Be My Valentine | Marsha Farris

Hey friends!  It's Marsha here today, and I'm back with another layout in my traveler's notebook.  I used the oh so fun Be My Valentine cut file from The Cut Shoppe.

Here's the layout I created:

Here's the Be My Valentine cut file:

For my project today, I used lots of January 2020 release products from Elle's Studio.  To begin the layout, I sized the cut file to fit in my traveler's notebook and cut it out on white cardstock.  I backed the words and heart with different patterned papers.  Next, I adhered the cut file to another patterned paper and added it to the traveler's notebook.  To embellish the page, I added some puffy heart stickers and a die cut heart.

For the other side of the layout, I layered a tag behind my photo.  I stamped a label and sentiment onto some patterned paper, trimmed it out, and added it to the top of the page.  I used some phrase stickers and a leatherette sticker to frame the photo.

I did a bit more stamping at the bottom of the page and added a puffy heart sticker.  To finish off the layout, I added a messy hand-drawn border around the edges of the spread.

Thank you for stopping by today!  Be sure to check out all of the fun new designs at The Cut Shoppe store.  I will see you again soon!

shine | orange gearle

Hi!  Orange Gearle here with a layout I made using the Flower Garden cut file. Here is a look at the layout:

I cut the file with with card stock and then I  backed it with papers from Cocoa Vanilla Studios Happiness collection.

I added  couple pieces of flair from {a flair for buttons}, and some fussy cut butterflies. I also fussy cut a bunch of itsy bitsy flowers from the flower paper.

For the title I used these acrylic pieces from Elle's Studio that match this collection perfectly!

I made a video of my process, if that's something that suits your fancy!

See you again soon!  XO o.g.

mug shot | with orange gearle

Hi!  Orange Gearle here with my first Holiday layout of the season!  However, it's not really a holiday layout it's about friendship and coffee -- featuring the red cups that we all know and love!

I knew I wanted to tell this story about our red cup adventure so I searched The Cut Shoppe etsy store for a coffee cut file and found the  Java Script cut file. Perfect!  Here is a look at all of the elements in the cut file (I only used two)!

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the "latte love" and "mugshot" files using black card stock. I also had my Cameo create little holes so I could easily stitch around my title.

While my Cameo was making the hole for the stitching I also used the sketch pen to make my journaling go around my main grid area.

I used up some of my stash for the embellishments -- an older Elle's Studio Christmas collection. The red cup card is an exclusive from a Clique Kit Christmas kit and that lovely flair is from {A Flair for Buttons}.

This was a fun one to put together! It came together quite quickly and I did make a process video if that's something that suits your fancy!

Thanks for stopping by -- see you again soon! XO o.g.

All the Things I Love About You

Hello again friends!  Candace with you today to share a little more Valentine inspiration.  I just adore the latest shop release and my favorite has to be the new XOXO cut file. I love working with grids and creating a nice streamlined layout.  The XOXO file is perfect for creating a grid all about something or someone that you love.

To start the layout I used a piece of beautiful ombre patterned paper from Elle's Studio Little Moments collection.  I then cut the file out of white card stock so each square would measure 3x3.

I backed a few of the squares with patterned paper and left one open to show the background.  To complete the grid I added 3 photos of one of my little guy and a few journal cards cut down to 3x3.

I embellished the layout with a few tags, hearts, word strips and (my favorite) the XO black acrylic letters.  I used white embroidery floss to stitch down the acrylic letters.  I love the pops of white!

I added my journaling to the center card with my typewriter.  To add dimension I popped up the photos and various embellishments.

I can't say enough how much I love the final spread!  I stepped out of my comfort zone and went with a patterned paper background & I love it!!  Try stepping out of your comfort zone this week when your are getting crafty.  You just may surprise yourself and love what happens!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a wonderful week!

Hello 2017!

Hi there scrappy friends, Happy New Year,

Zsoka back with you today with my first layout for 2017!

