New Cut Files | The Birthday Girl

Happy Thursday friends!!  It's time to share some awesome NEW Cut Files with you, that are now available in The Cut Shoppe store!  There's a lot to choose from, whether you're looking for peacocks, hearts, Traveler's Notebook pages or a little bit of home!  I used the Stained Glass Heart cut file for my layout, and I can see myself using this cut file more than once!

I wanted to use the new Everyday Musings collection from Pinkfresh Studio, with this cut file. There are some pretty patterned papers in the collection and I knew they would look great behind the Stained Glass Heart cut file.  I cut the design from White card stock and then backed each of the open spots with papers from the 6x6 paper pad.  After adhering it to my background paper, I machine stitched along all of the lines of the cut file.

The photo on this layout, is from our oldest daughter's 13th birthday celebration.  I don't like to do themed birthday layouts, so I thought it would be fun to use the photo with this collection, since it coordinated with some of the colors.  There are some cute chipboard frames in the collection, and the largest size fit perfectly in the center of the heart.  I layered the frame over my photo and cut away the excess photo paper.

Once my photo was in place, I used some embellishments from the collection around each side of the frame.  I love layering the embellishments under and over my photo to create dimension on the layout.  I finished the layout by adding the title along the top diagonal lines of the heart.  The puffy alpha stickers are super cute, and I was able to space the words evenly along the lines of the cut file, by mixing the upper case and lower case letters.

You're definitely going to want to head over to The Cut Shoppe store to check out these newest designs!  Here's a look at all of the NEW ones you'll find!

Wonder Woman

Hey everyone, Michelle here today with a new LO to share using the Star Spangled cut file.  I had these fun photos of my daughter dressed as Wonder Woman on Halloween and I wanted a cut file with stars.  I backed it with papers from the Land That I Love Collection from Pebbles.

I really love how the red and blue contrasts with the white cut file.

I added some silver stars and thread because I needed some shine.

I had a lot of fun with this LO.  This cut file was just perfect for my photos!

Thanks for stopping by!

You Hold My Heart | Erica Thompson

Hello and welcome back to The Cut Shoppe Blog! Today I am sharing a layout using one of my favorite type of cut files..Big Titles! I love cut files with big words/titles and this is so darn cute! This set called Hold My Heart is available in The Cut Shoppe now!
I pulled out my favorite American Crafts smooth white cardstock and added two strips of paper from Paige Evans Pick Me Up collection.
I backed the cut file using the beautiful papers in the collection with my Tombow liquid adhesive and then added to my white cardstock using foam squares.
I printed my photo out in black in white since the colors we had on did not match the collection very well. I added some floral ephemera around the cut file and my photo. To finish off my layout I added some enamel dots and my journaling using my WRMK typewriter!
Here is a look at my completed layout using the Hold My Heart cut file!
I can't wait to see how you use this beautiful cut file! Remember to tag The Cut Shoppe when using any products from the shop! Have a great day!

Back To School | Tarrah McLean

Hi there Cut Shoppe friends!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you and today I am sharing a Back to School themed layout. Down here in Australia, all the kids have just gone back to school after a long 6 week summer holiday. I always like to take my boys photos right at the start of the year when they go back!

The Back To School cut file was the perfect cut file to use on page...I love how all the fun colours from the papers look behind the title.
Back to School

One of my favourite techniques is to back cut files with patterned papers. Once I had it all backed, I added foam adhesive to the back and adhered the whole thing to the grey striped background paper. I also added foam adhesive underneath my photos so they sat at the same height as the cut file on the page.

I love how the Star Student collection from Bella Blvd compliments this cut file, I didn't have a lot of it left but managed to find papers for all the spaces and just a few embellishments was all it needed to make it eye-catching and tell the story.

I love how the foam adhesive adds the shadow and gives the page some dimension and life. I also added foam adhesive underneath the scalloped circle with the owl in the centre. I added stickers both tucked in under the cut file title and also on the top too.

There are many cut files in The Cut Shoppe store that are similar to this large title one, so why not have a look in the store and give a layout like this a try? I would love to see it!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Happy creating!

XOXO With Love | Amanda Baldwin

Hi TCS Friends!

Welcome back for digital cut file inspiration!
Amanda here, & today I'm sharing a Happy Heart Day themed layout featuring the awesome With Love file!

"XOXO"

Sigh!!!!
All.the.heart.eyes for these two darlings!
Absolutely gorgeous!!!
And the best part?
The With Love file is a FREE one! Yessss!
Love me a freebie!
Here's a closer look at the file.....

Download your Freebie FriYAY With Love cut file HERE.
Let's take a closer look at all this Valentine's sweetness......

I cut the With Love file in a pretty watermelon red cardstock, then back it with pattern papers from Crate Paper's Main Squeeze collection. Using my Fine Liner, I glue the back of the cut file - but only along the outline of the large heart. I attach it to my big photograph, and once dry, I fold all the connecting smaller hearts (a bit like butterfly wings) & then fussy cut the excess photo away.
The result is simply stunning!!!
The large black and white photo is so striking against all that pink & red!
& I just love the texture and dimension the folded hearts create!

For added interest, I create a light layer of mixed media to mount the With Love file & photograph onto. I've used Shimmerz Paints Vibez in Sweetheart & Razzeldazzel Berry around the edge of where the heart  will be positioned. So many pretty splatters and droplets!

I use the glossy black Main Squeeze 6 x 12 Puffy Phrase Stickers for my title, & subtitles. The remainder of my layout is lots of embellishing with an assortment of puffy hearts, heart stickers, glitter hearts and even sequins!

Simple, sweet & a perfect cut file for any of your Heart Day projects!
I hope I've inspired you today!

Thanks so much for visiting,
Hope you all have a very Happy Heart Day on the 14th!

Yo Addison | A Birthday Layout

Hello Lovelies! Theresa here to share a fun boy layout, using the Hexagon Heart Cut file. This cut file is brand new in the shop and you can find it here.

Our boy Addison celebrated his fifteenth birthday last August, and he happens to really like pink! In addition to the Hexagon Heart cut file, I also chose Pink Paislee Whimsical products to help bring this layout together. Have a look.

First I backed the cut file using the 2x2 paper pads from the Whimsical collection. My cut file was cut using my Silhouette Cameo and solid card stock from Close To My Heart. I chose a darker shade of the background, which is a pink-ish-red-coral color. The darker cut file contrasts beautifully against the lighter background.I went through an entire 2x2 paper pad to back this cut file, and I am not sad about that! It was fun to cut those pieces and watch the heart come to life with all these pretty patterns!

I also splattered the background with some Heidi Swapp Color Shine spray (Primrose) and Tim Holtz Distress Paint (Seedless Preserves). Once I adhered the cut file to my page I began adding some of the fun elements around the cut file. I began with some of the rub-ons, which create a home base for each of the embellishment clusters. There are three clusters: one at the top left, one at the center right, and one by the photo at the bottom left.

For the cluster at the bottom left I added a few word strips as well. This serves to add more words, which then becomes part of my journaling for the page. The other two clusters are formed from the rub-on strips, puffy clouds and cloud stickers, and star rub-ons, star puffy stickers, and the title of the layout.

My title goes around the cut file, using the alphabet Thickers called Happy Life. I also added just a few of the rub-ons around the edges of the page. They were so much fun and add a truly whimsical feel to the page!

Thank you so much for joining me today! See you again soon!
