My Sweet Little Dreamer

Hello, it's Cara here with my last post as a Design Team member.  It's a fantastic team, thank you  so much Ashley for having me.

For my last page I decided to use the Happy Little Clouds cutfile.  I fell in love with those sweet little clouds and it is still one of my favourites :D

The Happy Little Clouds cut file consists of 3 cloud icons, that can be used on your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

Before I added the mint coloured clouds, I used the top left cloud of the cutfile to make stitching holes in my background paper to make the string art cloud with floss.

Thanks so much for the great run Ashley! It's been a pleasure.  If you'd like to keep up with me, my website is thehootingpirate.com and I'm @caravincens on instagram and periscope! Or you can come catch me teaching at True Scrap Planner LOVE September 19. I'd love to see you there! :D

15 Years

Hi all!  It's Cara here today with my new layout.  My hubby and I just celebrated our 15th anniversary so of course I had to make a page about it :D

The Sideways Chevron background cutfile is so versatile.  Here I cut it out on white cardstock with a pretty calm pattern behind it, and added some white stitching to add texture but kept it monochromatic to not make it too busy.  You could pump up the energy by using the same cutfile and mixing a more energetic background and colours.  There is such a big range of themes and feelings that you could get with this cutfile!

The Sideways Chevron background cut file is availalbe in 8.5x11 and 12x12 sizes, for your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

I couldn't stop there because these cutfiles are soooo much fun!  So, I added the love heart from the Candy Hearts cutfile.  Perfect for this page!

The Candy Hearts cut file consists of 4 heart shapes with phrases, that can be used on your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

So, what would you do with the Sideways Chevron background?

Have a fantastic day!

Our Happy Fun Exciting & Crazy Busy July

It's Cara here today! How is your summer going so far? Phew, July has been a crazy month for us and it's only half over!

I wanted to create a layout that reflected this feeling of a crazy-busy month so I went with the Any Which Way background cutfile.  Arrows are a perfect way to show busy-ness and backing it onto this colourful patterned paper really reinforces that feeling!

The Any Which Way background cut file is available in 8.5x11 and 12x12 sizes, for your scrapbooking and papercraftng projects.

I also used the arrows from the Doodle Dandy cutfile to add more movement.  I cut them pretty small and scattered them around the page.  I love how they look with the white background arrows.
The Doodle Dandy cut file set consists of 7 hand-doodled icons, that can be used for your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

Ok, I'm going back to our busy July!

Hope that you are enjoying a fantastic summer! Happy scrapping :D

Smart Boy

Hi, it's Cara with a new layout today using the Little Letters cutfile.  As soon as I saw it, it was cutfile love!! I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it.  My 2 year old loves learning his letters and it's perfect to highlight all the things he can do now.

I cut it out on white cardstock and used a white and grey patterned background.  I backed only the letters in his name, Cedric, in his favourite colour.

I love how it turned out.  :D

The Little Letters cut file is an alphabet background, that can be used on your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

Have a fantastic day!

Nannie & Grampie

Cara here today with a layout about 2 of my children with my grandparents, who celebrated 63 years of marriage yesterday!!

Lately, I have become completely obsessed with using my silhouette to make stitching holes and then getting out the needle and floss!  Today, I tried string art and I LOVE how it turned out.  I used the heart from the Chit Chat cutfile and added holes just around the outer shape.

The Chit Chat cuf file includes 4 phrases and 2 icons, that can be used for your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

I used the new background cutfile called Love All Around, but instead of using the actual cut, I used the negative and backed it on a piece of yellow patterned paper. It took some time to get all the pieces glued on in just the right spots, but it was worth it!

The Love All Around is a heart shaped background, that can be used on your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

Hearts are one of my favourite shapes to use on a layout or project.  What are some of your favourites?

Have a fantastic day!

Love it Here

Hi, it's Cara here today with a layout about my village.  It's so peaceful, we moved here 2 years ago and this layout really represents that peacefulness that I've experiences since then.

I used the Unconditional Love cutfile for the title.  There is no 'Love it Here' in the cutfile, but I took 'love' and 'here' from the bottom two phrases and the 'it' is actually the middle of 'with'!  So don't feel limited by the phrases that are given. Don't hesitate to mix and match to find the phrase that suits your page :D

The Unconditional Love cut file consists of 4 love themed phrases and icons, that can be used on your scrapbooking & papercrafting projects.

I used the Sci-fi circles as a background to add a little colour and pattern.  The soft colours make this energetic pattern more calming.

The Sci-Fi Circles background cut file is available in 8.5x11 and 12x12 sizes, for your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

Have you ever done a page about where you live and why you love it?
Have a fantastic day!

Na-sing!

Hi there, it's Cara here today, with my not so sneaky son. ;) I used a few cutfiles for this layout to make it fun, and to highlight my son's sneakiness and his habit of hiding things :D

The background cutfile is Spinning Spirals.  I love the whimsical feel it adds to the page.

The Spinning Spirals background cut file is available in 8.5x11 and 12x12 sizes, for your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

The compass comes from the Happy Camper cutfile.  Sometimes I feel like we need one to find all the things this boy has hidden or lost, so it was perfect!

The Happy Camper cut file includes 7 travel/camping themed icons, that can be used for your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

I wanted to do a bit of stitching but not spend hours on it, so I took the longer arrow from the Doodle Dandy cutfile and instead of cutting it out, I cut holes at specific points around the edge. Stitching it was fun and easy :D

The Doodle Dandy cut file set consists of 7 hand-doodled icons, that can be used for your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

I have a couple of blog post that talks about adding stitching holes, if you'd like to try it.  You can find  them here and here.  Have a fantastic day!

Insta Breakfast

Hello, it's Cara here today! And I'm so excited to share these super cool cutfiles, Stay Focused.  I think I actually said 'Yes!' and did a mini fist pump when I first saw this set, because I am a huge Instagram addict.  Are you? :D

I used the 'instalove' cutie pie camera and the shutter 'smile', but I do plan on using the other ones in the very near future :D

The Stay Focused cut file set consists of 5 photo themed icons, that can be used on your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

I documented my love and utter obsession for Instagram and my daily ritual of catching up after the mad rush of getting my 6 children up and ready and out the door.  Okay, it really isn't that crazy, but I still like to slow down afterwards ;)

I even designed the left side of the page to kind of resemble an Instagram profile!

Are you on Instagram?  We are! Make sure you are following @thecutshoppe You can see all of our layouts and join in on all the fun!

Have a fantastic day!
