Sweater Weather

Hi! Irit here and I'm so happy to share this layout I created using some of the new cut files in the store. Here's my finished layout-

I used the Fall Finds cut file for my title.

I cut it out of white cardstock and outlined it with a pencil to give it more definition. For my background I used the 12*12 At An Angle cut file, but I only used a 6*12 strip. You can use the other strip as a stencil!

I backed the die cut strip with paper from the new Maggie Holmes Shine collection, as well as for my embellishments. Here are some close ups-

There's also a process video-

Check out the Cut Shoppe store on Etsy for lots more fun cut files! I'll be back next month with another project. Thanks for visiting!

Sweet Dreams

Hi everyone, Julie with you today, sharing my first layout for the Cut Shoppe. I choose to work with 3 cutfiles; Happy Little Clouds, Flocked & Feathered & Sweet Dreams.

I cut some feathers out & used the negative piece as a stencil to ink my page first & them laid the cut feathers over the top after inking them. I cut a ring out of card & bound it, all the way round, with embroidery thread. Inside the ring I punched holes & threaded more embroidery thread to make a star pattern. I attached that to the page & added more thread to look like the feathers were hanging from the ring, so making a dream catcher.

I cut out some clouds from the happy little clouds file & sweet dreams & inked around the edges & also went around with a black pen to make them stand out. I backed one of the clouds with some vellum & the others I used an acetate card from the Pinkfresh Studio Happy Things collection. I made a photo mat with some papers from the happy things 6x6 paper pad & added my photo on top. My title I inked in 3 different colours & again I drew around it with a black pen. I finished off the layout with a few splatters of mists & some star sequins.

Thanks so much for taking a look today & I’ll be back with you towards the end of the month,  xoxo

Seriously Cute

Hello, it's Cara here today!  Today is my Silhouette's first birthday! and to celebrate, I put it to good use!  It was roaring and whirring away to cut out these fun cuts files.

I used 'Seriously' from the Moodly Blues cutfile, backing each letter with patterned paper or a photo.

The Moody Blues cut file includes 6 icons, that can be used on your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

Then, I took the 'cute' from the Candy Hearts cut file.

The Candy Hearts cut file consists of 4 heart shapes with phrases, that can be used on your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

Have a fab day!

Hello, it's Cara today with a new layout for you :D

I used the It's My Party and X Marks the Spot sets to create this New Year's layout.

The It's My Party cut file consists of 6 party themed icons, that can be used for your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects. The X Marks the Spot background cut file is available in 8.5x11 & 12x12 sizes, for your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

I was inspired by that lovely 'Celebrate' so I cut it as BIG as I could on sparkly red cardstock. :D  I only cut the X marks the Spot background on the bottom 3rd of my background paper and layered strips of patterned paper underneath.

Then, I found a left over cutesy cloud on my desk from my last project and added it in.  It's in the Happy Little Clouds set.  Basically, it's only job on here to to be stinkin' cute!!

The Happy Little Clouds cut file consists of 3 cloud icons, that can be used on your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

Have a fantastic day!

I Love the Life We Live

Is it too early to wish you a Happy New Year? I'll do it anyway, HAPPY NEW YEAR! Imagine me throwing confetti in the air and blowing one of those noisy horns in your ear!.

I am pretty excited about 2015! I'm ready for it!

I chose the Make It Merry cut file from The Cut Shoppe, for this layout. I have wanted to use this paper for quite some time and I thought it would be perfect for this project to feature the stars on this bright paper from MAMBI. The photo is actually an older photo of the boys, but I felt like it fit with the rest of the layout beautifully!

Overall, I kept the layout relatively simple, that isn't always the case. But, I really want this photo, their expressions and the story it's telling to be the focal point.

I took two close up photographs to show you the detail in the star designs.
I love that they have both positives and negatives throughout the entire design.
You really should try it with patterned paper!

Don't forget today is the last day to snag up all the great cut files to use throughout the year! Use code MERRY25 to say 25% on your purchase!  I can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks for stopping by!
Happy New Year!
