Bee happy | Anna Komenda

Hello The Cut Shoppe fans. It's Anna here with my last post for this fantastic team. I won't be publishing on TCS blog anymore but I will not stop using those cut files for sure. I am a fan of Ashley's designs for years and I always find them inspiring. So it's not a good bye for me. For my last inspiration I created this juicy, spring page with a lot of flowers.

I used "The flower power" background cut file to create this mixed media and artsy look.

I colored the white watercolor paper sheet with Distress Oxide inks to get fresh background for my cut out. I also colored the cut out itself.

I used a picture of bee that I snapped year ago. It was such a great, spring day with everything blooming around. Insects were working like crazy flying from flower to flower. Just a perfect world.

If you want to learn how to make similar page, I have a video tutorial for you.

Thank you for stopping by and for all those lovely comments during my term. Hope to meet with you somewhere on-line.

Hip to the hop | Anna Komenda

Hello The Cut Shoppe fans. It's Anna here with my bunny layout. I am sick of winter and I really can't wait for the spring to come. I am trying to cheer myself up by using pictures from last year and scrapping them with colorful papers and embellishments.

And what can be more spring related than a cute, little bunny? Last spring we had a chance to play with a bunny herd while visiting countryside and my girls were so happy. I snapped few pictures to scrap them later, as always :D

When I saw the "Hip to the hop" cut file, I knew I have to use it with my bunny photos. I cut the bunny shape but also a title.

It was really such a great page to make. Things came together so easily because of all the new scrappy goodies I recently got.

I love the font that was used to create "Hip to the hop" title. It was so easy to back it with 3D foam to get more dimensional effect.

This is the file I used on this layout:

Thank you for stopping by and see you soon.

Be original | Anna Komenda

Hello everyone. It's Anna here with my newest project created with The Cut Shoppe lovely designs. As usually, I have a layout for you with funny picture of my little clown Maja.

I used very fun "Space cadet" cut file. It looks like a more boyish project but it also reminds me of a circus theme. That's why I decided to use it.

I backed the stars with patter papers. I also added a little pieces of vellum between the circles. It all makes the cut file stand out from the graphic, black and white background.

I didn't want to cover too much of my cut out so I just added some smaller embellishments here and there. I also added a title "be original" cut from the other cut file called "Girl stuff".

Those are the files I used to make this page:

That's all for today. Thank you for stopping by and see you in March.

Stay wild | Anna Komenda

Hello everyone. It's Anna here with my newest layout created with The Cut Shoppe designs. This time I have colorful page with funny pictures of my daughter. You probably all know all those apps, that add ears, whiskers and hats over your selfie. My daughters also love them and they like to pose to pictures when I promise to add something special from the app. I combined few of those photos in a row and printed them. Maja is dressed like an animal on every one of them so I desiged to use "Stay wild" title.

There is even a perfect cut file added this week with this sentence. It's called "Folk art" and it has this "let's stay wild" added. I oversized it, deleted part "let's" and cut it with different pattern papers.

I also loved a cut file "Animal lover" with cute critters, added few weeks ago and I thought it will work perfectly with those pictures.

I also used different pattern papers to create this eclectic mix.

I love when the cut files trigger ideas for perfect pages and I love mixing them together. It's always like "I am making a great use of the money I spend over all those cut files" :D

That's it for today. I hope you like my project. Here are the cut files used by me:

Thank you for stopping by and see you in two weeks.

My lifetime valentine with Anna Komenda

Hello everyone. Christmas is over, time to pull out all those hearts and pinks because it's time to celebrate Valentine's Day. I really like this day. I know it may be overloaded with all that glitter and sweetness but still - you can never have to many ties to celebrate love. I found my soulmate 12 years ago ans I stick to him since then.

The Cut Shoppe is a real gold mine of Valentine's days inspirations with so many cute cut files. I decided to use one from the new release called "Love Ya".

I used a picture of me and my hubby from our wedding day. It was really a touching moment and I want to remember it forever.

I cut the word "Valentine" in a big size and backed it with pattern papers. I love this technique. You can finally use up all the scraps and you get pretty and big element to embellish your page.

Pink and cute hears are always a good idea :) And this is a cut file I used:

Thank you for stopping by and see you in February.

Grow | Anna Komenda

Hello everyone. It's Anna here with my first inspiration in 2018. I have so many scrappy plans for this year and one of them is to use up my hoarded goodies. And what works best with stretching your collections? Cut files!!! You can match them getting new results and new inspirations. And The Cut Shoppe has the perfect cut files for every project.
I created this colorful page today using "Rosey posey" cut file

I used watercolor paper to cut it out and painted is using watercolors. It's a fantastic way to customize your cut outs and make them fit every page.

Those whimsical flowers look so pretty backed with some more intense color. They would also look great backed with paper scraps.

I used pictures of my daughter Maja picking up the flowers and "Rosey posey" background is a perfect match for theme of those photos.
This is a cut file I used:

I also have a process video for this page:

That is all for today. I will be back soon with some Valentine's Day inspiration.

Party on | Anna Komenda

Hello everyone. It's Anna here with my last project for 2017. I can't believe how fast this year went by. I am wrapping up this year with a party themed page. My daughter turned 9 few days ago and we had a party at home. Every year we buy giant balloon with a number and fill it with helium. It's like a tradition. Each year I take pictures of her with that balloon and scrap them like crazy :)

This year we had a pink 9 and when I was scrolling through the Cut Shoppe site I found this fun set of birthday cut files called "Party on"

I thought that those numbers look the same as our balloon and it started the process of inspiration and planning the page.

I wanted to add shimmer so I printed the "9" and "party on" using my laser printer and foiled it with Minc. You can use Print and cut feature or just cut it by hand. Just remember to leave a little offset. Thank to that the foil will cover the edges nicely too.

I used rose gold foil for the "9" and gold for "party on". i also cut party hat and 9 candles using watercolor paper. I painted them with watercolors ans added to tge design.

Taking pictures of foiled elements is a nightmare. No matter how hard you try - you can't show how pretty the foiling is. It looks like a black surface. Foiling is a fun way of using your cut files and I like doing it from time to time. There is a magic happening when you peel of the foil and reveal the foiled image.

I hope you like my page. Thank you for stopping by and see you in 2018. Have a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Picking daisies with Anna Komenda

Hello The Cut Shoppe fans. It's Anna here with my newest inspiration. We are in the beginning of the winter, here in the northern hemisphere and it's even snowing for few days. But to be honest, winter is my least favourite season. The only thing I like is Christmas and my birthday :) That's why winter / christmas projects are not my fav either. I love using bright colors and flowers and butterflies. That's why I have a spring layout for you today.

I built my composition using big and so pretty cut file with joined frames called "You've been framed". I filled some of the frames with three pictures from one photo shot. Few of them are backed with a patterned paper.

Before I glued the frames to my background, I added 3D foam squares to lift the cut out above my base. It created beautiful depth. I filled empty frames with flowers and leaves, that matches my pictures.

This kind of background can be arranged in so many fantastic ways by filling the frames with embellishments. I saw somewhere online a Halloween version and it looked gorgeous. I also think that Christmas version of the layout would look great too.
This is the cut file I used:

That is all for today. Thank you for stopping by and see you in two weeks.
