Bloom

Hello there!

Nathalie here with a new project that features the beautiful Funky Florals cut file, as well as the free cut file from Scrapbook Nerd, "Bloom" designed by the Cut Shoppe.

It is no secret I love white backgrounds for my pages,   and this  time, i chose to also use white cut outs  for the rest of the layout.  So I cut one of the floral images from the Funky Floral cut file from white cardstock, and backed the cuts with papers from the Oh MY Heart Collection.

Using foam dots, the flowers were attached to the page following a circular pattern -as to create wreaths.  The picture was then glued in the gap between the two wreaths.

For this page title, I continued the white on white design, and chose the Bloom cut file from Scrapbook Nerd ( the Cut Shoppe designs all their free cut files).   Once again, I used papers from the Oh My Heart collection to back the center of the flowers in the cut.

Just a few extra embellishments around the page complete the layout.  The secret to bring a white on white layout to life is all on dimension, a few hints of color are always nice too.

New Cut files - You Wonderful Thing

Hi there everyone!!    It is time for a new set of cut files at The Cut Shoppe Etsy store, and we have  some beautiful and very versatile designs for you!     There are so many possibilities with these cut files, and I am sure you all will find a new way to create with them.   Today's project uses the Spring Forward, and Follow Your Heart cut files in it.  Isn't that heart just perfect for many projects!?!

I used the Follow your Heart cut file to create the background for this layout.  I added an offset to the heart cut file before cutting it, so that I can add some  hand stitching to each of the segments in the heart cut out.   The texture that the hand stitching adds to the background works well with all the papers from Paige Evans "Oh My Heart Collection".

The tags in the Spring Forward cut file are simply gorgeous, and worked perfect to back the picture of my daughter.  I enlarged the tag with the "Bloom" word  in it, so that it will be large enough to back the picture.  Once cut, I used a small piece of vellum to back the tag.   All the flowers in the Oh My Heart collection just worked perfectly to frame the picture and title in the project.

Nathalie, with you today, bringing you a new fun and colorful project using the Open Letter Alpha, Midnight Hour, and Cozy Quilt cut files.   

My son an my nephew are 13 years apart, but they share a bond that is so amazing to see, and i love catching them laughing or playing together.   So I wanted to document one of our favorite pictures of the  two BOYS.  

For this project, I welded the Cozy Quilt cut file with the letters in Open Letter Alpha used in the title (you can follow a quick tutorial on how to create these images on Ashley's youtube channel, just click here to be directed to the video).   Once the images were created, I backed some of the pieces with papers from the new Paige Evans' Oh My Heart collection, and then used pieces of vellum to back the entire letter.

Once the letters were attached to the page, I used the Midnight Hour cut file to create a strip of stars (I simply highlighted just about 3 inches of the cut file, and cut  it on white a card stock.  I trimmed some of the edges a bit after).   The empty spaces of the stars were backed with the same papers, and then attached on opposite edges of the title.   

A few embellishments and some journal lines complete this colorful and fun page.   I hope this inspires you to combine some of the cut files to create a unique design for your layouts.    There are so many possibilities with the different designs available at the Cut Shoppe Etsy store.
