100+ Miles

Good Morning TCS fans, today is a bitter sweet for me.  It will be my last post as your friend here at The Cut Shoppe.  I will not be far.  You will see me continue to work with Ashley's cut files in the future, tagging on Instagram and sharing on her Facebook page.  I am excited that she has reinvented one of my favorite backgrounds - All Heart  with the All Heart Remix.  I had started a layout but changed yesterday when she shared this new take with us.

My boys went on an unexpected LENGTHY 4-wheeling trip last year.  Thinking they would be doing about 80 miles, they were stunned when they returned to learn it was over 100!  Glad I didn't go.  Roman complained about his butt hurting for days!

For this layout, I used a combination of Seven's Amelia line by Studio Calico and a touch of Gossamer Blue and Amy Tangerine.

If you love the original, you will love this!  Go HERE to get both.  Get them all while you are at it.  They are so much fun to work with and very current.  I have really enjoyed my time sharing with you all.  I am grateful for your friendship and this opportunity Ashley, and look forward to working with you again in the future.  The girls on the team are remarkable, be sure to keep checking back to see their amazing talent.  I feel honored to have designed along side of them.

Mother's Day

This year for Mother's Day, we were in Florida at Legoland on probably the hottest day ever!
A couple years ago on MY day, we bought a 4-wheeler for my husband.  Not all the activities we do on Mother's Day are about me.  But, I will confess that I am pretty spoiled most days of the year.  I guess it doesn't have to be solely about me, as long as I am with the one who made me a mother, right!

I have been wanting to created with this beautiful vase of flowers from the
"Happy Mom's Day" cut file.  It was perfect for this layout.

I used Crate Paper's Open Book by Maggie Holmes.  I love the colors and small detailed patterns.

You can see above that I cut and layered the file on four different patterned papers.  Lifting the flowers just a bit with my finger, makes the flowers feel like they are popping off the page.

Here is the cut file that I used.

Head over to The Cut Shoppe ETSY store to see what might work for you.

Thank you for taking a peek.

You're Just Plain Cute!

Recently, I have been digging back to older photos and realizing that I have skipped over a bunch of some of my favorites!  Either the photos or just the activity.  I love these two photo's, it shows that he has been a fan of crafting since real young.  I used Amy Tangerine's Rise and Shine for this project.  The cut file, "Lucky in Love" is adorable even with just the hearts highlighted in yellow paint.

You can see that I used the 8.5 x 11 Lucky in Love background cut file to quietly lay over the beautiful chevron paper.  I wanted it to show but not be to bold.  Touches of black help tie in my foam sticker title.

Thank you for taking a peek at my layout.  Head to The Cut Shoppe ETSY store and grab what you need for cut files.

Neat & Tangled and The Cut Shoppe Inspiration Day 2!

Welcome back to our second day, of our week long team up with the Design Team from Neat  Tangled.  You will see inspiration from both teams, here on our blog and on theirs.  We will all be creating and combining cut files with stamp sets!  You can check out the Neat & Tangled Shop HERE.  Our design team will link to the stamps sets we are creating with each day.

Today it is my turn, Mary-Ann, to share my incorporation of both a cut file and a stamp set.

I decided to create a 5x5 card with both the "A Lot to Say" and "Just Thinking of You" stamps from  Neat & Tangled along with an upcoming cut file "Wild Cards" where you will receive a bundle of four super cute files.  Mixing the two are much easier than you think.  They give you much more room for creativity.

I did heat emboss the stamping and did a little doodling around the perimeter
of my card to tie it all together.

Not only will be continue to be inspired this week, you will also have the chance for discounts and prizes.  Here is some important information.

We are  giving away a $25 credit to the Neat & Tangled Shop!  All you need to do is comment on each post this week.  We will choose a random winner from all of the comments on The Cut Shoppe Blog for the week.  Commenting will be open until Sunday, April 19th and a winner will be announced on Monday the 20th.

Last but not least, you can SAVE 30% this entire week during the team up!  Just use code TCSNT30 at checkout to save 30% off your entire purchase.  Discount valid April 13-18th.

Be sure to stop back by tomorrow to see what Gina and Stephanie create using cut files and stamps.

Smile

Good morning friends!  Mary-Ann here sharing my next layout featuring the "And I Quote" cut file.  When I saw this file, I knew I wanted to create speech bubbles with the fun shapes.  I did turn, stretch and remove the wording from the bubbles.  Let's take a look.

I wanted the bubbles to be like dream bubbles if that makes sense.  Visions of what my boys may be thinking about at the time of the photos, cars, cars and more cars.  This Crate Paper product was perfect for this job.

The "smile" was cut from the Candid Camera Cut file.
A cut that will surely be used over and over again.

Here are the two files that I used on my layout.

Head HERE to the ETSY shop to see what else you may need to drop in your bag.  See you again soon.

We Are Lucky

Mary-Ann here with you today!  I am hesitant on sharing my layout.
Do you ever feel challenged by what you have as a vision and trying to apply that to how you create with paper?  My idea was to create a collage showcasing my boys crazy faces he made with a crazy app on my phone.  Maybe I printed the collage too large?  Maybe it was the color choices of my papers?  There is something that did not translate when I created this layout.  I share this with you today, to show you that you are not alone, hopefully I am not alone. Creating is not always perfect and sometimes results differ from what you have in mind, and that is ok.  I still like the result.
Maybe I will try my vision with a different collage, printing the pictures smaller, leaving more space for embellishments.  But I think this layout is a perfect way to showcase just how crazy this kid can be.  So, join me as I take you through my layout journey.  Or bail now, it is up to you, lol!!

I started by printing my photos through my Silhouette.   You can maneuver your photos to any size, order or shape you want when doing it this way.  I chose my papers, then the cut files I wanted to use.  I used the Geometric Graffiti Background for a subtle white background, and backed it with a delicate polka dot paper.

The "lucky" part of my title is from The Lucky Charm cut file.  This was the word that I wanted to highlight so I made it differ from the rest of my title and doodled inside.

Plastic stars and wood veneer pieces complete my design.
I do thank you for taking a look and letting me share my no so perfect layout
that actually turned out pretty cool.

Here are the cut files that I used for my layout:

See you next time.

CLOSE

Good morning, it is Mary-Ann with you today to share a sweet photo,
beautiful papers and one amazing cut file.
Don't underestimate to closeness of my boy and his Tea Gram.
When together they have rituals.  Visiting their favorite places alone, on a date,
drinking tea together and learning a new craft.
He calls her often and misses her greatly when she hasn't visited in a while.

The beautiful papers embellishments are from Felicity Jane.
Take a look at the top floral paper and now at the Rosey Posey cut file!
Don't you agree that they were made to be together?
Since I am not a fancy cut-filer, if that that is even a word,
I wanted to tell you how I layered this file.  Using the Rosey Posey cut file,
I cut the black cut file first.  I then selected release compound path,
then deleted each of the small cuts that I did not want.  This left me with the flat backgrounds.
I then cut this in two different colors.  Pink and greenish.  With scissors, I cut out the green leaves, placed them on top of the pink cut file and layered on the black.
Now, there may be an easier way, but this works for me.

Take a look at some closer detailed pictures.

Here is the fantastic cut file - Rosey Posey!

Hope you will head over to The Cut Shoppe ETSY store and see what you may be in need of.
Be sure to add this one to your list!
