Over the Christmas holidays my boys became obsessed with all things Harry Potter. In January we visited an open air movie theatre with a showing of a Harry Potter movie. When I saw the
 Wizarding World cut file in the Cut Shoppe shop  I was so excited to get this memory recorded in my Heidi Swapp notebook.

I choose the glasses and boy who lived cut files and cut them on some white cardstock.

I then adhered the cut files to my background paper. I adhered my glasses cut file to the top of my page, trimming the top of the glasses for a fun effect. 

 For any Harry Potter loving family the Wizarding World cut file set is the perfect one for you!

Hello everyone! I am thrilled to be back on the Cut Shoppe blog today. I want to share my newest project with you using the "You've Been Schooled" cut file!

I have been working away in my Heidi Swapp Storyline Chapters notebook with the theme all about me! As a teacher I wanted to record that part about me so I went searching in the Cut Shoppe store for a school themed file. I came across the First Day Of School cut file in the You've Been Schooled set and new I could work with it.

I cut the file onto some white cardstock and then trimmed off the top word "First"since it was not needed on my page. I then adhered it to my pattern paper and added some texture by adding some back and forth stitching on the word school.

I finished off my page by layering over some letter stickers and ephemera to add a fun look. I love how the bright pops of color contrast against the white.

Accio Firewhiskey with Kira

Hey there!  It's Kira and I am back with a little look at my Harry Potter vacation album.  If you've been following along with me on Instagram, you'll know that I recently took a trip to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, FL with my husband.  And I have been working through my album, little by little, to get our trip documented. 

Lucky for me, I asked Ashley months ago for some Harry Potter themed cut files, specifically because of this trip.  So this probably won't be the first time you see me using Wizarding World in my projects! 

I decided to print out my photo at 4.25x8.25.  I am holding my favorite HP World beverage, and of course my wand.  So I decided to title this Accio Firewhiskey.  ("Accio" is a summoning spell, for all of you muggles who may not be aware, and Firewhiskey is one of the specialty drinks you can grab in the park). 

I cut the word Accio out on some patterned paper, and used some alpha stickers to finish off my title.  I used bits of the same alpha stickers to add little "sparks" from my wand. 

I used some pocket pages to finish off this layout.  One pocket contains my journaling and the other just a subtitle pocket card.

Grateful mini album | Victoria

Hello friends, Victoria today sharing with you my last mini album made with a cut file from The Cut Shoppe.

Thanksgiving is coming, so I wanted to do a little project to remember the spirit of this event.

I decided to make a mini album wich only countains quotes that can help to focus on what really matters in our lives.

I made the cover of this mini album with the cut file Thanks & Giving. 
For the cover, I used the cut file as it is.
For the inside pages, I only cuted the outside of the design, so the pages can keep the shape of the cover.

I chose the collection "Along the way" from Pebbles to decorate my mini album. 

The ephemeras of this collection have a lots of inspirational quotes. It was perfect for this project. 

I used a lot of embellishments : stickers, flair buttons, enamel dots, foam stickers, ephemeras…

Fall Inspired Mini Album with Kira

 

Hey friends!  It's Kira and I am coming to you today joining in on The Cut Shoppe monthly challenge that Marsha has come up with for the month of October.  She challenged us all to scrap in a form that is smaller than how we typically scrap.  Since I typically scrap in 12x12, 8.5x11 and TNs, I decided to shrink down to a mini album!

I like to think that I am the type of girl that mother in laws love to have.  And I am pretty sure that is exactly how my MIL feels.  I try to send her a mini album every few months, so I thought this would be the perfect excuse to make one to send her.  Since it's FINALLY fall, I wanted to keep it in a fall theme.



I started but cutting out one of the leaves from the Finally Fall cut file.  I cut it out about 12 times on white cardstock.  Then I used my Cricut to cut out the filled in leaf, using a few different colors.  Once I adhered the leaves together, I punched a hole towards the stem...but if I was to make this again, I might choose a different spot to punch my hole.

Then it was just a matter of embellishing!  Here's a look at a few of the pages:

On the reverse side of each leaf, I typed out questions and answers that I asked my kids.  I love adding little details like that for my MIL.

Valentine Mini

Hey friends! Kelly here with you today to share a new Valentine's Day themed mini album.

I'm not usually into Valentine's Day but this year I was about all things pink and heart shaped. So I thought it would be fun to create a mini album dedicated to all those things! I used my deep cut Cricut blade, a scrap piece of cardboard (the packaging that is included in orders from scrapbook.com), and the XOXO Cut File to create the cover. I used the Melody Ross Chip Art Stamps and acrylic paint to alter the cardboard to give the cover more of a Valentine look.

This mini album was the perfect excuse to use up scraps & embellishments from my stash that I've been hoarding. I also used other cut file images from the XOXO Cut File, A Banner Day Cut File and The All the Things Cut File inside the album. I didn't embellish the album until after I already had it bound, so the challenge was making it fun without making it so thick it wouldn't close. Using the cut files really helped me keep the album from getting too bulky...

...because backing cut files is a great way to add texture without making the album too chunky...

...and there isn't a need to add a lot of embellishing to the pages that have cut files, because they add a lot of visual interest all on their own.

Beautiful Day Mini Album with Kira

Hello again friends!  It's Kira and I am back with something a little different today...a mini album!  I had decided to make my mother in law a mini album for Christmas, but after printing a ridiculous amount of photos, I decided I needed to start making them for her quarterly.

I started by digging through my scrap box for papers.  I had so many beautiful papers in there that I had completely forgot about!  I kept my choices very eclectic since my photos did not follow a specific theme, they were just snapshots of my kids from August 2017 until October 2017.

Since the only "theme" I had in my mini album was the months I took the photos (does that even count as a theme?), I decided to use the Year Round cut file from The Cut Shoppe.  I cut out August, September and October and the circular shape of these cut files inspired the layout of my mini album.

I cut out basic circles sized to 5.5" in the various scrap papers I found in my stash.  I cut the Year Round cut files out at 5" each in textured white cardstock.  Each month got decorated in various ways, hand stitching, machine stitching, lots of texture...you name it.

Since I was sticking with the circular format in my mini album, I looked for more circular cut files to use from The Cut Shoppe.  I loved the fun shapes in the Full Circle cut file and decided to cut a few of those to add to my pages.  One of them I just layered on top of some pattern paper and embellished simply.  I really like the additional texture it adds to the page.

Another page using the Full Circle cut file was backed with a variety of paper scraps and used as more of an accent page to my mini.

I had a few pictures of my son and MIL on some carnival rides so it seemed pretty obvious that I should use the Midway cut file.  I cut out "carnival ride" in some pretty floral paper and machine stitched it to the page.

I wanted as much texture in this mini album as possible, so I cut out the Arrows with Attitude cut file and sized it to 6x6.  I used a tiny bit of adhesive to adhere it to one of the 5.5" pattern paper circles and then machine stitched down each vertical line and all around the edge of the page.  I added a photo and some minimal embellishing.

I created the cover using the "beautiful day" phrase from the Working Title cut file.  I cut it on white textured cardstock and then used watercolors to coordinate with one of the floral papers I was using.  I machine stitched it to a vellum circle to give it some additional texture.
