"Favorite" with Kira

Hey again!  It's Kira and I am back with another 8.5x11 scrapbook layout featuring one of my favorite cut files from The Cut Shoppe, Beach Bum.

Beach Bum

I started this layout with the idea of making my page look like a giant polaroid picture.  And if I'm being completely honest, it didn't exactly turn out as I envisioned it would.  But that's okay, because I tried something new and I don't hate the outcome.  But basically I started the layout with an 8.5x11 piece of white cardstock and cut a 7x7 square to make it look like a giant polaroid frame.

Then I cut out the palm leaf from Beach Bum, also in white cardstock, in a few varying sizes.  I backed all the leaves with either a mint leaf paper, or an aqua leaf paper from the MME collection, Palm Beach.

I layered the leaves under the frame and over my photo (which I had sized at 6x6).  I also tucked in a few of the die cut flowers from the Palm Beach die cut pack.  After adding the flowers, the bottom half of my frame looked really plain!  This is where I sort of regretted going with a white frame and thought maybe a patterned paper would've looked better?

Anyway, I decided to jazz up the bottom a bit with some fussy cut palm leaves from a patterned paper, along with my title and some more die cut pieces from Palm Beach.

Thanks for stopping by!

Life Lately with Kira

Hey there!  It's Kira and I am back with another 8.5x11 scrapbook layout using one of the new cut files from The Cut Shoppe!

When I first saw this Rose Garden cut file, I knew it had to make its way onto one of my layouts!  I mean, how gorgeous is this?!

I decided to pull out the In Bloom paper pad from My Minds Eye to back my cut file.  I used a pale pink floral for the flower, and some green leaves to back the leaves.

I was originally going to use white cardstock as my background paper, but played around with some of the other patterned papers from the paper pad until I ultimately decided on this cream and black floral.  It really makes the pink rose pop off the page while pulling in black from my shirt in the photo.

I kept my embellishing really simple, sticking with a black, pink and green color scheme.  I pulled in some die cuts, stickers and a few enamel dots.

One of my favorite embellishments is the pom pom frame from Crate Paper, I love how it pulls the black forward and really draws your eye to the photo.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello, Let's Chat Glam Girl! | Amanda Baldwin

Hi Cut Shoppe Friends & Fans!

Amanda here, with a super girly and fun page to share with you!
Today I am featuring the fabulous Hello Let's Chat digital cut file & let's just say, it's perfection for teen girls!!!
Here's what I've created with it today....

"Glam Girl"

Well, Hello Glam girl, indeed! Such a fun & playful page for my not so little girl!
I have combined the Echo Park's Fashionista with the My Mind's Eye Glam Girl collections to create this teen scene layout.
I cut the file in white cardstock, attach it to my page with lots of foam dots, and finish it off with lots of embellishments. SO pretty! Raising the cut file with foam dots really makes it stand out against that soft mint background.
Let's have a closer look at this amazing cut file!

Hello, Let's Chat looks like this.....

So awesome, huh?! I can see a ton of possibilities with this file too!
You can get the Hello, Let's Chat file from The Cut Shoppe Etsy Store HERE.

Here's a closer look at my layout, and all those sweet embellishments.....

I choose to back a few of the speech bubbles with pattern papers, and of course, my fun photo!
This cut file is ideal for memory keeping all our conversations, texts and phone pics! She looks way too grown up in that mirror selfie - I blinked, and all of a sudden she wasn't little anymore. So glad that I document her stories to remember all our days!
Here's another view for you....

I layer ephemera pieces onto some of the other speech bubbles, as well as cute brads, gold sequins and even some puffy sticker hearts! You'll also spot some typewriter font sentiments around the cut file.

Loving that hello - it's such a fun font to compliment the speech bubbles with!

Gorgeous, girly and so much fun!!!
I hope my layout has inspired you to go cut the Hello, Let's Chat file today!

Thanks so much for visiting,
til next time,

His Selfie Game is Strong

Hello it's Melissa here and I'm so happy to be back with you again!  If you have a son like mine  you're likely to have loads of selfies on your phone!  Sam (nearly 10) takes selfies every time he has my phone, and he leaves them as a surprise for me to find.

