Destination Monteverde

Hello, Laura with you today. I'm continuing with layouts from my recent trip to Costa Rica. We began our adventure at Monteverde which boasts some pretty amazing cloud forests and canopy trails, as well as zip lining. To start off our time there, we took a short hike to a pretty waterfall, dinner, enjoyed a stunning sunset.

The Sideways Chevron file was the perfect cut to give the sense of moving to our location and going out to explore. I cut it out on a tan cardstock paper and layered over a fun green, then placed over some cute map paper. Before adding to the map paper, I stitched through all of the chevrons to add texture. I cut out a tag from Pack Your Bags and "Destination" from Here and There to add some red, like the bloom in my photo. All that was needed then were some enamel dots, wood, and chipboard bits, along with my journal strips.

I would love to see what you create with files from the shop, head on over today and pick up something fun for your next project!

Totally Seriously Summer Fun!

Hi Everyone,
It's Gina here, and I would like to share with you a recent layout that I made using the new Sideways Chevron 12x12 cut file.

I cut my 12x12 Sideways Chevron Background out of white cardstock paper.  Not all of the cuts, cut all the way through.  This is because I need a new blade, but I loved the look.  I decided to leave a lot of the pieces that did not cut all the way through on this page, to give it a sense of white balance.  I popped out a few pieces and then layered a piece of Finder's Keepers Patterned Paper behind it.  I then printed my small photo and added embellishments, stitching, stamping and the title.

This layout came together quickly, and I love the look.  Here is the background cut file that I used:

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed my layout.  If you make a layout using cut files from the shop, we would love for you to share it with us on our Facebook Page!

"Let's Do This"

Happy Saturday! I'm excited to share a layout with you today using two of our newly released cut files! I say this everytime, but I really love these files! I saw those Graffiti cut files and knew I wanted to use those right away!

For this layout I used the Sideways Chevron cut file but I turned it and used it going up and down instead of sideways. I also used the new Graffiti Greetings cut file and used it for my title.

Here's a few close ups. I love the brushstroke look that borders the cut file. I used a fine black marker to outline the letters on the background paper so it would pop a bit more. I like that effect sometimes.

Here's you can get a closer look on the Sideways Chevron cut file, I love how the patterned paper peeks through. I don't adhere it completely down so that parts of it can have some dimension.

New files are being added to the shop every week so make sure you check out The Cut Shoppe store and see what is new! There are soooo many great files to choose from.

I've got a process video if you'd like to see how it all came together!

Have a great weekend!

15 Years

Hi all!  It's Cara here today with my new layout.  My hubby and I just celebrated our 15th anniversary so of course I had to make a page about it :D

The Sideways Chevron background cutfile is so versatile.  Here I cut it out on white cardstock with a pretty calm pattern behind it, and added some white stitching to add texture but kept it monochromatic to not make it too busy.  You could pump up the energy by using the same cutfile and mixing a more energetic background and colours.  There is such a big range of themes and feelings that you could get with this cutfile!

The Sideways Chevron background cut file is availalbe in 8.5x11 and 12x12 sizes, for your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

I couldn't stop there because these cutfiles are soooo much fun!  So, I added the love heart from the Candy Hearts cutfile.  Perfect for this page!

The Candy Hearts cut file consists of 4 heart shapes with phrases, that can be used on your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

So, what would you do with the Sideways Chevron background?

Have a fantastic day!
