oh happy day

Don’t you just love when a cut file matches your photo?

And Love Cut File

Aimee here to share just that!

I used the And Love cut file and
Pinkfresh Studios Felicity to create this layout.

It just amazes me when a collection works so well for you. I normally tend to mix and match companies and collections, but man PinkfreshStudio just nailed it with the Felicity collection.

I cut the giant ampersand from a 12x12 piece of paper from the Felicity collection. I was so torn on what side I should use, the bright pink or the cute little hearts on the backside.

Well obviously I went with the pink, but managed to scrap a small piece of the hearts and included it in my layout.

I used the stripe piece from the 6x6 paper pack and some of the cardstock die cuts to layer my photo.

And don’t forget the AWESOME puffy sequinstickers and color block wood veneer!

Do you love ampersands as much as I do?

Fairy Garden | Spring Fling

Aimee here sharing a spring layout. Using the Spring Fling Cut File

Spring Fling

I recently planted a little fairy garden in my backyard. I have been wanting to do this for sometime, and I am so glad that I did!

I seriously could stare into this little garden all day & daydream.

To create the layered look of the spring wreath I cut the wreath from a sheet of 12x12 red polka dot paper {fine & dandy from Dear Lizzy}.

After that cut I released the compound/ungrouped the wreath and threw out the main construction of the wreath.

This left me with just the petals and the veins of the leaves.

I separated them and then cut them from a patterned paper {the petals} and a plain paper {the leaf veins} {papers from a 6x6 paper padBetter Together from Amy Tangerine}.

Although piecing the petals and leaf veins together was time consuming, I love the effect. I t really makes the wreath pop.

To finish up my layout I layered my photo on some brightly colored papers {papers from a 6x6 paper pad Better Together from Amy Tangerine} some paper flags from Elle’s Studio. And of course some puffy stickers {from sticko}

Do you like to spend time piecing paper together?

Boys Rule

I never thought I would get to use the Boys Rule digital cuts,
but guess what I did.

Just Last week I got to watch my nephew. We went down to the racecar shop and I had him climb into one of the giant dragster tires.
Seriously how precious is this photo!

I just love how this layout turned out. I used the 6x6 paperpad “better together” from Amy Tangerine. Who knew this line was so boy friendly!

I cut and layered and cut a layered.

This layout really took me out of my comfort zone. I’m not very good with pattern play, but I think I nailed it here.

I also used the Elle’s Studio March Kit,
doesn’t the kit work perfectly here!

And don’t think you can’t put sequins on a boy layout; I managed to squeeze some Pinkfresh puffy sequins onto this layout.

Do you like to mix and match patterns?

You'Re PReTty MucH my

Aimee here sharing my layout using one of the “QuickQuotes” quotes! {say that 5x fast}

Can I just start off with how much I LOVE this layout! It came out exactly how I envisioned it. Don’t you just love when that happens. This quote is so absolutely me.

Have I mentioned how much I love using big photos? Well I do, and I love mixing and matching! Oh and how about this fabulous quote. So I pretty much love everything about this layout!

A quick tutorial of how I created the cut, I ungrouped the quote, and then separated the words, I choose 8 different 6x6 papers from Maggie Holmes Bloom Collection and cut them to 3x6.

I placed all the papers on my cutting mat so I could cut the whole quote at once. I then placed the words in the program where each paper would be on the cutting mat. It took some time to figure out, but the end result was so worth it.

I placed the cut quote out onto my paper, then adhered. I machine stitched over each word giving a cool effect and also helps each word “stay” on the paper. I then splattered with some Heidi Swapp Color Shine. I used foam adhesive to lift my large photo off the paper. I finished the layout off with some enamel dots and rubber charms

Our Story

Aimee here sharing a layout using the Tic Tac XO cut file.

I absolutely love using grids, so it was a no brainer to use this file; the grid is already in place!

I first cut the file from black cardstock. I then used some scraps to cut the x’s, o’s and heart.

I just placed the file I had already cut on my mat and then placed the scraps underneath to find the right spot for them to be cut {I removed my original cut before sending the mat through the Silhouette Cameo}

I trimmed down my foundation just a bit and adhered it to black cardstock. I then adhered the black cut to the foundation, and then the x’s and o’s to the black cut.

I then machine stitched over the whole cut.

I printed 3x3 photos of my little guy and I. And added wordstickers from Pretty Little Studio to the heart.

How would you use the Tic Tac XO cut file?

Life's Ruff

Hey crafty peeps, Aimee here sharing a super simple and easy layout using some printables from The Cut Shoppe!

Aren’t these 3x4 cards the cutest! I love how easy they are to work with. If you don’t pocket page scrap, but love the cards, this grid is a great way to use those cards on a layout.

I printed the cards on some pretty thick card stock, and just ran it through my photo printer.

I used some foam adhesive on my photo to “lift” it off the page giving a bit of dimension.

I also used some cut files for some simple accents.

                                give a dog a bone                                                                                            for the dogs

A little bit of splatter paint, machine stitching and puffy stickers and I have a layout that took less than 30 min!

Thanks for stopping by!

Half Hearted with Sketch Pens

Hey there, Aimee here sharing how I created my background
using the Half Hearted cut file and Sketch Pens!

This layout was super fun and easy to create, just a bit time consuming, but I love that I created “my own paper” using a digital cut file from The Cut Shoppe!

First I opened my Silhouette program and imported my cut file, traced and sized it to fit my paper.

I knew I wanted to “draw” the hearts; I just needed to come up with a pattern. To help me with this pattern I decided to change each heart to the color I intended it to be {using the rainbow line icom}.

Once I changed the color of the hearts, I filled them with color {using the bucket of paint icon} so I knew which hearts had been drawn, and in what color.

You can see the red “trace” line on the hearts that are to be drawn or “cut” {using the pen/rachet blade icon} this particular photo the silhouette was working on the blue hearts.

Here the final hearts are being drawn

Here is a photo of the hearts all drawn. You can see that they didn’t all get drawn perfectly, easy fix I just took the pens and completed the lines

I then stitched down the middle of each heart

And here is the final product:

{Embellishments from: Pinkfresh Studio, Color Cast Designs, Amy Tan, American Crafts, Heidi Swapp, 7paper,  & Me and My Big Ideas}

I then focused on using product that complemented the hearts. This is also a really great way to use up your stash!

Thanks for stopping by today; have you used the silhouette sketch pens yet?
