First I Drink the Coffee . . .

Hello Cut Shoppe friends! It is hard to believe that a year has already gone by and I'm posting my last project with The Cut Shoppe. I have loved every minute of working with Ashley and this team of talented designers and look forward to future endeavors.

Today's project is a traveler's notebook spread using the Cuppa Joe cut file - even though I haven't traveled - which I am totally loving right now.

My project began with the spread on the left, which uses molding paste, a stencil, and gold embossing powder. Once I had the paste on the paper, I sprinkled the embossing powder over the top of everything, removed the excess, and then set it with my heat gun.

Next, I pulled some Pink Paislee and Crate Paper patterned papers from my stash (past Scrapbook Circle kits) and cut the sentiment using the Cuppa Joe file. These were adhered using foam squares and glue. This page was completed with a floral die from Paige Evans and a strip of the dotted paper to tie the spread together.

Next came the right side with my black and white photo. Here, I used more of the dotted paper from Paige Evans as a background. The photo is backed with patterned paper from Crate Paper and adhered with foam squares. Next, I used a journaling card that is cut in half - the top half is above the photo with the bottom half below.

The top of the photo is embellished with the gold "bliss" sentiment by Heidi Swapp and stickers from Webster's Pages and Shimelle.

The finished spread gives you an idea of just how much I love my morning coffee.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you are inspired to create!

My Friend

Hello Cut Shoppe friends! Today I am sharing a project made with the Flower Power cut file from The Cut Shoppe Etsy store.

As a teacher, I have the opportunity to spend time with some pretty amazing people and these two are no exception. Last week I went with two other advisers and 20 high school students to the FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) state competition for 4 days. During that time, I was able to connect with kids and forge some lasting relationships. These two happened to show me photos they had taken earlier and agreed to let me use them on a layout.

To begin the project, I used the Flower Power cut file with white card stock. With the background cut, I then backed almost all of the flowers with patterned papers from Fancy Pants Designs, Pretty Little Studio, and Pink Paislee.

I adhered the photos to the page and began embellishing using the Fancy Pants Designs Millie and June Collection.

The journaling is simple with a few strips of printed text below the pictures.

Once I got home I was able to add a bit of stitching to the centers of a few flowers for texture. The finished page is fun and captures great memories of time well spent.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you are inspired to create!!

Lucky Guy

Hello scrappy friends! It's Zinia here sharing a layout I create with some of the most recent designs from The Cut Shoppe store.

I decided to play around with the Social Butterfly cut file. I really love how fun and whimsical this design is. Also it worked perfectly with the bright spring colors from some of latest collections that I wanted to use with it.

I edited out part of the design to create an empty are for my photo and title and I cut it out of white cardstock.

I used papers from Dear Lizzy "Lovely Day" and Shimelle "Little by Little" collections to back the butterflies. I only used adhesive at the middle of the butterfly shapes to let the wings pop a bit off the page.

I kept my embellishments really bright and playful. I got some animal shaped ephemera and layered stickers from the "Lovely Day" collection and a few chipboard flowers from Pink Paislee "Oh my Heart". I went for a balck and white photo to help it pop between all those bright colors.

So that's it. I really hope you enjoyed this layout. I will see you again soon with another project. Till then, happy scrapping!

Always be a Unicorn

Hello Cut Shoppe Friends! Today I want to share a layout I created using the A Walk in the Clouds, Quick Quotes, and Unicorn Xing cut files. This project has a lot of subtle detail in the background and the title pops with rainbow-colored foil.

Since I knew the title was going to very colorful, I decided to use white cardstock for the base as well as the cloud background.

To create the title, I used the Quick Quotes cut file with Heidi Swapp toner paper. In addition to the title, I also cut stars from the Unicorn Xing file. Once everything was cut, I applied Thermoweb Deco Foil with my Minc to each of the pieces.

All of this was layered on top of the A Walk in the Clouds cut file, which was sized to fit the 12x12 piece of white cardstock.

The photo is matted on a white glassine bag that I've been hanging onto. I used a small piece left over from the bag to type "Halloween 2005" with my WRMK typewriter, which I adhered to the picture. I followed that with the negative cuts from the clouds, which I adhered with foam squares. Last, I placed a few of the stars above and below the photo to balance the color on the layout.

Lots of Love . . . Literally

Hey everyone! It's Jennifer today sharing a layout created with the Lucky in Love 12x12 cut file from The Cut Shoppe along with the gorgeous We R Memory Keepers CMYK Rose stamp kit.

This layout is one of those projects that just kind of happened. I was playing with my new stamps one night and decided it would be fun to try to create my own patterned paper. Stamping is not usually my "thing," but I had to have this rose stamp when I saw it and have absolutely fallen in love.

Because the background paper is very busy, I decided to again use white cardstock to cut the Lucky in Love file. Once it was cut, I attached it using machine stitching on each of the hearts and left the cut threads long to give a bit of fun texture.

I chose to keep the embellishments to a minimum and used pieces from a few Crate Paper collections.

I love that simply using white cardstock, a cut file, stamp, and a few embellishments can create such a wow factor.  The finished layout is bright and beautiful and works so well with the black and white photo.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Be sure to visit The Cut Shoppe Etsy Store for this and many other fantastic cut files!

Limited Edition

Hello scrappy friends! It's Zinia here sharing a layout I create with some of the most recent designs from The Cut Shoppe store.

The cut files are used are Instant Camera and Quirky Quotes. I wanted to make a grid using the lovely frame designs but I cut my paper pieces a bit too small and I failed aligning them properly in my Silhouette mat. So I had to re-think the whole design and find a creative way to use my pieces cause I didn't want to waste that pretty paper.

I ended up layering the frames on the side of the page creating a big cluster of photos and embellishments. I used different little pieces to hide the badly cut sides so that nobody could tell there was a mistake behind these lovely layers.

I used a mix of the American Crafts Hazelwood collection and some of my favorite Maggie Holmes lines. They worked out really well with the pastel colors and the pops of bold details.

So that's it. I really hope you enjoyed this layout and the little tricks I used to cover my "failed" cuts. I will see you again soon with another project. Till then, happy scrapping!

Beautiful Sisters

I don't know about you, but I am ready for spring and warmer weather. Since I can't change the weather or afford a trip to the Bahamas, I will have to settle for this flowery layout that uses the Girl Stuff and Scribble Scrabbles files from The Cut Shoppe and the Cute Girl collection from Crate Paper.

To begin the layout, I used the Scribble Scrabbles cut file (the hearts) and patterned vellum paper to create a large background and the base for my photo, title, and embellishments. It is a little hard to see; however, I machine-stitched around the cut file several times with white thread.

With the base adhered, I next cut the title from the Girl Stuff file. To give more depth, I used the offset feature on the Silhouette Cameo to create the slightly larger pink background on the black and white patterned paper.

Next, I began attaching the embellishments around the diameter of the Scribble Scrabbles cut. While doing this, I laid the photo and title on the layout and then arranged the embellishments where I thought they looked best and would still be visible.

With the embellishments in place, I used double-sided foam squares to adhere the photo and title.
