Trick Or Treat | Tarrah McLean

Happy Thanksgiving Cut Shoppe fans!

I hope you all had a fabulous day with your families! It's Tarrah McLean back with you,
I am still in Halloween mode here and couldn't resist creating another spooky page!
I just love the Trick Or Treat cut file!
I started out first by using some distress oxide inks to create a little bit of mixed media on my white cardstock background, I used mostly an orange colour and I also splattered some black mist.
I cut the Trick Or Treat cut file from black cardstock as I knew this would highlight the papers the most.
I used the Bewitched collection by We R Memory Keepers on this page, I love how everything co-ordinates and the papers all look so awesome behind each letter in Trick Or Treat!

I loved that I was able to use the Trick or Treat banner stickers on each of the letters from the cut file, it really adds some extra detail and highlights each letter even more. I added some chipboard pieces I have had in my stash for quite a while too including the bat at the top. The other cut file I used was the spider web from the Wicked Fun cut file set. I cut it out of black cardstock, I love how that looks poking out of the potion bottle.

My youngest son dressed up as a zombie mummy for Halloween this year, this photo is so funny how his hands look giant compared to his body! I just had to add that sticker above the photo that says, 'Mind Your Mummy'!!
Here is another detail photo showing another chipboard piece I have had in my stash for ages - the ghost. It fits perfectly there between the 'E' and the 'A' of 'Treat'. A few finishing touches like some star stickers, the date stamp and a few more splatters of black mist finished off my page.

Hello Fall | Tarrah McLean

Hi there Cut Shoppe friends,

It's Tarrah McLean back with you today to share a Fall themed layout!

I used pieces from 2 different cut file sets to add to my layout today. I loved the Fall banner from the Feeling Fallish set and cut it out from the red paper in the Pretty Little Studio Oakley Avenue collection. I also used the top Autumn leaf from the Autumn Acres set and cut it out from the plaid paper from the same collection.

The Oakley Avenue collection by Pretty Little Studio was designed by Ashley Horton, the owner of The Cut Shoppe. Its a really cute collection for Fall projects and I love pulling it out to use.

I love how the leaves turned out using the plaid paper! I machine stitched through them for some added texture and detail. I added some wood veneer leaves from my stash and I like how they blend in and add to the Fall theme.

I love how the Fall banner looks in the red paper, it really pops off the page and makes a statement against the white paper. By adding the 'Hello' from the Oakley Avenue collection above it, it made the perfect title for my page!

Best Kid | Tarrah McLean

Hi there Cut Shoppe friends!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you and today I am sharing a new layout using the super cool DIY quilt cut file from the store!

I had lots of the embellishments left from the Crate Paper Cool Kid collection but only a few of the papers from the 6' x 6' paper pad so I decided that this was a perfect way to use up both even though I didn't have any of the 12' x 12' papers left. I cut the DIY Quilt cut file from plain white cardstock and once I had backed all the triangles with the papers, I simply backed the whole thing against some black cardstock.

The 12 x 12 DIY Quilt cut file

I also machine stitched on the diagonal along the top edge of the flat part of each triangle. I love the texture and added decoration it gives the page.

Because of the time and effort it took to back this cut file, I decided to not cover up too much of it and kept the embellishing to a minimum, mainly keeping the embellishments around the photo.

I love this DIY Quilt cut file as it has the potential to be suited to any theme layout whether that be a boy page like I have done, a travel page or even a pretty girls page. The opportunities with this one are endless!

Today Was Magic | Tarrah McLean

Hey Cut Shoppe friends!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you to share a fun new layout using the Let's Party cut file! I just love the banner look on a layout and decided that the Carousel collection from Crate Paper was perfect to use with the Let's Party cut file!

The Let's Party cut file

I cut the cut file from some pale yellow cardstock and then backed the open spaces with some of the gorgeous papers from the Carousel collection, once the spaces were all backed I adhered it down to the background cardstock and then machine stitched along the tops of the banners to help secure it down and to add some texture.

The photo I chose for my layout is of me at Disneyland in Paris last year. We had an amazing day here! Of course I had to get a selfie out the front of the castle!

With my photo being in the top left corner, I needed to balance everything so I added some embellishments in the bottom right hand corner including that super cute chipboard carousel zebra! I also added the chipboard banner coming out from the photo on the right hand side of the layout.

I LOVE those fabric black and white bows so I just had to add one to this layout!

Make sure you check out The Cut Shoppe etsy store for this cut file and stacks of other gorgeous designs for your crafting!

You'll Move Mountains | Tarrah McLean

Hi TCS friends!

It's Tarrah McLean back you and today I am sharing a new layout using one of the travel themed cut files called 'Going My Way'

I cut the cut file from white cardstock as I knew that I wanted to use that blue paper as a background paper. I like how the white pops against the blue background.
Once adhered, I machine stitched around the circles.

The cut file is awesome for travel pages and just general outdoor pages too!

I attached foam tape underneath the photo mat to create some dimension and also under the 'You'll Move Mountains' ephemera piece that acts as my title for the layout.

I added a few extra embellishments to finish off the layout including layering the corresponding wooden letters on top of the N, E, S and W.

Make sure to check out The Cut Shoppe Etsy store and grab some gorgeous cut files to use in your craft!
