Teacher Gift with Kira

Well, it's that time of the year again.  Kids are heading back to school!  Or in the case of some, heading to school for the first time.  I have my very first kindergartner!  I can barely believe it!  Since I wanted to start this school year off right, I decided to create a little teacher appreciation gift for our first week of school.  I included some snacks, a bath bomb, a stamp set and this:

This is a super easy project to make, and requires very limited supplies.  I started with a Jillibean Soup rustic white frame.  I removed the white board from it and painted it black to give it the look of a chalkboard.

Then I used my Cricut and some cut files from The Cut Shoppe to plan out my design.  I used the Write On Alpha for "Mrs. Pena".  I sized it to 7.5" wide so it would take up the majority of the frame's width.

I used the pencil from the School Rules cut file below the teacher's name and sized it to about 7" wide.  I cut the cut files out from white vinyl and placed it on the black board.

Then I replaced the frame and ta-da!  The perfect teacher's gift!

Thanks for stopping by!

Back To School

Hello! It's Jennifer and I'm so excited to have my first post as a member of The Cut Shoppe design team!  Since it is back to school time for most kids, I wanted to do a layout using a photo from my son's open house.  I used the 8.5 x 11 Get To The Point as my background as well as one of the cute titles from School Rules

I cut directly into my white cardstock using Get To The Point. I then used different patterns from the collection and adhered to the back of my page.  I love how this gives my layout a lot of color without being too overwhelming!

Here is a close up of a group of arrows!

I love the stars in the center of each of the O's!

Thank you for stopping by today!  Please check out The Cut Shoppe for these and many more fun cut files! Have a great day!

Supplies used:  patterned paper, chipboard frames, die cuts, brads, enamel dots: Simple Stories So Rad; journaling pen and date stamp: American Crafts; stapler: Teresa Collins for Xyron; Die Cut Machine: Cameo Silhouette

Back to School!

Hello again! This is Sheri and I have a fun back to school layout to share with you. It's hard to believe that summer is ending in most places and the kiddos are heading back to school. Since I don't have school aged children anymore, I had to bug my sister to get back to school photos of my nieces who just returned this past week. I couldn't wait to use the new cut files just released this past week!

So here is my layout! I used the star circle from the Scribble Scrabbles set for my photo frames. The other elements are from the School Rules set. Isn't that pencil just adorable? I had to use that and of course, had to paint it like a pencil! I'm a sucker for school supplies!

On the Back to School and 2015-2016 cutout, I created an offset cut to use behind the cut outs so they stand out a little better. With that striped paper, it helped ground those cuts a little better.

Here's a close up of the Scribble Scrabble circles. Aren't they cute? They look almost handdrawn and I love that effect.

Oh that pencil! I just love it.

I do have a process video for this layout if you'd like to watch. Here it is:

Thanks so much for stopping by! Can't wait to see what you do with your back to school photos!
