A Flair For Buttons. I love how they match the playful feel to  this layout.

Guest Designer Kristine Davidson

I am super excited to introduce our Cut Shoppe Guest Designer for the month of December!  Let's welcome Kristine Davidson!  I have been a huge fan of Kristine's since I first discovered Creative Scrappers, several years ago.  She creates amazing sketches and even more amazing layouts!  I always love her fun use of color and her awesome layout designs.  Before we take a look at what Kristine created, let's get to know a little bit more about her.

Hi everyone!  I live in New Brunswick, Canada, and I work full time as a Customer Sales and Service agent for an airline company.  I love to spend my spare time creating. And, I also love anything chocolaty, city skylines, and sunsets.

I have been an avid scrapbooker for over 7 years and addicted to pop dots, diecuts and of course pattern paper. I am the founder of a scrapbook sketch site called Creative Scrappers, and currently a design team member for Jillibean Soup and Simple Stories. I am thrilled to be the guest designer this month, and I'm looking forward to providing you with some inspiration to create with cut files from The Cut Shoppe!

 

 

 

Kristine used the Right on Target cut file and the These Are the Days cut file to create her fun, and colorful layout!  I really love the way Kristine layered the patterned paper behind the Right on Target cut file and used it multiple times in her design!  And the These Are the Days cut file works perfectly as part of her title!
