Valentine Mini

Hey friends! Kelly here with you today to share a new Valentine's Day themed mini album.

I'm not usually into Valentine's Day but this year I was about all things pink and heart shaped. So I thought it would be fun to create a mini album dedicated to all those things! I used my deep cut Cricut blade, a scrap piece of cardboard (the packaging that is included in orders from scrapbook.com), and the XOXO Cut File to create the cover. I used the Melody Ross Chip Art Stamps and acrylic paint to alter the cardboard to give the cover more of a Valentine look.

This mini album was the perfect excuse to use up scraps & embellishments from my stash that I've been hoarding. I also used other cut file images from the XOXO Cut File, A Banner Day Cut File and The All the Things Cut File inside the album. I didn't embellish the album until after I already had it bound, so the challenge was making it fun without making it so thick it wouldn't close. Using the cut files really helped me keep the album from getting too bulky...

...because backing cut files is a great way to add texture without making the album too chunky...

...and there isn't a need to add a lot of embellishing to the pages that have cut files, because they add a lot of visual interest all on their own.

Now you can take a look at my mini album flip through video so you can see the entire album cover to cover.

All The Things You Love Right Now

Hello everyone! It's Enza, and I am so excited to be here again to share projects featuring Ashley's amazing cut files.

The focus of today's layout is the All The Things cut file, which not only served as title for the page, but also inspired the journaling that went with it.

I enlarged the cut file to the desired size, then using the offset function in the Silhouette software created a border. I find that this is the easiest way for me to make a cut file stand out more and create some separation between patterned papers. The Take Note September kit from the Fairytale Club I used here is very colorful and features a variety of patterns. The border around the cut file allowed me to incorporate many of them while still achieving a defined look.

I placed the photo where the cut file had an empty space. To give it dimension, I adhered it down with foam dots. I also added lots of embellishments around it.

I wanted to continue the “All the things” sentiment to include “you love right know”. The bottom heart worked perfectly in place of the word “love”. I finished the layout with several pieces from the kit and my journaling.

Thank you for stopping by today. Make sure to check out The Cut Shoppe Etsy store for this and many more awesome cut files. Have a lovely day!

All the Things!

Hello! I'm REALLY excited about today's layout!  Often times you get a paper collection with a few papers with very large prints that you just can't figure out what to do with. I had the chance recently to work with Webster's Papers Beautiful Chic and this "ALL THE THINGS" cut file from Ashley at The CUT SHOPPE!!

I LOVE this cut file and it comes with a really awesome hashtag cut, too!
I already have plans for that one too, but I'll share that another time.

I decided to go big or go home. That's the motto, right? If you are going to do it, do it up big! I made the ALL THE THINGS cut pretty big and used it on this cherry blossom paper.  I placed it, walked away, and came back and knew that's exactly what I wanted to do with it.  Sometimes you need to just walk away and see if you are still in love with it when you come back. I definitely was!

The layout is relatively simple, but I'm really pleased with it. I feel like the emphasis is definitely on the photo and the cut. It makes me happy.

Be sure to check out this and all of Ashley's other files in the shoppe!  Thanks for stopping!
