I Love You So

Hello friends, today I'm sharing my last layout with you as a Design Team member of The Cut Shoppe. I've been honored to be a part of this team since the very beginning. I've had the best time working with Ashley and creating with her lovely cut files! They are so fun and inspring, and I have so many I haven't even used yet! Today's layout uses the Spiral Scallop cut file. For this page, I used the cut file exactly as it came and didn't alter it in any way.

I adhered my circles over a piece of mutli-colored patterned paper, and cut them out. I stitched them onto white cardstock, and added my photo, title, and embellishments! I like that the paper gave me the look of using different papers for each scallop, but I only had to use one!

Thank you for joining me today, and for the last three years! It's been a great ride!

Happy Heart

Hello there! Today I'm sharing a page using the fun frames from the Picture Perfect cut file!

I started the layout by choosing the frame as I wanted the focal point. Next, I cut out that frame and two identical ones to go at either side. I backed the two frames with patterned paper, and placed my photo behind the larger one. I used some mist with the packaging technique to create the mixed media background, and then placed my frames.  I added embellishments and a title to complete the look! I love how the frames look together. I'm going to use the frames in a grid arrangement for another layout!

Thanks for joining me today. I hope you feel inspired to use the Picture Perfect cut file!

You're the One That I Love

Hello there! Today I have a layout to share using the Sweet Sentiments cut file as a fun title. I love how it comes with four phrases, plus you can get extra mileage by using the heart speech bubble on it's own!

To create this layout I cut the color blocking from a patterned paper, and hand stitched each triangle down with coordinating thread. Next, I added a small photo and some flowers I hand cut from a 6"x6" patterned paper. Finally, I added my title! I used the "offset" tool in Silhouette Studio to create the white mat for the title. It helps it really stand out on the page, and makes the phrase easier to read.

Thank you for joining me today, be sure to stop by the shop to check out the Sweet Sentiments cut file!

You Are My Sunshine

Hello there! Today I'm sharing a layout using the new Cloud Nine cut file, which makes an awesome background!

This layout was super easy to create! I cut the Cloud Nine from white cardstock, and backed it with papers from the Take Me Away 6"x6" pad. Keeping with the cloud theme, I added a title that had the word "sunshine" in it! I figured that the sun and clouds go together! I added a few more embellishments and some pink splatters, then the layout was complete!

Thanks for joining me today, I can't wait to see how you use this cut file!

Embrace Life

Hello friends! I'm excited to be sharing a layout today using the Get Around cut file. This layout was surprisingly simple to make!

First, I cut the love circle and the heart circle in various sizes from white cardstock. They were really easy to back with patterned paper because I did the whole circle, instead of each individual segment. The hardest part was just choosing the papers!

Next, I arranged the circles in a way that I liked and glued them down. I didn't think too hard about placement. I added my photo, some other circle-shaped embellishments, and that was it! It was one of the easiest layouts I've ever made, but it looks complicated thanks to the gorgeous cut file! Backing several large shapes with patterned paper can have just as much of an impact as backing smaller individual sections, but is less time consuming. I hope you feel inspired to try it!

Loved

Hello friends! I'm sharing a layout today using the Social Butterfly cut file! This cut file is super gorgeous, and probably one of my favorites ever.

I wanted the butterflies as a background, but not covering the entire page. I enlarged and cut out just part of the file, and then backed the butterflies with a 6"x6" paper pad. Once I had my butterflies backed, I did some mixed media on the page using gelatos and the packging technique. I glued the butterflies down, and then added my photos and embellishments in the white space. I tried to cover as little of the butterflies as possible!

I love the butterflies and how this layout turned out. Thank you for joining me today!

Love

Hello there! Today I'm sharing a fun and springy layout using the Flower Delivery cut file. This is one of my favorites ever because I love flowers, and it's so versatile!

This layout was super easy and fun to make! I cut a bunch of flowers out from white cardstock, and backed them using a 6"x6" paper pad. Next, I cut out plain flowers from a piece of rainbow striped patterened paper. I arranged the flowers messily across the center of the page, and added some more flower die cuts. I also uses a modeling paste and stencil to get the splatter effect. Once I had everything arranged, I glued it down and then added my photo. My title came next, and then the beautiful butterfly! I finished off with a few coordinating puffy stickers, and corners at the edges of the layout. I love it!

I love how girly and springy it looks. This is my second layout using the Floral Delivery cut file, and I know there will be many more in my future!

Hello Snow

Hello there! It snowed here recently, and I was so excited to get a few snow pictures to scrap. It doesn't snow often where I live, and I was dying to use the Wintry Mix cut file! It was perfect timing.

