Trick Or Treat | Tarrah McLean

Happy Thanksgiving Cut Shoppe fans!

I hope you all had a fabulous day with your families! It's Tarrah McLean back with you,
I am still in Halloween mode here and couldn't resist creating another spooky page!
I just love the Trick Or Treat cut file!
I started out first by using some distress oxide inks to create a little bit of mixed media on my white cardstock background, I used mostly an orange colour and I also splattered some black mist.
I cut the Trick Or Treat cut file from black cardstock as I knew this would highlight the papers the most.
I used the Bewitched collection by We R Memory Keepers on this page, I love how everything co-ordinates and the papers all look so awesome behind each letter in Trick Or Treat!

I loved that I was able to use the Trick or Treat banner stickers on each of the letters from the cut file, it really adds some extra detail and highlights each letter even more. I added some chipboard pieces I have had in my stash for quite a while too including the bat at the top. The other cut file I used was the spider web from the Wicked Fun cut file set. I cut it out of black cardstock, I love how that looks poking out of the potion bottle.

My youngest son dressed up as a zombie mummy for Halloween this year, this photo is so funny how his hands look giant compared to his body! I just had to add that sticker above the photo that says, 'Mind Your Mummy'!!
Here is another detail photo showing another chipboard piece I have had in my stash for ages - the ghost. It fits perfectly there between the 'E' and the 'A' of 'Treat'. A few finishing touches like some star stickers, the date stamp and a few more splatters of black mist finished off my page.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Happy creating!

New Cut Files | Trick Or Treat

Next to Fall, Halloween is one of my favorite things to document.  Like, I LOVE making Halloween layouts!!  They always turn out to be my favorite pages of any of my yearly holiday layouts.  So needless to say, today's NEW Cut Files are all fun, Halloween designs!  These are perfect for documenting past Halloween photos or for your upcoming photos this year.  And you can check out our Holiday section in The Cut Shoppe Etsy store for more Halloween designs.  I used the new Trick or Treat cut file on my layout today.

This cut file is perfect for adding a large title to your layout.  I knew I wanted to back the cut file with patterned papers from the Simple Vintage Halloween collection from Simple Stories.  Since this collection has a more traditional color scheme, with a lot of darker colors, I decided to use White card stock for my background to add some brightness to the layout.  I cut the design from Black card stock and then backed each letter with a different patterned paper.

After I had all of the patterned paper in place on the cut file, I hand stitched some stars to add texture.  I used White embroidery floss on the larger Black stars, to make it really stand out.  Then I traced the stars that were the centers of each "R" onto the patterned paper, used my paper piercer to make holes and stitched those with Black embroidery floss.  I love the look of both colored threads in the title!

I placed the finished title on my background paper, at a slight tilt to have room for my photo at the bottom of the page.  This photo is from 2016 and I had not had a chance to scrap it yet, so it was perfect for this layout.  I added a few embellishments from the collection around my photo, to help draw attention to it.  Then I spaced out a few more embellishments throughout the title to finish off the look of the layout.  And I had to add some splatters of Black Color Shine for an extra spooky look on my page!

I hope you're looking forward to using some of our awesome Halloween themed cut files on your upcoming projects!!  Make sure you visit The Cut Shoppe Etsy store to check out our other NEW designs that are now available!!

Trick or Treat | Tarrah McLean

Hi Cut Shoppe friends,

It's Tarrah McLean back with you and today I am sharing a new spooktacular Halloween themed layout!

I chose the super cool Wacky Web cut file for my layout today. I cut the design from black cardstock and placed it onto a chevron background paper.
I really like the added touches of gold Heidi Shine over the top of the web.

I love how the black cut file looks against the creamy contrast background paper. I contemplated machine stitching through the web but I didn't want to take away from the effect and I didn't want it to look too messy either.

I added a few raw Halloween themed chipboard pieces as well as a few puffy stickers and phrase stickers to embellish. The big 31 is in the glitter Thickers from the Crate Paper After Dark collection from a few years back.

The Trick or Treat title is super old...it comes from an old Little Yellow Bicycle Halloween collection from probably 10 years ago!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Make sure to check out The Cut Shoppe Etsy store for amazing digital files to include on any of your papercrafting projects!

Happy creating!
