I played around with several ideas for the layout, like using the unicorn as a large element on the layout or placing it inside another shape like a heart or star. I ended up going with the second idea...somewhat, by placing the unicorn inside a rounded square. That inspired me to go with a grid design for the layout, and I used the Live More collection from Pinkfresh Studio.
I used the Silhouette Cameo Sketch Pens to draw the grid design and then I stitched over the lines with a variety of embroidery floss colors. I am including the grid I used as a FREE download. Just click on the graphic below to download the design.
Once the stitching was done, I placed my photo and embellishments from the Live More collection in the grid sections. I also used a couple of other designs from the Unicorn Xing cut file to place in the grid.
I always have fun with grid designs, and it was fun finding spots for the cut files, mixed with the Pinkfresh Studio embellishments!
We have two other new cut file designs, that you can pick up in The Cut Shoppe Etsy store.
