Fall Fun Layout with Neftali

Hello one last time, friends, as my term with The Cut Shoppe comes to an end. I have had an absolute blast these past six months working with Ashley’s beautiful cutfile designs, and I hope that I have been able to inspire you some. I’m sure you guys will enjoy the talent of the team that will continue next month, as it is full of so many great ladies who truly love scrapping!

So for my last post today, I am sharing a second Fall themed layout using the Finally Fall cutfile set.

I only used the leaf on the far top-right and the “fall” banner below it to create this layout of my little guy at our local Pumpkin Patch!

As far as supplies, I used some new Carta Bella goodies I had just received this week. The banner was cut on Carta Bella and the stickers were also from the Hello Fall Carta Bella collection. The backing to the banner, as well as the backing of the photo, was a Prima paper I had on my desk from my last project.

This layout came together fairly quickly, as it’s not too busy or overly embellished. However, there are some sweet details here and there.

I liked the stitching I added to the banner, which gave it a “handmade” feel.

I also really loved the layering that the leaves gave. I cut out a total of six and clustered them  in groups of three, all using the same Carta Bella paper. Some were just simply turned to the back side, which gave a cool contrasting  effect.

The top right cluster also had part of my title which said “fun” and these Thickers were actually from the Crate Paper Wild Thing collection from this past summer, but the colors went so well! I also added a wood grain heart to this cluster, and a matching sticker.

My final touch was to add a final cluster of pumpkins above my banner and  two more wood grain hearts, one in each cluster. And, a few orange splatters, of course.

That, friends is how I created this final layout as a Creative Team member of The Cut Shoppe. I have been so lucky these past months to work with suck gorgeous, easy-to-use designs, and I will now be a regular customer of these pretties. I hope that I have inspired you all some bits here and there, and I thank you all for coming here and reading my posts. I wish you all a happy Fall season, and a wonderful day! Bye, now!

World of Octobers with Neftali Zambrano

Welcome back Cut Shoppe friends! It is Neftali back again hoping you are all having a lovely and relaxing Saturday. I am sharing another fun layout today but finally switching gears from Summer to Fall, because we’re already mid month in September.

Can you even believe that? Time just flies, but good thing the weather is cooling down and all those crispy fall feels are coming back. Which is why today I am sharing a fun Fall themed layout using the “World of October’s” cut file.

This is such a gorgeous cut file with such a fun Falsaying, I knew I had to make it center stage on my layout.

I cut it out on some pretty patterned paper form the Auburn Lane collection. I used the negative part of the cut file to place it just as it is cut, above a fun pumpkin photo from last year’s Pumpkin patch trip.

Here it is:

I used some Prima die cuts, leaves from the Amber Moon collection.

Plus the 3D flowers from the Auburn Lane collection to create three fun layered clusters around the page.

To add some more interest to an otherwise plain white sheet, I added some orange and black splatters and a few gold 3D drops.

My final touch was to go around each word with a thin liner black marker to make the title pop just a bit.

Such a beautiful saying for such a classic pumpkin photo. I’m just ready for pumpkin season, y’all! I hope you are too, and that you have found some inspiration through this layout.

I will be back one more time later this month to share a final dose of scrappy inspiration as a Design Team member. Thanks for stopping by friends! x

Current Mood Layout with Neftali

Welcome back TCS fans! It is Neftali with you today, back to share some more cut file inspiration. Haven’t you all been loving the cut files? I totally have and that is why I’ve recently been playing with the older ones. I just can’t let some of them pass me without playing with them, even though there are so many gorgeous one coming out twice a month. Today I am playing with the “Untamed Heart” cut file shown below.

This design seems like a classic staple cut file to me, and I was so excited to be able to finally have it in my hands! I decided to use up some more of my favorite Crate Paper collections to create this layout:

As you can see, it’s just a big ol’ mix of Crate Paper goodness on a page. I used the CP Good Vibes, CP Here + There, and CP Wild Thing papers and embellishments to create it.

