And Then . . . Me & You!

Stephanie here along with my son Caden, his friend Irish, a couple of frogs, and a LOT of ampersands!

I am a huge fan of movement on pages, but something that isn't overbearing and taking away from the photo. Most of my pages are relatively simple so I just wanted to feature the ampersands to emphasize the relationship my son and his friend had. I used my Cameo and cut a few ampersands that I could loop through a piece of twine and allow to move freely.

These two had a special bond and it's the only photo I have of them together. So, I'm happy to have it in an album!

The file was originally created as a background. I just wanted to keep it simple, so I just cut a row of the ampersands and pulled out what I needed. That is one of the most beautiful things about Ashley's designs, the versatilty! If you can do the basic steps to cutting with your Cameo, you can use these files in so many ways!

Happy Friday, friends!  Missy here with you today :)  I'm loving all of the fun Valentine related cut files being added to the shop lately!  I'm a sucker for anything to do with love or hearts.  I used two of the new cut files in my layout for today.  I used Love Letters and Addicted to Love.

I decided to enlarge a few of the hearts from the background cut file and overlap them onto my photos.  I cut them in white cardstock and then used various shades of pink, red and purple gelatos to shade them in.  I used some Shimmerz Coloringz and Dazzlerz to create the pretty aqua color on the background. I used some embellishments from the American Crafts Serendipity line, a few random washi tapes and finished it off with some machine stitching.

I cut a few of the background hearts in a smaller size and kept them white.  I'm really love the white-on-white trend these days.

I just used these big cuts as big paper clips, so to speak.  I love the dimension of overlapping them onto the photos.

I added in a few flair buttons from my stash here...I love when pieces from my stash match perfectly!

One more close up of the top of the layout...another white heart.  I also used the negative heart pieces and stitched four of them down around the page.

I hope this gives you a few more ideas on how you can use the background cut files...they're very versatile and can be blown up and used as main design elements.  Really fun and easy!

Today Is a Good Day to Be Awesome

Hi again!!  I'm back to share a layout with you, using one of the new cut files sets that are available in The Cut Shoppe today!  I used the Addicted to Love 12x12 background cut file for this layout, and I thought it would be fun to add color to the cut file, using water color paint.  And if you would like to see how I put the layout together, you can check out the new Process Video, too!

I coordinated the water color paints on the cut file, with the Life Documented collection from Simple Stories.  I mixed the paints to get the colors as close to the color in the papers, as I could.  Here's a look at how I put the layout together!

Here We Go: Adventure (and a process video!)

Hi! It's Heather here again with a layout to share with you that I made with some of the awesome cut files from The Cut Shoppe! 

Oh- and I have something fun, too! I made a process video of me making this layout! Click HERE to see it! 

I explain all of the following during the video, but just in case you don't get to see it, I'll write out my process as well. 

First I took the "adventure" tag and blew it up really big to fit on a full 8.5x11 page (of course deleting the tag shape). Then I backed the diecut negative with come black card stock. To make the letters stand out, I used a white pen to messily trace inside the alphas. I was originally going to hand-stitch the letters, but I didn't have the patience for it. It takes soooo long to do! ;)

Next I used a brayer and painted a turquoise background on my layout. Since the white paper is textured, the paint doesn't cover in a solid color. I used a white pen to outline the inside of the title alphas. Doesn't the white look so good on the black paper?!

I used these cutfiles to add a couple more diecut embellishments to this page.

It's so exciting to introduce our Guest Designer today!  I have been a long time fan of Waleska Neris' work, after discovering her on the Elle's Studio Design Team.  Waleska creates clean and simple layouts, that pack eye-appealing punch!  Her designs are always so unique, and her use of color on clean, White backgrounds is completely stunning.  Waleska created two layouts to share with us today, but let's get to know a little bit more about her first.

I’m a full time mom to 2 super cool boys, full time (not your typical) accountant and part-time wife to my hubby of 15 years (kidding!!). I kid a lot :). I’ve been scrapbooking for over 12 years and still loving it. Paper and die cuts are my thing so when I was invited to play along with The Cut Shoppe designs I didn’t even think about it. Thank you SO much for having me, Ashley!!

#sanfranciscoselfie:  I used two designs from Let Them Eat Pie. I cut the solid design from seven different papers [American Crafts Shimelle], then pieced them together. I then cut the outlined burst and backed each opening with the leftover papers.

SF: I think the Totally Triangles background was perfect for this picture of my boys in front of the Golden Gate bridge. I kept it very simple by adding patterned papers [American Crafts Amy Tangerine] to some of the triangles and just a few small embellishments.

I decided to enlarge the String heart from the Sweet Hearts cut file set (the bottom right one) so that I could back it with some different patterned papers.
