Never Act Your Age

Hey there! It's Devra here today. sharing this project featuring the On A Roll cut file.  I've wanted to use this cut file for a while now, but just coudn't pin down an idea for it. Until now.

I wanted something fun and whimsical for some Disneyland photos. This cut file is perfect. I did a few things to it though. First I cut out the pieces. Then I went back in to design mode and moved the pieces away from each other in order to create more space. Then I used the offset tool to cut the stitch lines. As a bonus, with all the patterned papers I used, the extra space works in my favor. Next, I want to make a pizza with this cut file!

Sometimes you need to go do something fun, where you can be silly, laugh and just do what you want. This is my sister and I doing just celebrating her birthday at Disneyland.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. See you next time.

Home Sweet Home

Hey there! It's Devra here today. I used the Mid Century Modern cut file. Don't you think it's perfect for a photo about a home? I do! I came across this old photo of me in my first apartment. All I could think about was this cut file.

I really like layers on my pages. paper, embellishments, all of it. I wanted to layer the cut file, but didn't want to back it with other papers. I found if I used the 'offset' feature on the Silhouette, I could create an edge to place around the cut file. This gives it the appearance of layers!

Pairing cut files with the right papers makes all the difference for me. In this case, Pink Paislee Auburn Lane had the right vibe. It's part fall, part family, part cozy at home. This page is everything I wanted it to be.

Take 3

Hey there! Happy June! It's Devra here with you today sharing this project I made using The Big Screen cut file.

I love a good grid and thought it would be fun to create one using the film strip. I cut it 3 times, removing the word "action" afterwards, then I flipped them vertically. I thought about filling one of the squares with my photo, but what fun would that be.  Instead I backed the squares with pattern paper, and placed my photo overlapping two of the filmstrips. The rest was easy! A few embellishments fill some of the squares and I was finished.

I think it's fun to use products in fun and different ways than they may have been intended. I challenge you to do the same! Share what you make with us in our Facebook group

Summer IS Coming

Hey there! It's Devra here with you today with a project featuring the Summer is Coming cut file.

I cannot begin to tell you how much I love summer. Let me tell you, signs of summer are everywhere! One of my favorite things to do when its warm is to sit in the backyard in the morning, drinking coffee while listening to the birds sing. So this cut file is perfect!

I used AmyTangerine Stay Sweet papers to cut and back the file. I love using patterned paper to cut and back files! I added an extra strip of paper behind the line to add more color. My photo fit nicely tucked over and under some of the letters. I really love when a cut file is a little bit of everything: title, focal point and embellishment. It makes a layout come together so easily.

That's all I have for you today. Head over the The Cut Shoppe to gt this and so many other amazing cut files. Share what you make in our Facebook group! We always want to see your creativity. See you next time!

Stay Mine

Hey there. It's  Devra here today. I used the new Shining Star cut file. I had so many different ideas in mind for it. I decided to keep it simple, combining it with Amy Tangerine Stay Sweet creating this soft but bright layout. Look how fun this is!

I knew I wanted to place my photo inside the star. In order for it to fit, I altered the cut file by removing the inner star before cutting. After cutting, I filled the spaces with several different patterned papers. I love all the different sized spaces! I embellished in a few areas, finishing it off with some tonal stitching, just to keep it interesting!

This really is a very easy cut file to use. I may use it again with one of the other ideas I had!

Think Happy

Hey there! It's Devra here with you today. My layout features the new Butterfly Wings cut file. To be perfectly honest, I wasn't planning on using it. I love this cut file. It's beautiful. My first thought was, 'but it's not me'.

Well, I sure proved myself wrong on this one. As soon as I got my hands on the Crate Paper All Heart, all I could think of was this cut file.  To me, the butterfly is inspirational. The papers are so feminine. They work harmoniously. Pink, flowers, butterfly. Boom.

I used only patterned papers today. I cut the butterfly out of a small pink pattern, then backed it with 3 other papers. Varying the size of the patterns kept it from being too visually overwhelming.  I fussy cut a few flowers layering them over the printed ones, then added few stickers and sentiments, That's all.  Since the butterfly itself it the focus of the page, it didn't need much embellishing! It's too pretty to cover up anyway!

Strut Your Stuff

Hello there! I'ts Devra  today! This Pretty as a Peacock might be one of my favorite cut files ever. But when I saw it, all I could think of was stitching it.  So I did!

I didn't have a photo in mind when I started, but I like bright colors, so I started there with bright blues, greens and pinks. By the time I finished sewing, I had the photo, and the rest of the product. Vicki Boutin Color Kaleidoscope arrived  just in time! I used the Chasing Rainbow paper behind the body of the peacock. I tried something new, using the WaterColor Markers  and also the Amy Tangerine watercolor set to fill in the feathers. The colors are beyond perfect. I definitely need some practice with the markers, but for a first try I'm really pleased with the results.

You can see more of the stitching in these detail  photos.  I like how the stitching acts as a border for the paint. Like I said, I like bright colors. This is pretty much how I envisioned it in my head.

Stay Cool Bro

Hey there! It's Devra  today. It features the new Stay Cool Bro cut file.

Come on. I kinda feel like this was made just for me. There are so many ways I want to use it. Because there's always more than one way to use a cut file right?  Today though, is simple. Two boys, brothers, bright colors, inspiring sentiments. Boom.

There are many layers to this cut file. I used the innermost lines, backing it with the entire outline of the file. Using this Simple Stories L'il Dude brightly colored stripe highlights the cut file and gives my page so much fun energy. It really was very easy to put together! It's such a statement it only needs a few embellishments. Small clusters of mixed ephemera, chipboard, stickers and A Flair for Buttons flair finish this off perfectly.

I'm so happy you  stopped by today. We love to see how you create with our cut files. Share with us in our Facebook Group, The Cut Shoppe Scrap Spot. See you next time!

No Place Like Home

Hey there! It's Devra here with you today.  I have a simple but funny page to share today using the There's No Place Like Home cut file.

I love this line from The Wizard of Oz. But hmmmm, how could I use it? Well, that was certainly solved when my son came home from school for the weekend! He woke up in the morning, came downstairs, and went right back to sleep on the couch. What I realized was that he was relaxed and comfortable. So there really is no place like home.

This page is really very simple because the cut file is everything! It's the title, embellishment and focal point all in one. I cut each word in different papers from the Carta Bella Our House collection. I glued them down a bit wonky to make it feel more playful. A few stickers, die cuts and flair from A Flair for Buttons were all that were needed to finish it off.

I backed only the word HOME to give it some emphasis.

That's all I have for you today. Head over to The Cut Shoppe where you can get this and so many fantastic cut files. See you again soon!

Love Like Us

Hey there and good morning! It's Devra here today sharing this layout featuring the new In My Notebook cut file. All I can tell you is this one piqued my curiosity and I had to play with it right away. I'm so glad I did!

Well, my first thought was, "what do I love, what do I like?". Nope, that wasn't working for me. I scratched that right away and went with a more 'heartfelt' theme using a family photo instead.  I mixed a bunch of Valentine collections from Pebbles and Crate Paper to cut the file as well as back the words LOVE and LIKE. I even used the open space to the left of the photo to add some journaling strips. I feel like that space was made for journaling!

I cut the word US using the Open Letter Alpha and did the same thing, backing it with paper. I think it works pretty well!

This is a fantastic cut file! I encourage you to try it! Check out all of our other cut files in The Cut Shoppe , as well as some great new Valentine cut files. You'll be glad you did. Share what you make with us in our Facebook group. We love to see your creativity!  See you next time!