I decided to use a fun photo of myself from last summer just acting silly for the camera. The collections have so many mixes of patterns and colors that I felt they went will with the mix of patterns I am also wearing.

To add a special and more feminine touch to my layout, I added two small doilies to back my photo. I feel like they add the perfect female touch to these bold colors all around.

I was also super excited to use some black splatters from a brand new black mist I just recently added to my collection. It’s also a staple, and it pops so well against this page.

As you can see, I had sort of a diagonal set up around my photo from the title at the top left of the heart to the pink flower and glitter thicker leaves and the bottom right.

To add a little something to my heart cut file, I also added a mini cluster to the top right of it with matching colors and textures.

My final detail was to rip my page and create that popular peek-a-boo embellishment with a thicker heart inside of it on the bottom right of my page. I also added some staples and went back around my heart to add a few more staples in two more areas.

That’s all I did to create this fun layout. I loved using my mix of Crate Paper stash and finally using a cutfile that I have seen be recreated in so many ways throughout the years. I’ve got one for my own books now!

So, have I inspired you to grab your favorite supplies and create something fun with the “Untamed Heart” cut file? I sure hope so! Thanks for stopping by, friends! x

Hey Girl Hey Layout with Neftali

Hello and welcome back Cut Shop fans! It is Neftali here with you today and I am back to share yet another Summer themed layout.

This time I am so excited to share because I used probably one of my favorite cut files by far! I used the Vacay Mode cut file set which is up on the Etsy shop now.

This set is seriously loaded with so many awesome options which are versatile enough to be used in both boy and girl layouts and family oriented summer layouts as well.

When I saw this cutfile, the first thing that stood out to me was that gorgeous swimsuit! I couldn’t resist not putting it on a layout. So what I did was I opened it up on my Silhouette Studio and used the super quick steps that Designer Ashley Horton shares in this video to choose a single image, and to be able to resize without using the rest of the icons. I also kept the flowers on the flip-flops to use as a stencil on this finished page...

I love it!

So, I resized the swimsuit to fit the size of my page on a diagonal. After I cut it out, I traced around it and stitched with some matching pink and minty green threads. I don’t usually go for stitching because it is very time consuming. But I felt like it would be perfect to do for this specific cut file considering it’s a form of clothing.

I also added a bit of texture around the page by using the cut out flower negatives to use with some modeling paste as a stencil. I love the subtle but perfect tropical feel it gives, and it doesn’t make my page look so bare around the white spaces.

So I decided to bring out my long time hoarded (don’t we all relate? haha) Summer Lights collection by Pink Paislee to scrap a photo of myself at the beach feeling bold and beautiful in my swimsuit.

Life’s too short to care how the swimsuit fits, gals!

I kept the photo to the bottom right of the swimsuit surrounded by a cluster of embellishments from the ephemera pack, chipboard stickers, and card stock stickers.

I balanced it all out by adding a second cluster of embellishments to the top part of the swimsuit and basically keeping that tag as my title, “Hey Girl, Hey.”

That is how this layout came together, friends. I love the fun feel to it that comes from the Summer Lights collection, and I just love the whole fresh feminine feel to it all.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project share, and I hope that you feel inspired to play with the Vacay Mode cut file set available on the Cut Shoppe Etsy Store! Thanks for stopping by, xo.

So Lucky TN Spread with Neftali

Happy Saturday scrappy friends! It’s Neftali here with you today to share some scrappy inspiration. Today I have a super duper quick Travelers Notebook spread using the Beach Bum cutfile set below using gelatos and a fun trick to mix them into your Travelers notebooks!

I only used the sea shell cutfile out of the Beach Bum set for this project.

Before I continue, let me show you the finished spread:

It’s a super simple spread that I decided to create to keep the main focus on this stunning photo of the sunset here in California. I also chose my colors from the photo and kept it to a monochromatic gold.
So for my background I brought out some more Gellatos in a copper, gold, and peach color.