For this layout I used the And Then and Friends Forever cut file sets, and I used my December Hip Kit.  I choose the ampersand with stars, because I thought it really suited my son, and cut it large.  When I saw "Selfie" on the Forever Friends set I knew it was perfect for one of Sam's photos.

I went for a large title based around the "Selfie" cut file, and used a common slang phrase of today's day and age, which will be interesting to look back on in perpetuity.  I had to explain to Sam what it meant!

I love how the large ampersand looks cut from the Pink Paislee Take Me Away paper!

Here are the cut files:

There are so many other design possibilities for these cut file sets, which means more bang for your buck!

Thanks so much for looking

Christmas Trees

Hi there! It's Flóra back on The Cut Shoppe blog. I can't wait to come the Holy Night (24th December in Hungary) as this evening the family is always together. We have our family traditions and these habitual sweet thing make this holiday so special. I decided to dive into last year's memories and document them.

For my layout I used the Tree Farm cut file set. I oversized two different pine trees to have them as my focus. I cut them out from white cardstock with my Silhouette Cameo.

I backed the Tree Farm trees with My Mind's Eye Sugar Plum papers. I used foam tape to create depth and 3D look. In few places wrapped around one of the tree with white yarn to add extra texture.

I thought the pink cardstock background is too plain, I wanted to make it "exciting" somehow. Then it came in my mind to scatter half pearls to mimic snowfall.

I hope you like my new scrapbook layout. Thanks for stopping by and have a nice weekend!

Hello Sunshine

Hello everyone it's Zinia here again and I have another layout to share with you using the beautiful Sassy Circles cut file from the Cut Shoppe.

I was initially going to make this an A4 size layout (similar to 8.5x11) since I cut it using my portrait machine but as I was going I decided to mount that page on a 12x12 paper and make it work! So to all portrait owners, you can still cut beautiful backgrounds for your 12x12 pages, you just need to be a bit more creative with it.

I used some sort of wrapping tissue paper to create some ruffles at the sides of my A4 page to help it stand out. I backed the open spots with some papers from the Amy Tangerine "Rise & Shine" collection and then I started embellishing.

I created a cluster at the top left corner of my page using bits from different collections I had laying around.

I decided to punch out some tiny circles, color them and spread them around like confetti to break the white of the background.

I really hope you enjoyed and got inspired to create something beautiful with your cut files. Until next time, happy scrapping.

Sweet life maze

Hello Everyone! It's Flóra here sharing a new 12" layout. For this page I used The Cut Shoppe Crop Circles cut file set. The maze cut file is totally awesome, really inspired me to enlarge it and fill with it the entire page.

I chose a photo of me. In this photo I am running on the polish beach all happy. :D I thought this could fit to the theme and the message of my layout. You can see many contrasts here... sweet life - maze, running away - smiling, happiness - difficulty. This is life. :-)

Because of the color of my coat I decided to use My Mind's Eye On trend 2 collection. It's not so easy to find this kind of orange in any collections. (This is why I have pink coat now! lol) The orange paper and all the embellishments are from there. I adhered a whole pack of flair button, scattered them like they would go around the maze.

Here is the process video:

Thanks for stopping by! Have a nice weekend!

Happy Life

Hello!  It's time for me to stop in and share a new layout and a few new cut file designs!  This week I incorporated four cut files from The Cut Shoppe into my layout...two of the new designs and two of our older designs.  I picked up some of the On Trend 2 collection from My Mind's Eye and used it with the new And Love cut file and the A Way with Words cut file!

I loved the bright, striped paper in the MME collection, so I started by cutting the And Love ampersand from it.  Then I used the rest of the paper on opposite corners of the page.  I layered my photo, title and some of the MME embellishments over the ampersand.

I really liked the look of the bright colors from the On Trend 2 collection contrasting with the White cardstock on the layout.  I thought it would be a good idea to use two other cut files cut from the same White cardstock, to add a tone on tone look.  I cut leaves from the Funky Florals cut file and tucked them behind some of the MME embelishments.  I also cut heart borders from the Spring Fling cut file set and adhered them along the diagonal stripes.

There are so many ways to combine the different cut file designs from The Cut Shoppe!  If you're browsing the store, make sure you check out all three of the new sets, and the variety of other sets offered in the shop!

And if you need any help tracing, separating or welding your cut files, I have a new Process Video on my YouTube channel.  I walk through each of these steps, if you would like to check it out!
