#frankenbaby

Hey everyone! Sarah here with my last post as a part of The Cut Shoppe design team. :( I have had such a great time being a part of this team, and the cut files are seriously amazing!! I will be sad to go!

Well, on with my layout! I am IN LOVE with the Halloween files! I have a thing for background cut files. I love adding them as a layer to my layouts and the Tangled Web background made such a cool layer! I adhered it by just stitching it on in a random circle with my sewing machine. I wanted it to look even more webby and I love the effect!

These two adorable speech bubbles came from the Creepy Crawly cut file. They are just too cute! I love making them pop with a bright background! If you didn't know that the Cut Shoppe has printables, then you definitely need to go check them out! The "ghosts and goblins" card right beside my little frankenbaby is one of those fab printables! I love printing them out on vellum to give them a softer look too! Love how you can see a bit of the other patterned paper through the vellum!

I also used the Chevron in a Triangle file as a mask with some translucent embossing paste. LOVE the texture it gives!

I hope you've enjoyed my layouts as a part of The Cut Shoppe as much as I've enjoyed being a part of the team!!

Blessings!

Snips and Snails

Hey Bloggers!!
Sarah here with my second to last layout for The Cut Shoppe *cries* I have had such an awesome time being a part of this team, I really don't want October to end!!

I have to say this is one of my favourite pictures of my youngest son Linden. I just LOVE candid shots and this one with his cute little arm rolls and his little chubby baby body was definitely one that needed to be scrapped!

I used the "Oh Baby" cut file for this layout, but I changed it around a little bit. That's what I love about digital die cutting! You're totally not even limited to the shapes that you purchase! You can ungroup them and change them around to suit your layout! It's so fun!

Instead of using the cut file in it's original form, I ungrouped it and took out the words that were originally in it. Then I added the Snips and Snails that come in the same file and made it fit inside the star!

I backed the star with some white paper covered in a super fun washi tape from the new Echo Park "Creative Agenda" line.  Then I outlined it with a Slick Writer pen from American Crafts so it would stand out more!

Isn't this cut file awesome?! I love how many shapes come in it! So many possibilities in just one file!

There's a new Cut it Out Challenge for October!! Don't forget to play along!!

Youngest Coffee Drinker Ever?!

Hellooooo my crafty peeps!
Sarah here today to share a layout I made starring the cutest little coffee drinker ever!! lol (disclaimer: he's not ACTUALLY drinking coffee, but it would explain the fact that he doesn't sleep!)

I still have quite a few goodies left from the Clique Kits September kit from our team up with those fabulous ladies, and I just love the little wire coffee cups and thought they would be perfect for this layout! I also kind of have a paper crush on this Geo to Go cut file! Any file that I can cut once and use in two different ways on a layout is my BFF ;)

I love how the Geo to Go file adds that little bit of texture and dimension under my photo!

And I REALLY love how I could use the chalkboard paint from the kit and paint some of the geo tag shapes and use them for my journaling!! Sooo fun!

see how cool this file is?! This one is definitely going to be used for many future projects!

Thanks for stopping by!

Be Happy!

Hellooo all my fellow cut file addicts!!

I wanted to share a fun layout I made using the Heart Felt background cut file. I absolutely LOVE this file! It's so versatile! You can use it as a background for a 12x12 or 8.5x11 layout or you can cut it up and use it for cards or just as fun random elements on a layout!

Here's some close ups:

I love how the hearts look like they're doodled!

Head on over to The Cut Shoppe's Facebook page! There just might be a giveaway going on there!! ;)

Photo Bomb!! (a tutorial)

Good Morning!!

Sarah here to show you a layout I made using the Captured on Camera cut file as a background!

To do this I released the compound path by right clicking on the selected file and selecting "release compound path", and chose the files I wanted to use.

Once I had deleted the images I didn't want to cut, I removed the outline of the three phrases I wanted to use (that will make is so it leaves the words as a part of the paper once it's cut and doesn't cut the whole thing out.), then I grouped each individual image back together by right clicking on them and selecting the "group" option. This will keep all the lines together in the cut file so when you move it, it's all one shape still!

After that, it's just a matter of moving the phrases where you want them to be on your layout! I love the Cameo because it's a 12x12 cutting area so I know that the way I've arranged my files on the screen is exactly how it's going to cut!

Once I cut it, I backed it with some fun bright summery paper from Webster's Pages and went around the words with a black pen to make them stand out even more!

Here's some close ups:

This is the cut file I used on this layout. So in love with it! ;)

PS. I Love You

 Hey there!
Sarah here to share a layout I made with the super cute cut file  "A Walk in the Clouds" and "Let Love In" Printables!! I am in love with both of these files!!  I'm on a vellum kick lately and I love the dreamy feel it gives to this layout of my 8 year old reading to his two younger brothers before bed!

I cut the clouds out from the bokeh vellum from Crate paper. I loved that paper so much I just had to buy two! lol  I really love how it turned out!

I had some of these chipboard clouds from October Afternoon kickin around, so I stamped them with a text background stamp and some mint ink to add a little interest!

I also printed the printable on vellum and I have to say, I'm hooked! So love the softness of vellum! It's my new bff ;)

Here's a link to the files I used so you can head over to the shop and grab them right away! hehe ;)

Thanks for stopping by!!

Hello World!

Hello my fellow die cutting fanatics! Sarah here today to show you a layout using a few of my favourite cut files!

It's honestly so hard to choose which ones I want to use because in a perfect world, I would just have a few days with no interruptions to just scrap all day and use them ALL!! lol

I really love the titles in The Cut Shoppe! They just take away half of the work out of creating your layout! I don't know about you, but for me the title is one of the hardest things for me to come up with! It's so nice when you don't have to think too much on it! ;)  The "Hello World" cut file from the Around the World set is perfect for this adorable picture of my youngest son in his new digs!

I can't get enough of this Preppy Plaid cut file! It's such a fabulous and versatile file! I love the added texture it gives! The frame comes from the "Word Frames" cut file, and I am in love with it! The negative words just pull your eye to your photo! LOVE!

Here's all the fab cut files I used!