I didn’t use water at all, instead, I used my fingers to rub out the color. It works wonders, too. The warmth of your fingers helps rub out the creamy crayons, and since were working on such thin pages from the TN notebook, this is a perfect technique to add a bit of color on your backgrounds.

I also used the gelatos to color over the cutfile and it just gives it the perfect pop off the page and the colors of the background.

Not only did I use the gold color schemes gellatos but I also added some gold shimmer spray. Then I was ready to add my photo. I just cut that to add to both sides of the spread, instead of folding it, and I finished it off with some gorgeous gold glitter Thickers with the phrase, “So Lucky.” Because seriously, there’s no other feeling you get standing at the foot of this glorious sight.

So, lovelies, this was pretty much all I did to create this TN spread. It came together very quickly, and I am actually currently loving popping into my TN or other projects to create simple projects that include new and fun techniques. I hope I have inspired you all to grab this cut file and give it a go for those summer photos you might have.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Shine On Layout with Neftali

Happy Monday lovely readers, it’s Neftali here today to share a fun layout using mainly Cutfiles!

I know it’s fun to always bring out our stash to create with the gorgeous TCS cutfiles, but have you ever created a layout using only cutfiles? Well, let’s get into today’s layout share!

For this particular layout I used the Floral Arrangement cutfile that wasn’t live on the shop on the 28th of June.

These beautiful florals had me thinking which way I could use them on my layout. I thought about backing them with some pretty patterned papers. But then I remembered I have just recently received some glitter pastes in pretty much the perfect colors for a floral arrangement. So I went for it, and simply spread the glitter paste using 4 different colors.

For the base of my page, I used some gelatos as watercolors to add a bit of color to my page. I then added some gold splatters and waited for that to dry.

Once it was dry, I stuck my flowers and leaves in a diagonal shape and quickly added my photo. One of me a couple of years back when I had purple hair and was having fun using some filters. It’s always great to scrap older photos I’ve been holding onto for some time!

The final touch was my title from the Vicki Boutin Thickers which went so well with all the fun glitter on my page!

So friends, I want to challenge you all to try out a layout where you use minimal supplies to make your cut files the main attraction!

I can’t wait to see what you make. Thanks for stopping by today!

It's All Good Layout with Neftali

Hello there, it’s Neftali back with you today to share another layout using the “Beach Bum” cut file set that went live on the shop on the 14th of June. Have you seen it? It’s perfect for recording your summer and coastal adventures!
I only used the gorgeous leaf cutout and used that as a focal point to my page that I am sharing with you today.

Here it is, a personal layout to remind myself that “it’s all good”:
As far as what my focus was when creating this layout, believe it or not, it was all about using some of my favorite summery supplies and just having fun.

I only worked with my creativity taking the lead. I didn’t think much about where I put things, and I don’t even remember having a plan when I started. I simply put pretty on pretty together and came up with this fresh summer layout.

I used a watercolor sheet of paper this time around, as well. So you might notice that it’s a bit off-white. But I did add some pink watercolor streaks and splatters, so that the green color the leaf can really pop!

One of my favorite details was adding the vellum trim with those cool tribal looking patterns behind and under my photo. It’s seriously my favorite part of this layout, even though it’s such a small detail.

For the rest of the embellishing around my photo, I used a mix of Crate Paper’s Good Vibes, Here + There, and Oasis. They mix together incredibly well!

To anchor everything I added some patterned paper strips to the bottom border of my page and ruffled those up to give some fun texture.

Plus, another fun cluster of embellishments on the bottom left of that border. I couldn’t resist not adding some cactus details, plus they went so well with the green of the leaf.

So, friends, that is my layout for today! I want to invite all of you to just grab some of your favorite supplies and get crafty with a cutfile. Sometimes you just gotta create something fun and random to bring back that flow of creating (psst..one of my secrets!).

Well, that’s it from me today. I will be back once again next month to share more fun inspiration using the awesome cutfiles from the shop! Until next time, stay crafty! Xo
