Hello 2017!

Hi there scrappy friends, Happy New Year,

Zsoka back with you today with my first layout for 2017!

I used the Geo Globe and the NYE Countdown cut files for this.

https://www.etsy.com/listing/500569259/the-geo-globe-cut-file-is-a-large-circle?ref=shop_home_active_33https://www.etsy.com/listing/487077726/the-nye-countdown-cut-file-set-includes?ref=shop_home_active_50

I actually wanted to use the 2016-2017 cut file from the NYE Countdown set but I wanted my circle to be bigger. So I went with the Geo Globe cut file and for the numbers I used the numbers from the NYE Countdown set. I added an offset and welded the numbers together then welded this with the circle cut file.

I finally opened my Studio Calico December kit and chose some papers to work with. I knew it was not a party collection, neither the colors nor the theme, but I was determined to use it anyway. I love the colors in this kit! I picked out pink/coral and gray shades for my triangles in the circle. For my number I chose a multi color paper so it stands out more plus I thought at least this bit reminds me of a party :).

I kept embellishing to a minimum (well, compared to my scrapbooking style). I only added a couple of wood veneers, sequins in matching colors, some washi circles, a diecut and some gray buttons from Studio Calico.

There was also a mini stamp set included in this kit and I found it very fitting - Fresh Start, perfect! I used this stamp as well as the teeny tiny stars! They are adorable!

This cute resin bow is from Maya Road, I love the dimension and texture it adds to the layout.

Thank you for stopping by, see you soon! X

May Mash Up-Love Today

Hello Cut Shoppe friends!  Candace here with you today to share a super fun and bright layout I created using the NSD free cut file.  This is such a fun and versatile cut file!  If you missed it you can check it out here.

I have had a stash of goodies from Studio Calico on my table for months that I have wanted to use.  To be honest I have been a little nervous to step out of my comfort zone and create such a bright and colorful layout.  My style tends to lean more toward the simple when it comes to creating layouts but I have really wanted to use up these supplies.  I decided to match the fun colors with the bottom left fun cut file.  Here is a look at the final layout.

The bottom half of the layout is all fringed crepe paper, how fun is that?!  I layered the white cut file over the card stock to give the eye somewhere to rest on the busy layout.  Though I really went outside my comfort zone I like the final result!

After you download this fun free cut file head over to the shop here and check out all the awesome store goodies including the new digital scrapbooking collection here, and the brand new cut files released last week here.

Have a beautiful day!

Sassy Circles-On This Day

Welcome back to The Cut Shoppe blog!  Candace here with you today to share a fun layout I created with the Sassy Circles cut file.  Here is a look at he cut file that comes in both 8.5x11 and 12x12.

I love this fun new cut file!  There are so many fun options with this cut & fold cut file.  If you haven't seen it yet Ashley has a video on how to use this cut file here.  To put it simply the Silhouette will cut along the lines then you fold the paper over to reveal a half circle and a heart!  So cute, huh?!  I decided to take the cut file and trace just one half circle.  Next I made the half circle large enough to cover half the page.  Here is a look at the final layout!

I  layered a bunch of papers behind the heart to simulate a pie chart.  To add definition and texture I sewed down all the edges of the pie chart.  I used various papers and pocket page cards from the Studio Calico April kit.  To finish off the page I added some black ink splatters and some extra stitching.  I love how it turned out!! So fun!  Give this new cut & fold cut file a try and tag #thecutshoppe so we can all swoon over your creations!
Have a beautiful day!

Feel the Love

Hello friends!  Candace here with you today to share a layout made with the Feel the Love cut file.  I still adore all the love cut files that came out during Valentines.  I just can't stop playing with them!

I recently took a photo of all my littles at the dentist. It was just an everyday moment, but it was adorable and I loved it.  This is the photo I decided to scrap with the pie chart cut file in Feel the Love.  I used papers and embellishments from my stash, which felt great to make a little dent in my collection of Studio Calico and Ali Edwards goodies.  Here is a look at the final layout.

And a few close ups...

What a fun layout to create!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!  You can head over to the shop here to check out all the new cut files, printables and pre-cut cut files!

Boys Rule

Are you ready for some awesome new Cut File sets!  This week there are four new sets in The Cut Shoppe Etsy store.  I created a layout with the new Boys Rule set.  I needed a break from girly layouts!  This set is perfect for the boys in your life.  I used several of the images from this set on my page.

https://www.etsy.com/listing/268639039/the-boys-rule-cut-file-set-includes-11?ref=shop_home_active_4

I started my layout by enlarging the Boys Rule image.  I wanted it as the title, but also as a large element on the layout.  I backed each of the letters with patterned papers from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Made of Awesome collection and then machine stitched around each letterI also cut the sketchy circle with the star center and the multi sized star shape.  I like to create my own die cut embellishments to mix in with pre-made embellishments.  I finished the layout, with some Black Velvet Color Shine and the date from the Studio Calico large date stamp.

You will find all of these new designs in The Cut Shoppe Etsy store today!  Stop by and check them all out!

Criss Cross Arrows-Adventure

Hello friends!  Candace here with you today to share a layout all about layering.  Most of the time when I think about cut files I think about full page cut files and using them as the main design element for my page.  But cut files can be used for so much more!  For this layout I wanted to challenge myself use the cut file as a layering piece to add interest and dimension to my layout.  For this little challenge I used the Criss Cross Arrows cut file.

I cut down the 8.5 x 11 cut file and layered it behind one of my all time favorite photos of my hubby and boys out on an adventure hike.  I added some hidden journaling in a pocket I created between the photo and cut file.  Once I had some direction the layout came together in a breeze!  With the addition of chipboard pieces, some 3x4 journaling cards and ink splatters the layout was done.

Here is a look at the final layout.

A few close ups...

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope this gives you a little inspiration and some ideas to try on your layouts.  I would love to see what you create!  Please tag The Cut Shoppe so we can swoon over your creations!
Also, just a reminder that there is still a coupon code that is good through the end of December.

Have a beautiful holiday season!

Everyday You and Me

Hi friends!  Candace here with you today to share a fun layout using the One Fine Day cut file!

I was feeling a little dip in my "creative mojo" so I went to one of my "go to" layouts, a circle!  The best part of using cut files is that they can help dictate a bulk of the design of your layout.

I used the "EVERYDAY" circle from this cut file and cut it out of white card stock.  I then layered pieces of colored vellum behind the cut file to help it to stand out against the background.  To adhere all these pieces to the background I added some messy white stitching around the page.  After that the layout came together fast just by adding some embellishments and I finished it all off with a little black splatter and star stamping.

Here is a look at the final layout!

And a few close ups...

I love how the final layout turned out!  Oh, and how I love the two handsome boys in the pic!  To get your hands on this cut file you can visit the shop here.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a beautiful day!!!

12

Hello! It's Jennifer and I'm here to share a layout I created using the new At An Angle cut file!  I used the 12x12 file as my background and backed each row with different patterns from the collection I used!

I used a few Studio Calico wood veneer shapes from my stash for my title as well as accenting my journaling!

I also added some epoxy hearts and dots from Evalicious to the center of a few of the "circles" as well  as enamel dots.

Thank you for stopping by! Be sure to visit The Cut Shoppe Etsy shop to see this and many more fun cut files!