I was inspired by the gorgeous colors of the Snow & Cocoa collection! I pulled out some of my favorite colors from the patterned paper and used the packaging technique to create a mixed media background. Next, I cut out snowflakes from a 6"x6" paper pad using the snowflake in the "Hello Snow" image. I wanted the title to POP, so I used the offset tool and cut it from two contrasting patterns. I added gems on the little circles of the main snowflake for extra sparkle. I haven't used gems in quite some time, so it was great to use my stash! I added the title in the middle of the page, and a photo on each side of it. Next, I added the cut snowflakes throughout the page, as well as some snowflake embellishments. I finished with a wood veneer word I painted with acrylic paint for a color blocked look!

I hope you enjoyed my layout! Thank you for joining me today, be sure to check out the Wintry Mix cut file in the shop!

Let Your Heart be Light

Hello there! I'm excited to be sharing a layout with you today using The Tree Farm cut file! Not only does it have the cutest names, it has the most adorable trees:

To create this layout, I began with the trees. I two of each design in different sizes from white cardstock. Next, I backed each one with different patterned papers. I chose my photo and placed it in the middle of the page with trees clustered around it. I pulled out my Christmas embellishments and added any trees I had, as well as some other ones I found that fit the color scheme. I added my title, but the layout looked unbalanced until I added some phrase stickers. These weren't from a Christmas collection, but matched the color scheme perfectly. Plus they were perfect sayings for a picture of my husband and I!

That wraps it up for today! I had so much fun creating this layout; I loved using a non-traditional color scheme for Christmas. Thanks for joining me!

Under the Mistletoe

Hello friends! Today I'm sharing a layout using a new FREE cut file! Ashley is offering a free cut file every week for the month of December. The cut file I used was released yesterday, and is called "Under the Mistletoe".

I cut the title out from red patterned paper, and the mistletoe from green. I placed the title to the left of the mistletoe, and used pop dots on the mistletoe leaves. Next, I used the packaging technique to make a background for my photo in blues and greens.  I added layers for my photo, a few embellishments, and my layout was complete. I love this collection from Lawn Fawn! The blue with the traditional Christmas colors make me so happy. That wraps it up for today, thank you for stopping by!

Life is Good

Hello and Happy Black Friday! I have a happy layout to share with you today using the Flock of Feathers cut file!

I originally cut it out as a 12"x12" background, but it didn't go with what I had pictured, so I cut the feathers apart and backed about half of them. I played around with the arrangement of the feathers until I liked what I saw. I ended up with a burst of feathers coming from the center of the page!! Before I glued each one down, I stitched through the middle of some of them with gold thread.

Next, I added various embellishments surrounding my photo. I was excited to use the wood veneer feathers from my stash!

I had a blast making this layout. It's one of my favorites ever! I still have lots of feathers to use, and I can't wait to come up with something else for them. Thanks for stopping by!

I Love Fall

Hello there! Today I have a fun, fall layout to share using the Fall Finds cut file and the Oakley Avenue collection.

To create this page, I used the "I Love Fall" phrase, and cut it out from white cardstock. Once I had the die cut, I seperated it into three phrases instead of one long one. I backed each one and stacked them in a row. Next, I cut out a larger "I Love Fall", and placed it underneath.

I cut circles from the Oakley Avenue patterned paper, and scattered them under my photo. I mixed them with some of the flair from the collection, as well as some circles I punched from other Oakley Avenue papers with a circle punch. I can't even tell you how much I love the Oakley Avenue collection! The colors and patterns are so stunning, and I love the mix of clear, vellum, and regular patterned papers. The layer behind my photo is the most gorgeous multi-colored vellum!

I finished the layout with die cuts throughout the page, and used gold thread to stitch some of them down. If you haven't picked up Oakley Avenue yet, you are definitely missing out! Thank you for joining me today!

So Spooky

Hello friends! Today I'm sharing a spookly layout created completely with products from The Cut Shoppe!

This layout uses the new Ghost Town Digital Collection, and the super cute Happy Halloween Wood Veneers!

I began the layout by splattering the background with orange and black mist. I cut my title out from the Creepy Crawly cut file, and backed it with patterned paper from Ghost Town. I also used Ghost Town papers for my layers behind my photo! I cut Tangled Web from black cardstock, and trimmed it down to individual webs for the rest of my background. I added the wood veneers and a few enamel stars to complete the page.

That wraps it up for today, thank you for stopping by! I hope you feel inspired to create some spooky pages!
