Text Talk

Hi everyone, Julie back again today sharing a layout made using the Chit Chat cut file. This layout is all about text talk & the abbreviations we use on our phones & these cut files are just great for that.

I started of by welding 3 images of the cut file together, in various sizes before cutting them out, I then inked them up, using distress inks, while they were still on the cutting mat. I added some gold texture paste, through a stencil, onto a piece of black cardstock & added some gold splatters. I backed the cut file with various papers & added photos to two speech bubbles. I put pop dots behind the cut file before adding it to the background. I also added a glassine bag with a journaling card in it, listing the abbreviations & their real meaning. I added the abbreviations, in various black thickers, to each speech bubble & sewed around the outer edge. The title I inked the same as the speech bubbles & added a black outline & some bright pink thickers. I finished the page with some enamel dots & a few arrow stickers.

Thanks for joining me, see you soon xoxo

Totally Tropical

Hi everyone, Julie back with you today sharing a layout I’ve made using the Open Letter Alpha cut file. This is a great cut file to use for titles as you can make it really large & back all the letters, which is how I went with it.

I started off by adding some mixed media to the page, gesso, inks & some gold texture paste. Then I added some layers to the top of the page adding a doily, a zip, ripped paper & ruffles of crepe paper. The large title I backed with a selection of patterned papers & added that below the layered papers. My photos I matted on some tissue & patterned papers & added bits & pieces of ephemera around & under them. I finished off the layout with a couple of strips of paper at the bottom, some stitching & a few sequins.

Thanks for joining me today & I’ll be back with you soon xoxo

Hello Life

Hi everyone, Julie back with you again today, hope you all had a great scrappy day yesterday, for NSD, & managed to get a few layouts done.
This month I’m sharing a layout done with an older cut file called ‘Say Anything’
It has 3 sayings on it but I only used one

I don’t know if you can tell from the photo but I did this layout on acetate as I think it gives a different look to the page. I started off by backing the life part of the cut file with patterned paper & gluing it to the page. I then backed my 3 photos with more paper & added these coming down the page & to each photo I added some ephemera. I did a small cluster at the bottom of the layout to ground it & a couple of flair badges, some rub ons & a few enamel dots finish off the page.

Thank you for joining me today & I’ll see you again towards the end of the month xoxo

Hello Fabulous

Hi everyone, Julie back with you again today sharing a layout using the Around & Around and A Way WithWords cut files.

I first added some splatters of black mist to a piece of 12x12 kraft cardstock & then I sketched the cut file Around & Around all over the page choosing just one circle but in various sizes. I used that as a template to sew my messy circles by. I added the cardstock, at an angle, to a piece of patterned paper & sewed that into place. I added some blue glitter texture paste through a stencil & drew a few small circles around the page. I punched some different sized circles out of patterned paper & added those in the centre of the circles again sewing them down. My photos were backed with a few patterned papers & added down the right hand side. To finish the page I added the title, cut from the A Way With Words cut file & a few bits of ephemera.

Thank you for joining us today & I’ll be back with you soon xoxo

Go, See, Do

Hello everyone, Julie back with you again today sharing a layout made using the Let’s Talk Summer cut file.

I decided to go large with this cut file & cut it out to fit a 12x12 piece of paper. I backed it with different patterned papers & added it to my page popping up the middle word on foam tape. I then added 4 photos, 2 at the top right & 2 at the bottom left with a few stickers & ephemera to add some detail. The page was finished with some stitching & a few enamel dots.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my page today & what great impact you can get when you go large. See you soon xoxo