I used the Geo Globe and the NYE Countdown cut files for this.

https://www.etsy.com/listing/500569259/the-geo-globe-cut-file-is-a-large-circle?ref=shop_home_active_33https://www.etsy.com/listing/487077726/the-nye-countdown-cut-file-set-includes?ref=shop_home_active_50

I actually wanted to use the 2016-2017 cut file from the NYE Countdown set but I wanted my circle to be bigger. So I went with the Geo Globe cut file and for the numbers I used the numbers from the NYE Countdown set. I added an offset and welded the numbers together then welded this with the circle cut file.

I finally opened my Studio Calico December kit and chose some papers to work with. I knew it was not a party collection, neither the colors nor the theme, but I was determined to use it anyway. I love the colors in this kit! I picked out pink/coral and gray shades for my triangles in the circle. For my number I chose a multi color paper so it stands out more plus I thought at least this bit reminds me of a party :).

I kept embellishing to a minimum (well, compared to my scrapbooking style). I only added a couple of wood veneers, sequins in matching colors, some washi circles, a diecut and some gray buttons from Studio Calico.

There was also a mini stamp set included in this kit and I found it very fitting - Fresh Start, perfect! I used this stamp as well as the teeny tiny stars! They are adorable!

This cute resin bow is from Maya Road, I love the dimension and texture it adds to the layout.

Thank you for stopping by, see you soon! X

Holiday Favorites

Hello friends!  Candace back with you today to share a new project using the beautiful Stained Glass cut file.  While last week I used just one circle in the file, this week I decided to use the file as a full background for my project.

I love the look of white on white especially when it comes to cut files.  I love that it adds texture and dimension to a project without adding too much distraction.

For my project I adhered the cut file down to the center of my travelers notebook leaving the sides of the cut file free.

I added a few tags and journaling cards to the right side of my layout underneath my cute family's Christmas photo booth picture.

On the left side of the spread I added a journaling card with a few notes about our family's holiday favorites.

I added just a few details around the page like the puffy stickers, acrylic pieces and labels.  By adding small embellishments around the spread it helps to balance the colors and designs.

I love the added detail and interest the background file adds to the spread.  Give this a try on your next spread and make sure to share it with us!

Have you heard that it is even easier to play all along with our monthly Cut it Out Challenge?

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a beautiful day!

Salt Life

It's time to reveal our newest Cut File sets and my layout for this week!  If you know me, you know I LOVE using circles on my layouts, so I had to go with the new Full Circle cut file set this week.  I repeated one of the circle designs from the set 9 times, to create a mixed patterned paper look for my background.

https://www.etsy.com/listing/463866850/the-full-circle-cut-file-set-includes-4?ref=shop_home_active_1

I backed each of the circles with the 6x6 patterned papers from the Elle's Studio Sunny Days collection.  I always love creating this type of background, because it gives me the opportunity to use a lot of different papers from the collection I'm working with.  You could back each section with a different color too, but I chose to use just 1 or 2 patterns behind each of the circles.

Another reason I love to use circles, is because you've got a built in spot for embellishing!  The center of a circle is always a perfect spot to add wood veneers, enamel dots, Flair Buttons, etc.  I mixed in several Flair Buttons from A Flair for Buttons on my layout.  They matched the Sunny Days collection perfectly!

The Full Circle cut file set is so versatile, and I'm sure I'll use it more than once!  There are three other designs included with the set, and they will all look great, whether you're using a smaller size like I did or if you're going big on your layout!

If you're heading over to The Cut Shoppe Etsy store to pick up this set, make sure you check out our other new sets that are now available.

Beautiful

Hello!  It's Melissa and I'm so happy to be back with you again!  Today I have a layout featuring my youngest Brielle when she was still a baby, and I used the Elle's Studio "Little Moments" collection that was featured in one of my Clique Kits.

I used the gorgeous Sassy Circles cut file, a cut and fold design which you can purchase in the Etsy store here.  I backed the cut file with one of the papers and arranged the half circles in an ombre pattern.  It was time consuming but definitely worth it!  I glued the folded down sides with liquid adhesive to keep them in position.

I also used the Girl Stuff cut file set for my title, and you can purchase it here.

I  kept my journalling very simple on this page, because I've already scrapped a photo from this day for her first year monthly album.

Here are the two cut files:

Thanks so much for looking!
