So Fabulous

Hey, everyone!!  Kat here today!  For my last layout for The Cut Shoppe I decided to combine an old favorite with a newer file.  I ADORE the Plus Infinity background cut file and I've wanted to use it for awhile, but didn't have any good ideas.  And then we moved recently and I was forced to go through all my scrapbook stash and found some pretty glitter paper buried at the bottom of a paper pile.  I was inspired to create this bling-ed out layout about my niece:

For my title I used the This & That cut file - I think it pairs perfectly with the bling-ed out background!

And here's a close up with the light reflecting off the page so you can see just how glittery it is.  I LOVE it because it highlights my niece's personality so well - she sparkles and shines so brightly!

Here are the files I used in this layout:

I also just want to take this time to quickly thank Ashley for having me on the team for the last few months.  I had such a great time and it was such a fun opportunity!  I can't wait to see what new files she creates in the coming months!!

Pool Fun

Hey, everyone!  Kat popping in today to share a quick layout with you.

I know a lot of kids in the U.S. and other parts of the world are getting ready to go back to school, but I just can't let go of Summer...well, in this case, the Summer-y photos featured are actually from Spring Break, but I think you get the point ;-)

I got really excited about the "Make a Splash" cut file when I saw it and instantly thought it would be really cool to blow up the stacked words to make a background.  It really was perfect or highlighting photos of my niece at the pool.  I cut out the stacked words and the sun and water-colored them before removing them from my cutting mat.

I kept the rest of the layout pretty simple because I really think the cut file looks so good on its own!

Here is the cut file that I used on this layout:

Thanks so much for stopping in...if the kids in your family haven't gone back to school yet, enjoy the last days of Summer!!!

Fly Everyday

Good morning, everyone!  Kat here today to show you how I used one of my favorite new cut files.

When I saw the "Any Which Way" background, my mind instantly began thinking about ways I could use it, what directions to place my arrows in, how to fill in the arrows, etc.  It's just such a fun file with unlimited possibilities.  Ultimately, I decided to use the arrows going up and down.  I took the 8.5 x 11 file and only traced 5 rows of the arrows.  I eventually decided to place the arrows to one side instead of in the middle.  I really thought this was the perfect cut file to highlight the photo of my nieces flying a kite on the beach:

I went with a softer color palette than I'm used to, but I think it complements the photo and theme well.  It's hard to tell here, but I also sprayed the cut file with some Calico shine, so it looks really pretty in person.

Hello Summer Vacation

Good morning, everyone!!  Kat here today to share a layout I created with the awesome "Let's Do Summer" cut files.  I love the fun handwritten titles and knew I had to use at least a few on my layout:

I used 2 different shades of orange gelatos to color in the words and used a yellow gelato to color in the sun.  I really like the pops of orange & yellow that are spread throughout the layout.  And it would appear that I crammed as many pattern papers as possible into this one!

The cut files I used for this layout all came from the "Let's Do Summer" set:

13.1

Good morning, everyone!  Kat here, today.  HAPPY FRIDAY!  Before the weekend kicks off, I wanted to pop in and share a new layout with you.

I've had these photos of my friend and I laying around for awhile, but was having a hard time figuring out how to scrap them.  The pictures are from a half marathon that we ran last year and when I saw the "Running the Race" cut files, I knew I had finally found what I needed to scrap these photos!  I also combined the files with the new "This & That" files and some stars from the "I Heart String Art" file.  Here is the end result:

The stars from the "I Heart String Art" file are quickly becoming one of my favorite things to put on a layout - they are so versatile!  For this layout, I misted them with some gold Heidi Swapp color shine and topped them with some glittery gold chipboard stickers.

And here are the files I used:

Thanks for stopping in - enjoy the weekend!!!

He's A Star

Good morning, everyone!  Kat here today with my very first layout for The Cut Shoppe!  I'm so excited!  For my first project I decided to use some of my favorite cut files from the shop: the I Heart String Art cut files and the All Tied Up alphas:

I cut out multiple copies of the string art star in all different sizes.  I then used the negatives from my cuts as a mask and misted blue and lime green mist to create my background.  I misted my string art stars in yellow and used black watercolors on the All Tied Up alphas.  Finally, I layered a bunch of stars from my stash to create the very starry effect.
