Here & Now | Marsha Farris

Hey friends!  Marsha here today sharing a spread in my traveler's notebook.  I used the beautiful Butterfly Wings cut file from the The Cut Shoppe.

I thought this cut file would pair perfectly with the gorgeous colors in the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Happiness collection.  To begin the page, I cut out the cut file using white cardstock.  I backed the file with a few different patterned papers- it's always worth the extra time it takes to do this!

I chose to document a photo of my family, taken on Easter this year.  I thought it worked well with the cut file and the colors in this collection.   I layered some patterned papers and crepe paper behind the photo, and used ephemera, sentiment stickers, and puffy stickers to embellish around the photo.

For the title, I used some stickers in a fun brush font.  I layered them over a tag and added a few more stickers to complete this area of the spread.

My layout came together so quickly using this fun cut file!

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope I have inspired you to use one of the amazing cut files available at The Cut Shoppe on your next project!

Happy Times | Tarrah McLean

Hi Cut Shoppe friends,

It's Tarrah McLean back with you and today I am sharing a new layout with you using the gorgeous new Butterfly Wings cut file!

Butterfly Wings

As the Butterfly Wings cut file is quite a large design, I wanted to try one of the busy papers from the Cocoa Vanilla Happiness collection behind it to see how it would look. I just LOVE how that paper looks behind the white outline of the cut file.

Once I had the cut file backed, I added craft foam on the underneath side and added it to the pink background paper. I wanted the butterfly to pop up from the background paper to create shadows and dimension.

I have scrapped a photo of my niece, it was perfect to use for this layout as she looks as though she is holding out her arms to look like wings. I placed it right in the centre of the cut file because of this reason! I did matt the photo using a dark blue paper and also layered some other papers and embellishments underneath the photo. I added the butterfly die-cuts scattered around to enhance the butterfly design even more.

My title was added overlapping the photo on the left hand side and a couple of sentiments were added at the bottom of the cut file also.
Lastly some white mist and the date stamp were added.

I hope I have inspired you to check out The Cut Shoppe store for some amazing cut file designs! There is something in store for everyone!

Happy creating!

release | orange gearle

Hi! Orange Gearle here with a layout using the Butterfly Wings cut file and papers by Paige Taylor Evans. This was a super important story for me to tell, and so I needed to add quite a bit of journaling.  I decided to build it right into the design.  Here is my layout:

And here is a look at the file!

I set the file up in my Silhouette software to cut the butterfly out of white card stock.  I also used the offset feature to make an bigger outline of the file.  Then I typed in my text using a sketch font and attached it to the butterfly outline.  I set my Silhouette to sketch instead of cut and Voila! Lots of text, built into the design.  I did make a video showing how if you are interested (see below).

I backed the file with pretty papers and then used a punch to punch out some small butterflies and added those across the page. For the punched butterflies I used the same papers and a couple of 6x8 papers from the collection. The phrases came from a 12x12 paper also included in the collection.

Around and behind the photo I added some tangled thread for texture and more color!

I made a video of my process if that's something that suits your fancy (I also tell the story more in depth and link to how to do the journaling)!

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon! XO o.g.

You make my heart smile with Joanna

Hi friends, Joanna here sharing a a new scrapbook layout. I used the new Butterfly Wings cut file that is just so pretty!

I started by cutting out 6 different sized butterflies with white cardstock on my Cricut and backed each one with vibrant pattern papers. I layered each one around the photo of my girls and fussy cut some flowers to tuck in-between the butterflies.

I love how the different size butterflies gives the page more interest. I popped some on some foam so that some are higher off the page than others. I also used my butterfly punches to scatter a few little ones around the page.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you were inspired. Have a great day!

Think Happy

Hey there! It's Devra here with you today. My layout features the new Butterfly Wings cut file. To be perfectly honest, I wasn't planning on using it. I love this cut file. It's beautiful. My first thought was, 'but it's not me'.

Well, I sure proved myself wrong on this one. As soon as I got my hands on the Crate Paper All Heart, all I could think of was this cut file.  To me, the butterfly is inspirational. The papers are so feminine. They work harmoniously. Pink, flowers, butterfly. Boom.

I used only patterned papers today. I cut the butterfly out of a small pink pattern, then backed it with 3 other papers. Varying the size of the patterns kept it from being too visually overwhelming.  I fussy cut a few flowers layering them over the printed ones, then added few stickers and sentiments, That's all.  Since the butterfly itself it the focus of the page, it didn't need much embellishing! It's too pretty to cover up anyway!

Thanks for stopping by today. Check out this file as well as this weeks new releases and so much more in The Cut Shoppe. Share your projects with us in our Facebook group!
