Playing Ball with Kira

Hey there!  It's Kira and I am back with another layout in my Life Crafted album.  Here's a look at my completed layout:

I started this layout by typing up a story about my dog Folsom.  After typing it, there was a small space at the bottom where I knew I could put some embellishing.

Since the story is about Folsom's love of playing fetch, I decided to punch green circles (like tennis balls) and then I used the All Caps Alpha to cut out the word "ball" in pink patterned paper.  I adhered these letters using foam adhesive.

On the reverse page, I printed a great picture of Folsom running with his tennis ball.  I used a frame from the Dear Lizzy She's Magic collection  to frame the photo, then added a pink tiny word sticker to carry some of the pink over the the right side.

I wanted to continue the idea of the green tennis balls, so I punched a fifth circle out and built up an embellishment cluster over top.  Then using some embroidery thread, I hand stitched a "bounce line" leading to the ball.

Thanks for stopping by!

"New turtle species" with Anna Komenda

Hello everyone. It's Anna here with another project created with The Cut Shoppe cut files. To be honest I always have a problem creating with TCS files because there are so many so fantastic ones and I can't decide what to use. I spend hour jumping through the files trying to decide if it's the right one. This layout wasn't an exception... I had this fun picture of my daughter wearing a turtle shell and wanted to make some light and simple layout with it.

Finally, after many deep thoughts, I picked "Get to the point" background cut file and used white cardstock to cut it. I backed it with some patterned paper and sewed around.

I glued the picture in the spot where all the arrows pointed. It's a great design to highlight only one picture. I embellished area around the photo but I didn't want to cover too much of a background.

My title is a combination of alpha stickers and a cut out. Word "turtle" was created with the "All caps alpha" file and painted with watercolors.

I like creating those light and fun designs and cut files are the perfect way to spread your stash and make unique pages.

That's all for today. Thank you for stopping by and see you in November.

Oh Ava

Hello its Melissa here and I can't believe May is nearly over!  Its almost Winter her in the Southern Hemisphere, and my youngest is 6 months already!!

For this post I decided to focus on a layout with a big title and small photos.  I used my March Hip Kit, and in order to make this layout come together quickly I used the Paige Evans Oh My Heart paper with all the squares of patterns on it.  I cut the title with the All Caps Alpha.  When I first made it the letters were getting a little lost, so I outlined them with watercolours in corresponding colours. This layout is all about our baby girl and her love for her blanket.

I love the little bear sticker from Shimelle's Little by Little collection standing on the "A"!

I had fun layering the Oh My Heart floral die cuts.

Here is the All Caps Alpha.

Thanks so much for looking! I'll see you soon in June.
